Clean, bright, newly constructed house! Our favorite spot is the cozy front porch swing with the ceiling fans blowing a gentle breeze. The house is in a safe neighborhood and is walking distance to public transportation, parks, shops, and restaurants.
The house is fully furnished. We tried to think of everything you would need. We have a full kitchen stocked with pots and pans, dishes, etc. Large washer and dryer included. High-speed wireless internet, Direct TV, all linens, hair dryer, etc. Let us know if you need something specifically!
This property has been in our family for generations. We rebuilt the house after Hurricane Katrina. We can certainly share some of our favorite New Orleans spots and talk for hours about the fascinating city of New Orleans or we can leave you to explore the city on your own!
The Lakeview neighborhood is excellently situated. We are in a safe, residential neighborhood that is walking distance to neighborhood grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants, funky boutiques, etc. We have easy access to the Interstate/highways, airport (30 minutes), and the Super Dome and French Quarter (15-20 minutes). We are 5 minutes from Lake Pontchartrain, 10 minutes from City Park and 10 minutes from shopping in the Metairie area.
There are bus stops nearby. The Canal Street and Cemeteries Streetcar line is a 5-10 minute drive away. Free Parking is available on-site at the house.
The house includes 1 queen bed in the Master Bedroom, 2 twin beds in the 2nd Bedroom and 1 queen bed in 3rd bedroom. We also have a pack-n-play and booster high-chair available if you need it.

No smoking. Some small pets will be considered for an additional $50 fee. The house is in a family oriented neighborhood, so please be respectful of the house, our belongings, and our neighbors. I realize New Orleans is a great party town, but this is not the place to stay if you are looking to throw wild, crazy, all-night parties! Trust me, our neighbors will call the police if there is too much disruption.
We were welcomed by Rebecca's aunt and was given a history of the house. I was very impressed with how beautiful the house was and loved the front porch.
It was a great place to stay and I hope weber the chance to stay again.
Another great stay! Thank you for sharing your home with us. I love the proximity to restaurants and shopping. The house itself is very comfortable and it was a pleasure to stay in it multiple times.
We had a wonderful stay. Our host was responsive at all times. The home was lovely, large enough for three couples to have privacy and a common area in which to hang out. I loved the location, mostly because it was a true New Orleans neighborhood and not at all touristy, although we could walk to one of the finest restaurants in New Orleans (Mondo). We will be back!
This was our second time staying at Rebecca's house. Just like the first time, it was so nice to have a neat, clean, pleasant, conveniently located house to stay in. It really is a charming place!
This house is located in the quiet, safe Lakeview neighborhood of New Orleans. The images on the listing website accurately show the attractive nature of the house. It is nicely furnished with comfortable furniture and beds, and is well supplied with sheets, towels, and cleaning supplies. The kitchen and bathrooms work very well. The house is walking distance (1/2 mile) from Harrison Avenue with restaurants, coffee shops and a grocery store. Parking is on the street or in the back driveway, and driving is easy to all downtown and Uptown attractions, parks, and larger shopping and entertainment areas. We certainly felt at home staying for a 30 day respite from winter, and when we had four friends join us for a week, the house easily accommodated all six of us.
This was our second stay at this property and it was another great stay. Thanks for everything!
This was another great airbnb experience. The house was exactly as shown and truly exceeded our expectations. The house is located in a very nice upscale neighborhood and close to just about everything. Although we never met Rebecca in person, she was very helpful and communicated everything we needed to know up front. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. Thank you!

My husband and I have lived in the Washington, DC area for over 17 years. We have been on Capitol Hill for over 10 years and we LOVE it! We enjoy sharing our neighborhood with visitors because it's full of something for everyone! We also love to travel!
One of our regular travel destinations is New Orleans, LA. My family is originally from the South and we have a family home in New Orleans on property that has been in my family for decades (my grandmother grew up in the original home and lived there until Hurricane Katrina destroyed it). We have lots of family in NOLA and throughout the South who use the house frequently and we go down as often as possible for as long as possible!!
We are offering both of our homes as destinations on AirBNB -- both cities are full of so much history and fun!! We hope you have an opportunity to explore Washington, DC and/or New Orleans, LA and love them as much as we do!!
