  • Our family had a wonderful time in the Hawaii Surf Inspired Home for one week on March 2014. The house was clean and fully equipped (there were even an high chair and a playpen). Meg was easy to communicate with and a warmful host. The location was perfect for us, quiet and peaceful but close enough to the attractions by car.

  • The perfect place to stay with your family. We and our kids love Meg's home. It is very family friendly and has plenty of rooms/space and inspires to surf...
The neighbors (Meg's family) is very friendly and very helpful.
We highly recommend this home and will 100% return ;-)

  • What a great place! The house was incredible. Very comfortable with everything you could need, it was so much larger than we expected.
We loved the Hauula area, Meg gave great insight into the "local" area and advise on where to go on the island. Meg was wonderful, we would definitely stay at her place again.

  • This was a great place to stay! It's located in a small city away from the tourists, literally 4 houses away from the water. From the deck(and the living room) you can see the mountains and the ocean! It was a very relaxing place to stay. Meg and her husband were very accommodating and attentive to our needs. They even let us use their surfboards! The couch was comfortable, the internet worked, the main area was spacious, and the decor was very cute! Meg even recommended a bunch of activities and things we should see.

This place totally deserves 5 stars! We had a blast! Thanks Meg!!!

  • Truly a wonderful place to stay. Meg's place is as clean and beautiful as it looks in these photos, and Hauula has become my favorite spot on Oahu: close enough for the one hour drive to Honolulu/Waikiki, a short trip to the North Shore, but truthfully, just down the street from some really beautiful, quiet beaches. It was the perfect place to bring our three and a half year old.

About two weeks prior to our arrival, Meg emailed over a three page list of beaches, restaurants, attractions and shops in several nearby towns, so we were well prepared when we got there, and we were able to through all of our "touristy" magazine lists away and mostly just follow her guide.

Beyond the photos in the description, the house is well outfitted: a great kitchen to cook in, with every tool or utensil you'd need; every bedroom has a closet with shelves and hangars (plus a washer and drier, iron and ironing board); magazines and books in the living room; a small selection of toys in the kids room; and towels, mats and sand toys in the hall closet. Meg thought of everything.

Sadly, the family was out of town when we were there, so we never got to meet them in person. The two times I felt the need to call with a question, she responded within an hour or two.

Suffice it to say, it was perfect. My family has vowed to come back as soon as possible!

  • Meg was responsive, informative, helpful and friendly. The home was what I was expecting, clean, pleasant and well appointed. Our family enjoyed the stay, and wished we could have had more time at this location, rather than Waikiki.. Beaches were amazing, and Meg pointed is in great directions.. Trust them!!

  • Meg's house gave my friends and me a truly tourist-free experience of Oahu. It was far from the frenzy of Waikiki, which is exactly what we wanted. Located nearly the gorgeous North Shore, the house was perfect for our group of five. It was well furnished and well stocked, complete with beach towels. While we didn't get to meet Meg or her family, the communication was excellent and the box of chocolate-covered macadamias unexpected and gratefully appreciated.

I/We highly recommend Meg's house and will be dreaming of it when we're back in the Northeastern tundra.

  • My family and I had a great Hawaiian vacation while staying at the Surf House in Hauula, HI. Thanks to Meg's email of suggestions on local restaurants and points of interests, we pretty much made our itinerary based off of that and were very happy with our "local" Hawaiian experience versus the "tourist" experience. We were welcomed with a personalized message and a box of macadamia nut chocolates. Meg came up to say hello and make sure we knew how to contact them if we needed anything. Corbin spoke with us a few times and gave us awesome suggestions for hiking and surfing. The kids really enjoyed the surfboard and snorkeling equipment we were graciously loaned. The water shoes supplied were put to great use at sunset each night to walk on the coral reefs in the bay across the street and explore all kinds of sealife. The house was nice and we spent a great deal of time on the front porch enjoying the views of the tropical forest on one side and the ocean on the other. The house had a charm with repurposed wood used to make the tables and headboards. The only thing that we had to get used to is the sound of roosters crowing at the crack of dawn; but we were glad for the wakeup call so we had time to enjoy a cup of coffee and walk along the beach as the sun rose. Here are the highlights: hiking Hau'ula Loop Trail (right behind the house), surfing at Castle Beach, watching pro surfers at Pipeline and huge waves hit the rocks at Sharks cove, exploring the reefs in front of the house, and eating the delicious food at North Shore Tacos, Seven Brothers, Giovanni's Shrimp Truck, and the fresh pineapple and coconut stands on the road side. It was a relaxing, fun vacation with a lot of family time and a great way to experience the Hawaiian culture. We would definitely stay at Meg and Corbin's Surf House again.

About
I grew up in the mountains of Park City and now live by the ocean in Hawaii! I love my life here on this tiny island with my husband and two kids. We love to skate, surf, snowboard, hike, and spend time as a family. We also love to travel and see different parts of the world, by renting out our house here in Hawaii this becomes possible.
