The apartment has a great location in San Francisco's Mission District, between Valencia and Mission Street. Transportation is easy to access San Francisco and the rest of the bay area - one block from the 24th Street Mission Bart station and Muni transportation hub (25 minutes direct train to SFO airport - 6 minutes from downtown). By car, there is quick access to both the 101 and 280 freeways (heading south to Silicon Valley or North to the East Bay). The neighborhood has a lot of character, on a safe street adjacent to the lively Valencia corridor, home to diverse culture, great food, and active nightlife.
The apartment is on the 6th floor with elevator accent. It features hardwood floors, a separate fully equipped kitchen (sorry, no dishwasher), living room with dining table and couch (does not pull out, but ok for sleeping on), bedroom with queen size bed, and full bath. It's on the sixth floor of a charming, art deco building with great views and lots of light. The building itself is quiet, due to thick walls, but there is occasional street noise (though the apartment is on the 6th floor) Amenities include wireless internet, Netflix streaming, high-definition TV, DVD player, ipod/iphone dock clock radio, full kitchen with microwave (no dishwasher), linens and towels provided, elevator, in-building coin laundry, and access to roof deck with panoramic views of the city. A housekeeper comes in once a month.
Parking is on the street. There is metered parking on my street from Monday - Saturday 9-6 (after 6:00 is free) and overnight street parking is fine. Be aware of street cleanings on some mornings. Half a block from my location, there is free street parking (but with a one hour limit), you'll have to go a couple blocks for unlimited street parking. a parking garage is a few blocks away on 22nd street Between Mission and Valencia at the Mission/Bartlett Garage.
The apartment comfortably sleeps 3 (two on the bed, one on the living room couch; Please email me if you are interested prior to booking.
Hope you have a nice stay! - Matt

Having just relocated to SF for work, I was looking for a short-term sublet in the Mission that wasn't going to break my budget. Matt's place checked all of those boxes and then some. Check-in was super easy and the check-in/check-out time was flexible.
The apt is very spacious by SF standards. As noted in his description, he has Netflix hooked up as well as an Apple Airport for playing your music through the home theater system.
The laundry room can get a bit crowded on the weekends. I found it was better to do laundry mid-week to avoid the rush.
The apt is also only one block away from the 24th & Mission BART station. The area is also abundant with buses that will take you wherever you need to go in the city.
If you like Mexican food, you'll think you've fallen into burrito heaven. El Farolito (24th and Mission) at El Cancun (19th and Mission) will make your taste buds tingle, especially if you've had a few PBRs. If you're looking for a bit more of an Asian influence, Mission Chinese and Ken Ken Ramen (18th and Mission) are top-notch.
All in all, Matt was a great host and I had a wonderful experience calling his place home for a month. Highly recommended!
Matt was a wonderful host , easy to communicate with and always friendly . The house itself is lovely , it has a quaint charm to it . The building itself has an old school charm to it , very art deco , and gracious . I truly enjoyed my stay . The apartment itself is very cosy, and warm , with a lovely view. And the best part is its in the heart of mission without all the madness of it :) . i would have loved to rent an apartment in that building without a doubt .
the whole expirence , including the friendliness and courtesy of Matt made my air b and b experience wonderful .
My Hubby and i stayed at Matts for 1 week as we awaited a new apartment. we really appreciated the location (close to BART, restaurants, groceries), the space (a full sized 1 bedroom apartment!) and price (so reasonable!)
Matt was very helpful and responsive, and we very much appreciated this as we booked way last minute.
The only (minimal) downsides were: Lack of parking in the area, noise levels from the street at 5AM (as the shops start to open) and a minor plumbing issue which Matthew addressed asap.
We spent two weeks at Matt's place and found it to be in a great location. Matt has a beautiful apartment and we really enjoyed staying there. Lots of restaurants, markets and shops in the area. The BART is just down the block which was great since we only rented a car for one of the weeks we were there. We would definitely stay again.
We felt truly at home in this apartment. As mentioned by others, the location and neighborhood are terrific. The building is quiet and the 6th floor and roofdeck provide panomaric views. Matt has a wonderful book collection of great literature and Lonely Planet guidebooks to many countries. We enjoyed watching the weekend's World Cup and Americas Cup soccer games on his high quality cable tv. Although we did not have the opportunity to meet Matt in person, he checked in to make sure we were comfortable and responded almost immediately to electronic communications. I will most certainly return here on my next visit to San Francisco.
We really enjoyed very much our stay in that very comfortable apartment. The location was great, with nice cafés and restaurants around, both on Valencia and Mission Streets.
Awesome, eclectic place, in a wonderful area and interesting historic building. Matt was an awesome host, and I'd be happy to stay here again anytime!
Matt's place is right off Mission and 25th on the 6th floor. very comfortable place in a great location next to Valencia.
All was ready for us and we had no issues retrieving the key from a neighbor. The old retro elevator was great. Good guy...
