Why share a space when you can stay in your own private 1BD apartment in the heart of LA! This is a spare apartment unit of mine on a property that I own. Please inquire about availability before booking.

The Space

Recently renovated 1950s upstairs duplex unit (approx 485 sq ft / 45 sq meters). The duplex is located in the back part of the property about 30 feet behind a large two-story American Craftsman-style house. The duplex building has a separate private entrance so you can come and go as you please. Perfect for solo travelers or up to four people.

Beautifully restored original hardwood flooring in the living room and bedroom and newer tile in the kitchen/bath. Ceiling fan in every room. Bathroom features hair dryer and two sets of clean towels (face+body) per guest. Bedroom features an iron and full-sized ironing board for your convenience.

There is a clear view of the "Hollywood" sign from the street in front of the property!

Guest Access

Guests have access to two (2) off-street parking spots that are on-site and adjacent to the duplex building. Guests are also free to park anywhere on the street (no permit required).

Please note that the apartment unit is on the second level of the building and is only accessible via a staircase.

Interaction with Guests

I live on the property in the main front house, but I respect the privacy of my apartment guests and try to keep interaction to a minimum. I can always be reached via phone/text/e-mail.

The Neighborhood

Arlington Heights is a 1-square-mile highly diverse neighborhood that features a mix of families that have lived in the area for generations as well as newer residents.

Numerous restaurants are located in the vicinity that appeal to different tastes. For example, "Natraliart" features delicious Jamaican cuisine and "La Cevicheria" has tasty Central American seafood grill dishes. "Taqueria Los Anaya" and "El Cholo" serve authentic Mexican food, and "Roscoe's" is famous for its chicken/waffle breakfast and 'soul food' plates. "Papa Cristo's" has amazing Greek food and is adjacent to a small Greek market.

Arlington Heights borders Koreatown, which features an endless selection of Korean BBQ/sushi restaurants, Karaoke bars, spas and other Asian establishments.

Getting around

The apartment is a few blocks from the I-10 Santa Monica freeway and close to public transportation options.

The apartment is within a short drive to Downtown, Staples Center, Los Angeles Convention Center, USC, Exposition Park, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Thai Town, Miracle Mile/Museum Mile (LACMA), The Grove, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Hollywood, Universal Studios, Culver City, Venice Beach, Santa Monica, UCLA, and the Getty Center.

Public transportation options include nearby stops for Metro Bus and LADOT DASH (Midtown Route). Metro Lines 33/733 travel to Downtown and the beach cities (Venice and Santa Monica). The LADOT DASH stop number 1425 takes you to the Pico/Rampau Transit Center, which has connections to the Big Blue Bus and Metro Bus.

Other Things to Note

High-speed Internet is available at no charge. A wireless router is located inside the unit (wireless-N, max 2Mbps download/1Mbps upload). Password will be provided upon arrival.

Tour books, maps of the area, and bus routes are in the living room and the apartment has plenty of electrical wall outlets available to charge your gadgets.

There are two laundromats conveniently located within one block of the apartment for your laundry needs.

  • I couldn't have been happier with this apartment. It was clean, had helpful amenities, and was in an extremely convenient location. Communication with Jesse was easy and he was always helpful when I had a question. Would highly recommend to anybody looking to stay in that area.

  • Jesse was a great host, the apartment is as described as mentioned in his listing the apartment is behind the main house I didn't feel intruded upon at anytime of my stay and parking was provided on the premises which was a plus for me. It's in the mid-city neighborhood which is close to the highway and made getting around for me pretty easy by car. I would recommend this apartment and wouldn't mind staying again my next time in LA if it's available.

  • The apartment was a great place to stay. Well maintained and we were minutes from the highway, so getting around was a breeze. Lot's of great street food and local businesses. Parking spot helped a ton. Would stay here again.

  • Had a wonderful stay. Clean, spacious and convenient. Right in the heart of everything. Felt safe and the neighbors were nice too. Jesse was very helpful and responded within minutes to any questions we had. I highly recommend!!!

  • It was a great stay, the apartment was clean and Jesse was a very helpful host. He answered all questions quickly and gave us some good advices for our holiday.
    At the beginning we were a bit worried about the area, but all in all we felt more or less safe. It was great to have an off street parking lot!

  • Stayed in Jesse's apartment in Mid-City. Apartment was very clean and had everything we needed plus extra's we had not anticipated. Jesse was a great host and was very quick at getting back to us with any questions that we had regarding the apartment. Unfortunately the area wasn't as nice as I had hoped and I probably wouldn't stay in this area again however, the apartment is set back from the road and felt safe.

  • I had a great experience at the Jesse's place. The apartment is exactly as the described in the pictures and communication with Jesse was great! The apartment was super clean and Jesse left all the necessary notes (wi fi password, check out instructions, maps etc) in the apartment. The location was very convenient, right off of hwy 10. I don't have any complaints, everything was great!
