Jonah’s review is grossly misleading and its length speaks volumes about Jonah’s approach to this booking and dealings with me. --Firstly, Jonah egregiously misrepresents our initial communication: ‘I WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BOOK’. Jonah sent a (prepaid) Reservation Request contrary to my headline notice ‘2018: PLEASE SEND INQUIRY (not a Reservation Request) TO CHECK AVAILABILITY’ Jonah more accurately states ’I should have read more carefully before booking….I had very little time….’ In fact, Jonah drew me into a lengthy, complex communique made more difficult by his being in Belarus evidently without WiFi for considerable time, whence he also had to ask one of his band to cover for him in Ukraine! – This was partly related to the frustrations of trying to fulfill Jonah’s request to arrange a taxi to pick them up at the airport. -- I was unable to accommodate 5; so suggested a friend & fellow host was able to take one or two. The proposition was attractive as my friend was a musical producer. However, 3 days later on arrival, immediate request for Wifi lead to one deciding to rather lodge with a family-friend; while the other 4 wanted to stay together. Thus Jonah casually told me to cancel my friend without apology or penny in compensation.. The 4 had 2 rooms, but chose to sleep 1 & 3 respectively.. So it was Joanh who OVERCROWDED the house and had to make do with a floor futon in lieu of a bed in my friend’s place. Still, I don’t believe it caused problem with the bathroom – not small by UK standards, and with shower & a bathtub, and a separate toilet - given the hours kept by Jonah’s band. And beyond a glass of water, Jonah did not wish to use the kitchen. -- This leads to Jonah’s peculiar reference to ‘RULES’, never discussed with me! In fact Jonah IGNORED the rules and rather exercised his own (Website hidden by Airbnb) by inviting several strangers at all hours of day or night, when they also created considerable NOISE in keeping others awake till 4 – 5am! Thus not surprisingly, I was more present and alert than normal. Still, contrary to my so called ‘unprovoked conversations’, it was Jonah who engaged me as he sought a last minute Bass player for his gig, and I introduced him to my friend staying here, also a professional musician! -- In sum, my experience of Jonah was a somewhat disorganized professional musician, egocentric and dysfunctional, floating around in a haze. This included his failure to respond to the recalculation of payments. He was charged for 2 rooms as per norm with additional persons, as well as additional ‘administration’ fee for my time and effort & 1 night compensation to my friend.
