About this listing
Fisherman, boaters and nature lovers will enjoy their stay in this modernized mobile home. Watch the manatees from your own boat dock or commune with the native birds. This cozy home boasts a queen size bed and full bath.
It isn't often that a low cost vacation becomes available. This property is part of a Mobile Home Park however it is adjacent to the park with no housing across the street from it. It is quiet and restful. Many people like to come to Pine Island to decompress and this little property can provide that. Boat owners with a trailered boat (up to 22 ft) can use the park ramp which is five houses away from our house and keep it at our dock. We are located 5 minutes from San Carlos Bay that leads right to the Gulf of Mexico. A dream place for a boater or fisherman! This is not a high end luxury vacation villa but once you have enjoyed the benefits of island living, you will want to return.
Guests will have access to all areas of the house except for a small twin size bedroom.

Pine Island is 18 miles long. One Third of it is zoned agriculture and there are many palm tree plantations, cattle ranches and environmental areas. It is known for its fishing/boating and mostly for its laid back atmosphere. Approximately 8 miles from the house is one large grocery store (Winn-Dixie) on the island in a shopping center that houses a liquor store, hair salon, CVS pharmacy, laundry, chinese food and dominos pizza. In the immediate area, there is a general store, waterfront restaurants, marinas, spa, and local civic centers that have entertainment and activities. About 10 miles from the house in a town called Matlacha and it is the best view of old Florida with tiny colored houses converted to art galleries, shops, eateries. To the northern tip of the island is Bokelia and its is mostly residential with a couple of eateries and shops. Most people who visit Pine Island will take a boat ride to Cabbage Key for lunch or they might take a ride to Sanibel Island known for its shelling or ride up to Boca Grande which is a stronghold for the Bush Family. Cape Coral is easy to get to with a large corridor along Pine Island Road with every conceivable restaurant, shopping, etc.
A car is necessary to get around the island. There is no public transportation. Parking is included with the listing for two cars or a car and a boat trailer. The airport is 1 hour away from this listing. Arrangements can be made to transport guests to and from the property by the owner but it is strongly urged to rent a car.
Other Things to Note
I love this house. It has been a home for me and a home for others. It is a simple life and very slow paced. The TV has four channels and a DVD. . Islanders are not too much into TV but city folks can't seem to do without it. A smart phone works fine from this area especially on the lanai where signal is stronger. There are places on Pine Island where you can take a laptop and pick up a signal if you need to access the internet. Pine Island is not known as a beach community. It has a community pool in the center of the island and it has one area with a tiny beach where people put their kayaks in, Exceptional beaches are on Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach and Lovers key. Those locations are close by boat but not by car. It will take approximately 1hr to get to Sanibel.
This is a non-smoking property meaning no smoking inside ever. Owner is allergic to smoke. Only a small pet would be considered. The lanai is set up for small dog safety with latticed fencing to prevent them from jumping or pushing through screens. I expect that guests will enjoy themselves and leave the property as they found it. . I would appreciate notice if there is something that broke during their stay.
