From the moment we walked into the house we knew we made the best decision for our first Hawaiian vacation. The house was so clean and exactly as described. The open room concept worked perfectly for hanging out with the family at the end of a long day. The bedrooms were plenty big enough for all five of us.
You can hear the ocean from the livingroom or you can see the waves crashing from the balcony. We used the balcony and the included bbq grill to make our first night dinner. From the first day we knew we had found our special place.
The house is in an excellent location for all you need to do. To the west was a super market, pizza place, and local Cafe. To the east was a 7-11 that had all your quick snack needs. The house is perfectly located, so close to the Polynesian Cultural Center that it only takes minutes to get there, without having all of the local traffic. We were able to get enjoy the beautiful views on Highway 83 west to the Dole Plantation and East towards Honolulu.
Walking across the street we spent the morning eating breakfast on the beach watching the sun rise over the Pacific. We spent a whole day hiking through the Hau'ula Loop trail, taking in the breath taking views. We were able to walk the two blocks from the house to the trail head.
Meg included everything we could need for our vacation. From the boogie boards (awesome waves just down the street!) to surfboards. We took the surfboard out and got my 12 year old up for the first time. It was wonderful! She also includes Snorkling gear and plenty of beach chairs for our whole family. She really did think of everything.
My last thought would be, Meg includes Sun Screen, please use it! haha. I am still fighting a sunburn cause I didn't use it. Boy will I regret that! That wonderful sun was just too inviting.
House is better than described!! Meg is a wonderful host!
This is the perfect place - ocean view on one side and mountain view on the other! We loved staying in "the country" as the locals call it. Woke up every morning to roosters crowing. Meg was very accommodating and kept in touch throughout our stay.
This house was spacious and clean. We loved having such a short walk to the beach to watch the sunrise, snorkel, or just relax for a bit. Meg was friendly and responsive. Would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a place in the country on the North Shore.
We love Hawaii and meg's Apartment make us feel like having a small home there! The Apartment was very clean and Perfect for our stay... We Loved the Big living area with kitchen and Couch together! Meg helps us whenever we had a question and were always there to ask for things To do. I would recommend this Place to everybody who is interested in a Place beside the Main tourist Road and North shore Surfer Style living Right at the next door!
We had a great time staying with Corbin and Meg. House was very comfortable and had all of the amenities covered. It is in a great location and a short walk to the beach. Check out their awesome start up Rice Love Bags! For every bag sold they donate a kilo of rice to a family in need in India. We can't wait to come back! :)
The house was clean. The beach nearest the house is rocky, so we often went a few miles north to where the children could play in the water more comfortably. Alternatively, bring some water shoes. We definitely took advantage of the sand toys that were at the property. Foodland is just a few miles north, so that was also convenient.
We really enjoyed our stay! We only stayed one night, but Meg's place was clean and as advertised. She left us chocolates for our arrival, which was a nice touch. We borrowed her boogie boards and walked down to the beach for sunrise. Very relaxed and non-touristy part of Oahu.

I grew up in the mountains of Park City and now live by the ocean in Hawaii! I love my life here on this tiny island with my husband and two kids. We love to skate, surf, snowboard, hike, and spend time as a family. We also love to travel and see different parts of the world, by renting out our house here in Hawaii this becomes possible.
