A quaint haven from the hustle and bustle of NYC The Doremifasol offers you superb hosting, deliciously healthy breakfast, and a comfortable bed to rest your weary bones after a whole day of running around in the Greatest City in the World.
Modernized Cape-Cod style one-family home on a quiet, lushly wooded street in Montclair, approx. 12 miles (30 min.) west from Times Square. What I offer my guests is the following:
•up to two bedrooms (two more + full bath upstairs if needed for a group of 8 max.)-fresh linens and towels included
•1 full bath
•FIOS TV w/HBO, Showtime, Encore, On Demand
etc. - full deal
& unlimited land-line phone use anywhere in USA
•Internet and wifi
•Anna's Magical Breakfast (i.e. OJ, whole-groats oatmeal with a mound of berries and fruit, yogurt, wholesome toast and/or croissant, brie, jam, coffee and tea etc)
•Shared use of kitchen at times other than breakfast (by special arrangement and $5 donation per family), living room, dining room and wood deck overlooking a lush back yard
•Upright Baldwin in L.R. at your disposal
•An altogether unique and charming atmosphere and as much caring attention from me as you need to make your stay a success (which may even include drawing and painting lessons)!
10 minute walk to NYC bus, (10 seconds during rush hours; bus stops at the corner of Euclid and Grove), 15 minute walk to commuter train. Each will deliver you to the heart of the city (Times Square) within 25-45 min., depending on traffic.
There is enough room in my driveway to park 4 guest cars.
Full size pull-out sofa w/excellent memory foam mattress in one room (TV) , two single beds and no TV (yet) in the other.

My driveway accommodates four guest cars.

Montclair is a one-of-a-kind incredibly artsy and exciting town with lots of places to eat, shops, galleries, seven parks by Olmstead Brothers, four open public swimming pools, two ice-skating arenas, art museum (art classes), historic homes and iris gardens, Peak Performances at the Montclair State University and International Film Festival sponsored by Stephen Colbert, just to name a few attractions. The short commute to NYC clinches the pleasure of staying in this unique town.

The guests are welcome to use the kitchen, dining room, living room, outdoor deck, backyard and laundry facilities.
Interaction with Guests
I will be happy to provide help to you regarding transportation info, food recommendation and recreation tips.
We are 15 minutes walk from Walnut Street train Station and 10 minutes walk from the NYC commuter bus #33 or #88.
During rush hours the #66G NYC bus stops at the corner of my street.
Breakfast is served bet. 8-9am, or per mutual agreement.
$5/day additional fee will be charged for using the kitchen for cooking meals.
If used, the kitchen shall be left in the condition it was found.
We are vegetarian and we do not cook, fry or bake meat in The Doremifasol. The guests, however are welcome to consume (or order) whatever they wish (meat or fish), as long as it arrives at the house ready to eat.
We recycle paper, plastic, glass and tin.
We throw organic waste in the compost dish.
We take shoes off at the door.
We never smoke inside the house. The guests are responsible for properly discarding the cigarette butts and ashes after smoking on the terrace.
The guests are requested to bring their own laundry detergent to do their wash.
Check -in time is after 4pm.
Check-out time is 12-noon or earlier.

I am an architect and an artist. I came from Poland in 1969, graduated from Pratt Institute and later raised two amazing and successful children. I have worked most of my life in NYC in large architectural firms, and now (in this economy) I piece my income doing many creative things and running this bnb.
