Description

The space

The en suite room available is on the first floor of a lovely refurbished Victorian house in Poets Corner in Hove. There is a double bed in this room for which you'll get freshly laundered cotton bed linen once a week. There is plenty of wardrobe space, a table and chairs and a 32 inch TV.

We have a very fast wireless connection which you are welcome to use, we provide all your towels and there's a hair dryer and iron too so that should save some room in your suitcase.

We offer a breakfast of toast, cereal, juice, tea and coffee with homemade jam from the local farm. This is included in the price and is served between 8am and 10am. There are also tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

You'll find lots of shops, bars and cafes within walking distance from the house and some really good pubs offering great reasonably priced food. We are about seven minutes walk down to the beach and a bus from the end of the road takes you into central Brighton in ten minutes and stops right in the middle of the Lanes. If you're feeling energetic you can walk along the seafront into central Brighton and the Lanes in about 30 minutes. You'll pass the i360 our brand new attraction on the way. There are also regular buses going up to the South Downs, Devil's Dyke and to Seven Sisters.

You can get a train into London from Hove station and the journey takes about an hour. If you bring your car we can give you a day permit for £3.00 which is what we have to pay for them.

We have a very friendly dog so you'll need to like animals. He won't come into your room unless you leave the door open in which case you may come home to find him asleep on your bed!

We love having guests to stay so look forward to hearing from you and meeting you. Gatwick is our nearest airport and is only half hour away.

Guest access

There is no use of the kitchen unless you are staying for one week or more and is specifically requested.

Interaction with guests

As much or as little as they'd like

The neighborhood

We have lots of local pubs which serve good food and it's only a short walk to the beach and a short bus ride to the South Downs.

Getting around

There is a choice of buses at the end of the road which will take you into central Brighton and the very famous Lanes in about ten minutes. We also have a wonderful choice of cafes and restaurants within walking distance right here in Hove.

Other things to note

This is a difficult one but has to be said. I'm not really happy if my guests lie in bed until noon and then want their breakfast when I'm about to have lunch.

Myself and my friend were extremely happy with Nix's place. It was exactly what we were looking for - quietness, big comfy bed with fresh linen, powerful shower, tv. The house is situated in a lovely Hove area - highly recommended for those, who are looking for a quiet stay. Nix was a wonderful hoast - she was very welcoming and gave us a lot of good tips on best places to visit. Fripp - was another wonderful surprise! Dog lovers - be prepared to be blown away by his cuteness :) We are definitely coming back to Nix's place the next time we are visiting Brighton! Thanks for everything.

We had a wonderful stay at Nix's place. Everything was as described, even better. Nix is the perfect host, greeted us when we arrived, explained everything, and was very helpful in all ways. The accommodations were very nice, super comfortable bed, nice linens, great shower, comfortable table and chairs. Nix fixed us breakfast each morning and this was a very enjoyable chance to chat. We highly recommend Nix's place and would certainly stay there again if we visit the Brighton area. Thank-you Nix!

This was our second stay with Nix and it was again an excellent choice - this guest room is now even better because a new ensuite (with a great shower) has been installed since our first visit. The room and house are always super clean and well equipped with lovely decoration. Nix is a brilliant host and Fripp the dog is calm and friendly. Definitely recommend this listing to anybody visiting Hove :-)

Nix User ProfileNix is a superhost.

I retired down to Hove having lived in London for most of my life. I love walking over the downs with the dog and along the seafront, also with the dog. In the summer we both go in the sea for a dip but neither of us much like swimming. I'm very keen on photography and I love gardening though I only have a small courtyard garden here in Hove. I usually have one of my two grown up God children staying with me which I love.
