At the last minute my babysitter canceled and I choose to take my 9 yr old daughter with me so that I didn't loose out on my reservation. I sent Anna an email explaining my situation and when I arrived she told me that she would still allow us to stay even though it wasn't prearranged. She not only made an extra bed with pillows for my daughter but she also gave us nice children's books to read to her at bedtime. Anna and I talked for a while and she shared with me about her life as an architect. It was nice to connect with her on a personal level. My family and I were just staying for one night and had arrived around 9:45pm. My husband was meeting me there around 11pm and Anna was happy to keep the door unlocked for him. I had a 5 am appointment the next morning but Anna offered to make breakfast for my daughter. That was so sweet. Unfortunately my daughter and husband left before breakfast to do some last minute Mother's Day shopping for me but it was a sweet gesture. I let Anna know that I would be hurrying back to check out right at noon but she was sweet enough to let me and my family take a much needed nap before we got on the road for a 2 hour drive back home. The bed was so comfortable with lots of pillows. The room was small but perfect for our original reservation of 2. We had a full bathroom all to ourselves with incredible artwork all over the walls. It was so neat to see a small basket of crayons on the sink encouraging guests to draw on the walls. I will definitely stay here again. Thanks Anna.

Anna is a wonderful host! She made special accommodations for us to arrive early because we had to attend a funeral in the area in the early afternoon. She was very friendly and attentive, welcomed us to have tea in her kitchen and served a terrific homemade breakfast including oatmeal with fresh berries, croissants and cheeses, and homemade fruit compote. We brought our small dog and Anna allowed him to walk around the house while we were there and even gave him dog treats. Our room had a comfortable bed and plenty of room to relax. There were other guests at Anna's, all were quiet and easy going. The neighborhood is residential, pretty, seemed safe, and is close to major highways. Anna's house is charming and comfortable. She creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and made us feel at home. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in this area.

Anna welcomed us in spite of the very short notice. The house was located in a lovely neighborhood, I easily walked to the center of Montclair. The room was spacious and clean. In the morning Anna prepare an amazing breakfast and we had a great chat. She is such a kind, caring and friendly person. I would definitely recommend her place. Hope we will be able to come back soon.

I am an architect and an artist. I came from Poland in 1969, graduated from Pratt Institute and later raised two amazing and successful children. I have worked most of my life in NYC in large architectural firms, and now (in this economy) I piece my income doing many creative things and running this bnb. My passions are hosting, visual arts, poetry, dance, theatre and architecture. I have an interest in Buddhism as a way of life. I am told I am a hostess with the mostest...
Besides English I speak fluent Polish, took Russian, French and German in high school and also learned some Italian along the way....
