The room available is on the first floor of a lovely recently refurbished Victorian house in Poets Corner in Hove. You can choose between having a super king bed or two singles if you prefer.

We have a fast wireless connection which you are welcome to use, we provide all your towels and there's a hair dryer too so that should save some room in your suitcase.

We offer a breakfast of toast, cereal, juice, tea and coffee and this is included in the price. You are also welcome to help yourself to tea and coffee at any time. The family consists of one God mother and one or two grown up God children depending on which days you're here. We have a lovely modern kitchen and large modern bathroom with walk in shower which is shared with the one other guest room only.

There are loads of shops and cafes in walking distance from the house and some really good pubs offering great food. We are about seven minutes walk down to the beach and a bus from the end of the road takes you into Brighton in ten minutes and stops right in the middle of the Lanes. If you're feeling energetic you can walk along the seafront to Brighton in about half hour. You can get a train into London from Hove station and the journey takes about an hour. If you bring your car we can give you a day permit for £2.60 which is what we have to pay for them.

We have one dog and one cat so you'll need to like animals. Neither of the animals will come into your room unless you leave the door open in which case you may come home to find a cat asleep on/in your bed! We love having guests to stay so look forward to hearing from you and meeting you.

  • I just loved the large, bright, comfortable, clean & warm room that I had the pleasure to enjoy for a month. Nix place is close to public transport, shops, pubs, restaurants & cafes. It is also handy to the sea and is quiet an easy walk to Brighton. Staying here was like staying at a luxury hotel except one thing; no hotel has Fripp, he is like the icing on a very yummy cake!! And talking of cake some of my favourite places to go for cake were; The Hidden Pantry, Sunshine Books & Treacle & Co. And if you need a hair dresser, Stone Hair is just around the corner and their very good!

Thanks for the lovely review, glad to see you're home safely. Love from Nix and Fripp x

  • An absolutely lovely place to stay, a warm and friendly home with the most wonderful bearded collie, the fabulous Fripp, and our lovely host Nix. Gorgeous spot in Poet's corner, very easy to get to the beautiful beach and into Brighton, would recommend a stay to anyone! Many thanks to Nix and Fripp :)

  • My girlfriend and I made a road trip through England and started and finished at Nix' place. She was very lovely, nice, communicative - it was an brilliant stay. Lovely Fripp was the icing on the cake.

We were so looking forward to returning to Nix and Fripp all the week.

  • Me and my partner had the most wonderful stay with Nix in her beautiful Hove hideaway. It was a totally last minute stay as we had chose to stay again for another night in Brighton last minute. I only wish we had booked our entire stay with Nix! The house and room are beautiful, homely and welcoming throughout. The luxury guest bathroom and shower room was particularly welcoming during our wintery stay! Nix was the perfect host helping us with our parking dilemma and her radiant personality kept our spirits up even tho we were suffering from a bad cold! Would highly recommend and will defiantly be staying again should we find ourselves in Brighton and Hove again any time soon.

  • After a week of travelling through England we returned for our last night to Nix. She welcomed us very friendly - and so did Fripp. We finally met Ruby the cat.

It was a lovely visit to Hove and Brighton. We plan to come back in 2014 and we definitely will stay at Nix's place then. Absolute recommendation!

  • We had a wonderful stay with Nix, her cat Ruby and her dog, the ADORABLE Fripp. The house was beautiful and the room was very comfortable. Nix was welcoming and so accomodating helping us with buses and directions and even lending me a bag for my night out! We couldn't fault anything about our experience. Thanks Nix!

  • It was wonderful to stay in Nix's beautiful house and to meet her, Fripp the dog and Ruby the cat. Everything about the stay was great. The bed is very large, the bathroom is clean and tidy (and also very large), the house was warm and the breakfast was very nice and set us up for the day perfectly. After a friendly welcome and orientation Nix accommodated us and our plans perfectly - we had cup of tea and a chat before going about our own business. I would recommend staying here very much, particularly if you like dogs. Thank you Nix!

I retired down to Hove having lived in London for most of my life. I love walking over the downs with the dog and along the seafront, also with the dog. In the summer we both go in the sea for a dip but neither of us much like swimming. I'm very keen on photography and I love gardening though I only have a small courtyard garden here in Hove. I usually have one of my two grown up God children staying with me which I love.
