Adela was very kind and the place looks just like in the pictures. Very cool and well located.
We arrived in Barcelona from Paris at 21.00 and made our way to the Barri Gothic area to meet out hosts at the apartment. Both Adela and her husband were there to meet us. They made us feel very welcome and explained how everything worked. There was a very sophisticated locking system but we soon got the hang of it! We were pleased to see that there was already some coffee and tea there. They said that anything we needed we could contact them whenever we needed. The area was a very lively area with many small supermarkets. The Santa Caterina market nearby is handy but not as local as the Boqueria. We went everyday to the Boqueria to have a glass of cava at the little wine shop to the right of the market. It was easy to make our way to the main attractions from the apartment and although we were in a lively area we did not feel uncomfortable. We were very near the Palau de Musica which was incredible when you come across it just by chance. Barcelona is a fantastic place and our friends and us had a great few days staying in Adela's loft. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very clean. Although we knew at the time of booking that the bedrooms did not have doors on, it was still a little disconcerting. The loft is actually on the ground floor and the front door opens literally onto the street. I think it must have been a garage or workshop. It felt a little strange at first but we did get used to it. There was a lot of noise either side of the house as there was a walk way or corridor each side of the loft.
Adela has decorated the apartment to the highest degree and with great taste and we did have a wonderful time in Barcelona.
Thank you Adela,
We were very well received by Adela and her husband, who explained all the things we needed to know. The apartment description was very accurate. The place itself was very nice - modern, clean, had heating (it was february). Neighborhood was quiet - small street, no cars - although you can sometimes hear neighbors, but that didn't bother us much. The alarm system is also useful, as the entrance is directly from the street. The apartment is very well located in the central, there was good food market, many small shops and cafeterias nearby.
We enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend the place to our friends.
Me, my sister and my mom stayed at this flat on the first week of February. The flat well corresponded to descriptions. We were a little surprised when we first saw that the flat was just like the entrance of the building but we always felt safe with the alarm system during day and night. The location of the flat was so central so that we didn't need to use metro, bus or any public transportation but walking. It is in the middle of the city and so close to all the small supermarkets. Kitchen utilities -sugar, tea, salt, spices, coffee other than cutlery- were equipted as well as the toiletries. You can find anything you need at the flat that would make you feel like it is home.
Apart from that Adela was so friendly and nice at us all the time. She was so supportive and helpful so that she helped to solve our problems even though it was a little late.
You can experience the life of local people and feel like you are one of them by staying at this flat. Definitely the best place to stay in Barcelona if you want to experience the city by walking and living in a nice and old neighborhood.
We (family of four with two kids, 14 and 11) stayed at Adela's beautiful flat for 3 nights during a long weekend in Barcelona.
The apartment is as described and the photos are representative. We really liked the style and the atmosphere of the flat (both esthetically and practically). We were very well received by Adela and her husband, who took the time to explain everything we needed to know even though we arrived rather late, our plane being delayed.
It is very well located to visit Barcelona and close to a metro stop and lots of small grocery shops around.
We felt safe staying there with the alarm system. The street itself is rather quiet, since pedestrian and no restaurants or bars nearby, however you can easily hear the neighbors - however being in the city, this is to be expected and didn't bother us too much. Cleanness and care for details top standard! Appreciated also the fact that toiletries (shampoo, etc..) and some kitchen basics (salt, coffee, the, sugar, even fresh milk!..) is supplied - very convenient!
We would certainly stay again if returning to Barcelona.
very accommodating and welcoming host, adela and her husband
they were ready to help with everything and give us very useful information's
I was born in Burgos, a small town in the north of Spain, but 15 years ago I live in Barcelona. I came to this city to study interior design and of course, I fall!. Now I have my family here.
I like to make small mountain routes discovering gradually the landscape and its gastronomy.
