We've just been voted a 'Superhost' by Airbnb. Come and stay in our large double/twin room in Hove with 32 inch TV and table and chairs. Please note we do not charge for the second guest.
The room available is on the first floor of a lovely refurbished Victorian house in Poets Corner in Hove. There is a huge superking bed in this room which can also be made into two singles and you'll also get freshly laundered cotton bed linen once a week. There is plenty of wardrobe space, a table and chairs and also a 32 inch TV.
We have a fast wireless connection which you are welcome to use, we provide all your towels and there's a hair dryer too so that should save some room in your suitcase.
We offer a breakfast of toast, cereal, juice, tea and coffee with homemade jam from the local farm. This is included in the price and is served between 8am and 10am. There are also tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
There is a large modern bathroom with walk in shower which is shared with one other room.
You'll find loads of shops and cafes in walking distance from the house and some really good pubs offering great food. We are about seven minutes walk down to the beach and a bus from the end of the road takes you into central Brighton in ten minutes and stops right in the middle of the Lanes. If you're feeling energetic you can walk along the seafront in about 30 minutes.
You can get a train into London from Hove station and the journey takes about an hour. If you bring your car we can give you a day permit for £2.60 which is what we have to pay for them.
We have one dog and one cat so you'll need to like animals. Neither of the animals will come into your room unless you leave the door open in which case you may come home to find a cat asleep on your bed! We love having guests to stay so look forward to hearing from you and meeting you.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR EXTRA GUESTS AFTER THE FIRST ONE.
There is no use of the kitchen unless specifically requested.
Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as they'd like
We have lots of local pubs which serve good food and it's only a short walk to the beach and a short bus ride to the South Downs.
There is a choice of buses at the end of the road which will take you into central Brighton and the very famous Lanes in about ten minutes. We also have a wonderful choice of cafes and restaurants within walking distance right here in Hove.
Other Things to Note
This is a difficult one but has to be said. I'm not really happy if my guests lie in bed until noon and then spend the next two hours eating breakfast. This is my private home and I have friends for lunch and this can be difficult if I have guests still eating breakfast at lunchtime.
Please don't leave the front gate or the front door open for the safety of the animals and please always close the stair gate . That's all!
During our stay we felt at home.
The room is beautiful and the bed very comfortable, we slept great!
I loved the breakfast jams
Nix is a excelent host, very friendly and helped us at all times.
We had a nice souvenir of a picture with your fantastic dog.
If you're visiting brighton or Hove, this is the perfect place to make you stay
Lovely time staying at Nix (and Fripps!) house - beautiful decor and spacious rooms. Will be booking again in the future!
Nix is such a wonderful host and we felt very welcome in the house. Her lovely dog is so respectful like her and the room is amazing and very clean. I will suggest to my friends who want to visit Brighton&Hove and feeling like at home! Thank you so much Nix.
Very welcoming host, room was clean tidy and bed very comfortable.
Facilities were ideal ,lovely bathroom, the only real problem is the parking charges,------Brighton council!!!
Can easily recommend.
Our second stay with Nix at her beautiful and comfortable house in Poet's Corner Hove. All facilities are of the highest quality and it was a real treat to enjoy the company of Nix and her bearded collie Frip, a very docile dog but full of character. The house is convenient for the beach and trains to London and shopping in Brighton. It is a quiet street but also close to bars and restaurants so eating out is not a problem. We loved staying here and we will return.
Thanks guys and yes I'm sure the other room will be free. Give me plenty of notice, even if you have to cancel nearer the time because then I can hold the days for you. If you had to cancel nearer the time it wouldn't be a problem because the smaller room always gets snapped up. See you soon...
Nix was a very charming and kind host, our stay was most pleasant. We really liked her dog which is very friendly. The room is very big and cosy, even the bathroom is huge. Everything was clean and the assortement for breakfast is very big as well. All in all an absolutely great time where we felt most comfortable. We warmly recommend Nix!
Great house and location. Friendly host with great breakfast. Would use again if in the area.

I retired down to Hove having lived in London for most of my life. I love walking over the downs with the dog and along the seafront, also with the dog. In the summer we both go in the sea for a dip but neither of us much like swimming. I'm very keen on photography and I love gardening though I only have a small courtyard garden here in Hove. I usually have one of my two grown up God children staying with me which I love.
