About This Listing
We look forward to meeting you! My husband and I are parents of two, one just graduated from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and the other beginning there this fall (still Going Blue!). We want you to feel spoiled a bit while here!
Large and bright living room with window seat, TV and loads of restaurant ideas, maps, and Bay Area events to peruse
Make our beautiful and spacious guest apartment your home while in the San Francisco Bay Area!
Your home away from home is located on the first floor, with separate entrance, of our Victorian home and located in sunny, suburban Burlingame, an approximately 20-30 minute drive from both San Francisco and Palo Alto. We are a 10 minute walk to the Burlingame Caltrain station, a short 15 minute drive or bus ride to the Millbrae BART station, and a 7 minute drive to SFO International Airport.
Additionally, we are walking distance to Burlingame Avenue, our friendly and fun downtown as well as Washington Park, a very complete park for kids and adults. There are fun activities for kids as well as nice restaurants, boutiques, and events for adults. Burlingame boasts fabulous farmers’ markets and art shows and concerts in the park throughout the summer, as well as street fairs and fine dining – there really is something for everyone!
Your apartment consists of a bright and comfortable living room, a quiet and cozy bedroom with a quality queen bed, and a furnished kitchen and bathroom. Provided in the kitchen is a large refrigerator/freezer, two single burner portable cooktops, a microwave, a toaster oven, a Keurig coffeemaker and an electric hot water kettle, as well as plenty of tableware. PLEASE NOTE: The full size oven/stovetop is not hooked up so minimal cooking is possible with the two single cooktop burners, toaster oven and microwave. We will provide coffee and tea supplies, a welcome basket of goodies (snacks, yogurts, milk, cereal, etc) as well as plenty of toiletries. However, in case you forget something – who doesn’t? – you can walk 5 minutes to a shopping complex with Safeway, CVS, Starbucks, and Chevron gas/petrol station!
We have a beautiful backyard with lots of flowers and trees, and a tennis wall and
ping pong table on our sport court. We encourage you to take full advantage of these, as well as our fire pit and hot tub.
Due to the drought, we are currently not able to offer laundry facilities.
- We have high-speed wireless Internet that you are welcome to utilize.
- You will have access to office facilities including printer, fax machine, and copy machine, if you do need them.
- We have provided many guidebooks and maps, but please do not hesitate to ask us about attractions – we have extensive knowledge of the whole Bay Area, from Palo Alto all the way to San Francisco. Joe grew up in SF – he’ll have you navigating like a local in no time!
- While you stay here, you are welcome to use our driveway for parking one car.
We are a fun family of four: parents Lynn and Joe, and two high school/college aged daughters. We have 1 cat (Andie) that is friendly but periodically escapes into the apartment so cat allergies beware :). We are a respectful and outgoing family and we look forward to your stay in our home!
Please enjoy the backyard area including the sport court (basketball, ping pong, tennis wall), fire pit, and hot tub! We also have a natural gas barbecue grill that we are happy to share when we are not using it.
Interaction with Guests
We love getting to know our guests but respect your privacy. I will plan to meet you when you check in and check out to visit and show you around but will leave it up to you how much you would like to chat.
We love our neighborhood because it is close to shopping yet quiet. I like being able to decide to have a Starbucks latte, take a 5 minute walk and have that latte a couple minutes later! We are central to everything. Caltrain is a 10 minute walk and downtown Burlingame is just beyond the train station where there are wonderful shops and restaurants.
All we ask for is your respect and courtesy! We have been very fortunate to have guests that respect our apartment suite and keep it clean and neat as they would their own home. Very importantly, California is in a major drought and Burlingame is under a mandatory 20% water reduction. Please help to conserve by minimizing the length of showers, turning the water off while brushing teeth, etc. Due to the water restrictions, we are not able to offer laundry facilities at this time.
In addition, please no loud music and no smoking of any kind. As much as we love animals, we do not allow them in the apartment suite to avoid any allergy issues with future guests.
Super comfy queen size bed with high quality linens. Closet with extra linens and plenty of space to hang your clothes!
I certainly recommend this property. My husband and I just completed a three night stay in this lovely home. The area is nicely appointed, very spacious, and the bed is fabulous. We are used to a king sized bed, but the comfort level made up for the smaller size. Lynn very kindly left a few staples for us: milk, cereal, yogurt, and cold beer just to name a few. The grounds are lovely. Our adult children and our grandson enjoyed the outdoor space with us. We shot "hoops" and could have used a lovely hot tub. We walked to downtown Burlingame for breakfast and enjoyed the stroll through a lovely neighborhood. Lynn and her family were extremely welcoming. I certainly recommend a stay here, and I know that we will be back .
Lynn and her family did a great job of making me feel welcome in Burlingame. He provided me with information about the home, local attractions, train schedules, and even more to welcome me!
The home was exactly as described. It was clean, comfortable, and perfect for my needs. This property is located in a great neighborhood in Burlingame. I felt incredibly safe at all times, and its location provides easy access to shopping, food, and caltrain.
Lynn is a great host. She is personable, responsive, and really puts energy into ensuring guests have a great experience. I would definitely book with her again.
My only complaint about Lynn's apartment is that it's booked too often for me to be able to stay there frequently. Everything was beyond perfect. The apartment is lovely, the bed is the best, it's very quiet, and she provides granola and fruit and milk and snacks and more, which is a lifesaver for someone like me on a busy business trip. I visit the area often and will be hoping for availability at Lynn's!
Me and my girlfriend have spend a weekend in Lynn's apartment, and it was unforgettable.
Just about 30 minutes ride from San Francisco, but the weather is absolutely different. It's always sunny there, quiet residential area with 1-2 floor houses around. So much green plants, flowers and trees everywhere! There is a nice coastal park in walking distance from the apartment where you can walk as a couple or with kids. Nice views to the bay.
The host (Lynn) is super nice person, she is so hospitable and responsive, always ready to help and give you an advise.
Lynn and her husband have welcomed us in person when we arrived, Lynn showed us the apartment and their lovely backyard which is available for guests as well. The apartment was very clean and ready for us. Lynn even put some drinks and snacks in the fridge for us, including fresh blueberries.
APARTMENT AND AMENITIES
The apartment itself is so beautiful, well decorated and equipped! It feels so cozy, I would live there for a longer period for sure! Very comfortable bed, good Internet via Wi-Fi, they even have mini stereo system with very impressive sound quality (BOSE) where you can listen to music (we were listening local radio station). Fully equipped kitchen. Lovely backyard with sunbathing chairs, table and BBQ. The apartment occupies first floor of the house (has separate entrance), Lynn and her family live upstairs.
It was lovely weekend, we are so happy that we chose Lynn's apartment for this. It really feels like you are at home! Highly recommend everyone who like quiet residential areas surrounded by plants, trees and parks.
The in law apartment of the Feeney's is very recommendable. It has a large living room with a TV, a quite bed room with a comfy bed (enough room to set up a baby bed), a well equipped kitchen and a bathroom. The patio has a whirl pool and a fire pit (we both not used very often because of the unfortunate cold weather). Their house is located ideally between 101 and Caltrain. Burlingame Ave. is about a 10 minute-walk away. Right around the corner there is a gas station, Safeway and a Starbucks. The family is lovely. Two very nice girls one just finished college and the other one High School. If we come back we definitely would return either to stay or just to visit.
A true 5 star airbnb experience! Not only would i recommend to anyone traveling to the area, but I can't wait to stay again. Lynn and her family go out of their way to make you feel at home - from snacks in the kitchen to recommendations in both the immediate area as well as SF. The space is impeccable with everything you need to work and relax. And if that's not enough, there's a beautiful backyard with gardens, hot tub, basketball hoop, and even sweet lemons!
Lynn, and her husband Joe are thoughtful, responsive hosts. Their airbnb was what we needed for a quick trip to the Bay area - clean, simple and they stocked up the place with cheese, fruit and milk, and good reading material. Thanks Lynn, for the restaurant suggestion too!
