A 300 sq ft casita (i.e, guest house) is available near I-40 and Rio Grande Blvd. This area is generally the division between the “North Valley” and “Downtown" areas of Albuquerque. The casita is within walking distance to the natural food co-op and a regular grocer; 5 minutes away from bosque (i.e., wooded river) bike trails, zoo, botanical gardens, and the old town plaza. A small community park is three houses away. The guest house is located behind my home and through its own private access gate to the yard.
The casita consists of a furnished open living space with a combined bed and kitchenette area plus a bathroom containing a shower, sink, and toilet. The kitchenette is very basic (coffee maker, microwave, cook plate, refrigerator, and dishware). Bath towels and bed linens are included in your stay. There is heating and air conditioning. Off-street parking, some garage storage, and free Wi-Fi internet is available. Laundry access is available inside the main house and can be scheduled with the homeowner. General cleaning supplies are provided too.
Nearby restaurants include St. Clair Winery, Flying Star, and Village Pizza. This location is 15 minutes from downtown eateries, such as Slate Street Cafe and Farina.
I keep a quiet property; however, children of all ages are always welcome. The nearby park offers a nice grassy place to run around. I have a fenced flock of chickens, which most people find charming and amusing. Guests are provided with a handful of eggs during their stay.
Jennifer's place is clean, cozy, private & close to walking paths, co-op grocery, historic Old Town, highways, etc. She was a friendly and accommodating host and we were happy with our stay. The only minor issue we had was with cooking. The basic kitchenette was limited and dishes had to be washed in bathroom pedestal sink. (Our fault for not considering this before we got there.) Perfect place though if you aren't going to cook too much or too often. Would definitely go back again.
The Casita was a perfect place for my month long stay while working at the New Mexico VA. Very easy to get to and quite close to I40. Small but adequate accommodation for 1 person. Jennifer was very gracious and had me park in the driveway. Jennifer is very nice and helpful and addresses any problems promptly
Jennifer's casita perfectly suited our needs! Loved the chickens!
Jennifer was a great host and I would highly recommend staying with her! The casita was very clean when I arrived and had everything I needed.
FABULOUS! This was exactly what I needed for a week's stay when I leave at 4 am for my event and return in the evening. Quiet, comfortable, easy to find, easy to park. And Jennifer is so very kind and helpful. The ambiance is perfect and she leaves a plethora of useful information for the area in the casita. I almost don't want anyone to know how nice it was because I want to be able to stay there again next year and hope she is not fully booked.
the casita is the perfect hideaway for a stay in albuquerque: close to the old town, 1-40, central avenue (route 66), the rio grande, and places to shop and eat, all that while being in a very quiet barrio.
my boyfriend and i had everything we needed and even though we did not get to meet jennifer while we were there, we appreciated her thoughtful offerings: guidebooks on the area, coffee and tea, and fresh eggs from her backyard flock. would definitely stay there again.
My stay at this little hideaway was exactly what I had hoped for! It's always a little nerve-racking staying in a city that you don't know and taking a gamble on a rental that you've never seen but this was a fantastic score!
The room was quiet, private and very tastefully decorated and it had everything I could possibly need for my stay. I was in town for the entire month so I had plenty of chance to find anything I could possibly not like about it but to be honest, it was really a steal and I actually felt a bit like I was ripping Jennifer off by getting such a bargain.
If I ever need to stay in ABQ again, I will take this place in a heartbeat. Jennifer was friendly and kind but also respected my privacy.
For those who are unfamiliar with the area, this is a very safe, quiet middle-class community and I was comfortable going out walking after dark. It is conveniently located near Old Town and some decent restaurants so there is no need to feel hesitant about what you'll be living around.
I was traveling with my girlfriend to New Mexico and the studio met our needs perfectly. It is very centrally located, clean, and exactly as described. Though we never met the host, she was very responsive over email and I'm sure she would have accommodated us had we needed anything.
This was my first time using airbnb and it was perfect! The casita was exactly as pictured. Jennifer could not have been more hospitable. She gave great recommendations of places to eat and directions to the casita. All of my correspondence with Jennifer was pleasant and prompt. I would most definitely stay here again!
I had such a lovely time staying in this casita! Jennifer was incredibly accommodating. The location could not be better...set in a quiet neighborhood and easy to jump onto I-40 or go to the zoo or catch some amazing breakfast at Flying Star! Jennifer's chickens were charming and only added to the experience. I highly recommend this place for anyone coming to ABQ and looking for a quiet, comfortable place at the end of the day!
