Lake Tahoe is directly across the street. There is a small park with picnic tables and bbq grills for outside picnicking. Also, in the summer months across the street you can rent kayaks, paddle boards, and other water craft. Mini golf is a 10 minute walk and several of the areas finest restaurants are within walking distance or a short drive away. The area's bike path goes right by our home and King's Beach and Tahoe City are a short 10 minute drives to the east and west.
Interaction with Guests
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Carneliian Bay is a charming small community on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. It is centrally located so that it is very convenient to all of the north shore attractions, ski areas in the winter and the lake and the Truckee River for rafting in the summer months.
The local TRT buses stop right in front of our home and several of the ski buses in the winter months stop in front of the house also.
Other Things to Note
Our home is not a typically vacation rental. It is full of upscale furnishings, art, granite counter tops in the baths and kitchen and all new appliances as of 2014.
NO PETS AND IF YOU SMOKE YOU BETTER BE ON FIRE
Dale's home was a perfect Tahoe getaway! Perfectly comfortable, a very well appointed kitchen and Dale was an excellent host. We'll definitely look to stay at Dale's in the future if available.
The house was absolutely perfect! Everything was just as depicted and even more magical in-person. The house is super close to restaurants and a convenient store, and not a far drive in either direction to beaches and more restaurants/shops. We were a party of five and it slept all of us more than comfortably. (Also the two full baths was a real life saver when trying to convert from beach time to dinner time with five girls!)
Dale was awesome with communication and had all the instructions for how to use everything outlined in the house so it was very easy for us to get into vacation mode. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking ware, too, if you want to cook at home.
The neighborhood was really quaint and quiet and we didn't have any noise from persons or cars or anything. The view from the porch is beautiful morning, noon, and night and we enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets from it.
Can't say enough good things about our stay :)
Dale is an absolutely fantastic host. Incredibly helpful, kind, considerate and very responsive. We had a magical stay at his lovely home on the lake and couldn't recommend this place more highly.
All communication with Dale was excellent. Before arriving, he was prompt in answering all my questions. Upon arrival, Dale and his wife encouraged us to ask them if there was anything we needed. During our stay, I again asked questions about activities in area, and Dale was helpful.
The home is really lovely. Decor is perfect for Tahoe. It had everything we needed in kitchen. Beds were very comfortable. The rooms are large. Lake Tahoe view from deck is beautiful. There is a busy road in front of house, but you don't really hear it unless you're on deck. We really felt very comfortable in such a lovely home.
The location is really convenient for enjoying Tahoe.
Great house, right across from the lake. Dale gave us a basket of beach toys for our kids, beach chairs, and rafts to use. It was a great house that we loved being in - so nice to sit on porch and look at lake every day. Our only complaint (which I should have figured out from photos myself) was that there was no yard space for kids to play in - we just assumed there would be because it's a house. So it was tough to keep kids occupied inside or on porch when we were home. Otherwise a great house!
Dale’s lodge on Carnelia Bay provided a great backdrop for a family reunion and escape to a yoga festival in squaw valley. Spacious and cozy, the lodge is stocked full of all items you could need, with Tahoe-inspired décor that creates a rustic vibe. Dale was prompt and communicative from the beginning and—as he was staying nearby--helpful during our stay with any questions we had. When one of us was locked out, he even went out in the rain to go get us a spare key.
View of the lake from the sunny deck is accurate and a big plus. The only drawback is that the lodge is located on the busy North Lake Boulevard, so there’s constant sound of cars whirring by. But that’s the inevitable price you pay for being close to the lake on the northwest side. There’s also a high-end bar and restaurant across the street walking distance, and a hip coffee shop, kayak and SUP rentals a block down.
Our trip was to celebrate our daughter graduation, there were 8 of us 6 adults and two children, the house is very comfortable, beautifully decorated, clean and fully stocked. We were all impressed by the house, its location and the views of the lake and mountains. Dale was wonderful and the whole process was very easy, he was always accessible to answer any questions I had. We would love to rent from him in the future.

Hi. My wife and I are retired. We have 3 children, a son who lives in Reno and manages our Lake Tahoe magazine, the weekly, (website hidden), a daughter who lives in Washington DC and works for the Americn Cancer Society, Cancer Action Network, and our youngest daughter who lives in DC and works at the U. S. Capital while she completes a graduate degree at George Washington University in their Museum Studies program. My wife and I love to travel, spend time with our children and 3 grand children, ski at Tahoe, and in the summer we enjoy taking our boat out on the Lake. It is a wonderful place. We enjoy dining out, estate sales, and just goofing off.
