About this listing
Former Cumbrian farmhouse - the date above the door says 1740 - in Long Marton, near Appleby-in-Westmorland, on the East Fellside of the Eden Valley in Cumbria. As the name suggests, it is situated in the middle of the village, next to a well-run pub serving excellent meals.

It is also on the route of Lady Anne's Way. Easy access to the Pennines, the Lake District and perfect to break a journey to Scotland (Glasgow and Edinburgh approximately 2 hours). The village is just off the A66.

Staying in Anne's home was a delight. She was a thoughtful and accommodating host. She gave great advice on things to do and loaned maps to help me navigate. I highly recommend Anne's home for a stay conveniently close to Lakes District, a fabulous hike up to High Cup Nick, which I'd never heard of, but well worth the climb, and fairly close to Hadrians Wall. All brilliant. As was Anne. Thank you.
Anne communicated with us well prior to arrival was there to welcome us and make us feel at home. The house is great, our room was pleasant and breakfast was delicious. Very happy with everything.
I spent one night as an Airbnb guest in Anne's house and it was really special. After along day on the road Anne was incredibly welcoming, the room was fab, clean and cosy and the breakfast was extra special with loads of Anne's home baked bread. I would stay again anytime and recommend it to everybody. Thanks Anne.
Excellent stay albeit for 1 night only. Many thanks Anne.
Thanks, John. It was good to meet you. I hope all goes well for you. I'm afraid I was away during the review-writing period and don't seem to find a way to make a belated one - so this will have to be it. I am happy to recommend you to any future hosts - as long as they don't produce soggy toast! Anne
I loved staying here and everything was just as described. I slept like a log and ate like a queen!
Anne couldn't have been any more accommodating for me if she'd tried - even helping to dry out my very wet clothes after a day spent at a very wet festival nearby.
I very much hope to come back another time and stay with Anne. Lovely lady.
