  • Beautiful home it is, we really did enjoy the view of the lake and the mountains. The house was perfect for 3 couples. My wife did enjoy the decorations especially the skiing Santa. Close to King Beach and Tahoe City where we had dinner. Gar Wood across the street was closed, they are remodeling.

Dale was great and always responded very quickly to our questions.

  • We really enjoyed the stay. the place is as described, in the living room, which is on the second floor, you can see the lake, across the street there is a nice restaurant with a bar. Went to happy hour at the bar for a few cocktails and then came back to the house and chatted the whole night by the fireplace which is warm and cosy

I noticed is that there are no curtains in the living room. it's not really an issue. we had a great time in the cabin and would definitely go back again.

thanks Dale for accommodating the request to stay for 1-night only. a lot of the holiday homes in Tahoe require 2-night minimum stay during the peak seasons.

  • The house was more amazing than we imagined. We slept like kings in amazing beds and woke up to spectacular views. Dale's home is both comfortable and welcoming. We would love to rent from him in the future.

  • This trip was for my mom's birthday. My parents spent a weekend at the house with a couple of their close friends. They said they thought the house was very nice, stocked well with the basic necessities too (cookware, toilet paper, etc). It's a cute place, easy to find, just a few feet off the main highway, and across the street from the lake, which was excellent because that's where they spent most of their time.
It's very close to the restaurants and the boat rentals too.
All in all, it was well worth the price. They had a relaxing fun weekend with awesome views, very comfortable, and would recommend renting from Dale, which was a completely hassle-free experience.

  • What an amazing location, it's simply unreal. We had the good fortune to snag this spot for the Labor Day weekend and you would seriously be hard pressed to find a better spot on the lake.

We were within a stone's throw os 7-Eleven, which can't be beat for convenience... they even carry Cadia foods, which is super surprising since I can't even find that in most stores right in SF!

Across the street, literally, is a bar/restaurant that has great views despite their pretentiousness, however, you can take a nice walk 10 minutes away to the Old Post Cafe which has the best breakfast and mimosas.

The house itself, clean and absolutely beautifully decorated. There's even a loft for the adventurous kid (or adult!) to hang out in and observe the chaos below that might be your family. The views of the lake were priceless, we even caught fireworks right in front of us off the deck as we grilled some burgers and dogs.

The beds were comfortable and the layout is great for families or groups as there's basically another floor above that provides total privacy for mom and dad and the well equipped kitchen is far enough from the rooms that no one is disturbed by any early/late night waffle making.

Dale is a magnificent host and The Weekly is a great local zine to have on hand when you want to hit the road and explore. I would be hard pressed to find a better location or home. I didn't even leave the house except to get supplies and basked in the sun right off the deck while the men went off to make some noise elsewhere. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back!

  • My sister and boyfriend and I stayed in this gorgeous home for three nights during a recent trip to Tahoe. It feels like a cosy mountain chalet inside! We were very glad to have stayed here- the house was located just across the lake so the views were stunning. It was also really conveniently located(close to shops, crazy golf and Gar Woods restaurant) The house had everything we needed and Shirley and Dale seemed like lovely people (when we occasionally met them.) The only downside is that it's a little close to highway 28 so the traffic can sound quite loud. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay. We would highly recommend this lovely home.

  • Dale was quick to respond and flexible to work with. The cabin is spacious, gorgeous and offers linens, towels, and even beach chairs. We enjoyed spending most of our time on the lake-facing deck. The kitchen is also stocked with pots, pans, plates and utensils, and the beds were very comfortable. Great location -- just a few minutes drive to nice beaches and fun activities. We will definitely come back!

  • Outstanding house! It had everything we needed (4 people) and was totally hassle free. Everyone enjoyed the stay that much more because of the house!

  • Dale was a wonderful host who provided very detailed instructions. The chalet was very charming, is very well furnished, and has a good view of the lake. It also has wifi!

  • This beautiful home is located right across the street from Lake Tahoe and is convenient to many great restaurants (including GarWoods across the street) and shopping. Kayaks and Stand-Up Paddleboards can be rented at Waterman's Landing, which is within walking distance. Dale is a great host and the house is set up so well for guests that it is truly a pleasure to stay here. We'll be back!

About
Hi. My wife and I are retired. We have 3 children, a son who lives in Reno and manages our Lake Tahoe magazine, the weekly, (website hidden), a daughter who lives in Washington DC and works for the Americn Cancer Society, Cancer Action Network, and our youngest daughter who lives in DC and works at the U. S. Capital while she completes a graduate degree at George Washington University in their Museum Studies program. My wife and I love to travel, spend time with our children and 3 grand children, ski at Tahoe, and in the summer we enjoy taking our boat out on the Lake. It is a wonderful place. We enjoy dining out, estate sales, and just goofing off.
