As always, Mark has been an amazing host and his apartment has been great for us. Large, clean, modern, and perfect for our team of 6! Thank you Mark and see you next time!
My friends and I had a wonderful stay in Mark's beautiful apartment. It is very big, has great facilities and is true to pictures. It was a very easy and smooth process booking with Mark; he always responds quickly and was a very courteous host. He provided many recommendations for Paris eating and travelling which was very helpful and the apartment is a 2 minute walk to the metro so its very easy to get around. I would recommend his apartment to anyone, we had a lovely trip. Thank you Mark!
Very beautiful house
The first impression of the apartment was very good -- the host was very friendly and helpful, the location is good (in the 19th arrondissement, close to a metro station and plenty of shops) and the flat was modern and large, definitely big enough to comfortably accommodate our group of 5. Unfortunately as our stay progressed, more and more problems arose with the premises that ended up making our stay fairly unpleasant. Some minor inconveniences or issues we discovered were things like: a lot of the doors (including the front door) were not hung well, or were broken; the shower head in one of the bathrooms didn't work (and the bath didn't work either -- but this was not listed as one of the flat's features); a door knob to one of the bedrooms fell out shortly after arrival; a couple of light switch fixtures weren't attached well to the walls, etc. However the biggest issues we faced all week were to do with plumbing and sewerage… There was almost always a fairly strong sewerage smell inside the flat, centred around the hallway. Sometimes not strong, sometimes very strong. Then on our first morning there, we received a knock on the door from the angry shopkeeper below -- there was a major leak coming from the flooring below our flat that was dripping on to their freezers!! This was obviously a major problem for them and they assumed it was coming from one of our showers, so they didn't want us using it(!!). We tried being very helpful and communicative with the shop owners, but it became clear quite soon that our host did not think much about the shop owners, and had no intention helping solve the leak or communicating with them. So we were left with dealing with this issue all week… We suspected in the end that it was a leak from our kitchen sink (which BTW also had faulty piping underneath it, so a plastic bin had to be wedged under it to hold it together!!!) -- but obviously a plumber needed to be called in to just sort it out! This didn't happen the whole week. About 4-5 leak events occurred while we were there, and we were always waiting for a drama to greet us when we got home (along with the standard sewerage smell). By the end of the week, two floorboards in the kitchen also seemed to be rising due to moisture… But still no tradesperson.
Our host was not in Paris that week, which may have been bad luck as some of the issues may have been cleared quicker if he was there. We think he urgently needs to get a few things fixed in the flat before it is worthy of charging 200+ Euros a night for -- if we were in a hotel we would have asked to move or for a discount after the first night!
I am very sorry for what happened to Tracey and Thomas, indeed something went
wrong when they were staying at my apartment and very unfortunately i wasn't in Paris so i wasn't able to deal with things efficiently. I've waited until Tracey and Thomas checked out and then my building's management office sent a plumber to do some professional check ups, finally the reason for the leaking and the bad odour was found--due to a failure water pump which is hidden behind walls.
They have replaced a new pump so the leaking will not happened in the near future and the wooden floor will go back to normal after the moist has gone.
I sincere apologise to Tracey and Thomas again for this rather unpleasant experience due to the unfortunate accident during their stay.
We enjoyed the Loft for the start in 2014. Nice place, enough space, well organized! To save money, we used the kitchen a lot and had a great time in the big living room with the kitchen. The supermarket is near. But also the metro to visit the must-see.
Insider for the Louvre: Take the entrance at the lions (not the entrance at the pyramides). It was 20 Minutes instead of 4 hours waiting.
Mark ais very helpful with erverything!
Thank you Mark!
Our stay in Marks' appartement was just perfect. The loft is lovely and provided us the possibility to explore Paris as the metro station is nearby. Communicating with Mark was very easy and shift. When travelling with a large family or group of friends this is just a perfect place to start your vacation. Also, I would like to come back during summertime to sit in the cozy patio :)
We had a fantastic time in Mark's apartment. It's a beautiful place, and Mark left us a booklet with everything we needed to know! When we had a problem with the bathroom Mark made sure that it was fixed right away. Overall, fantastic experience. Would definitely recommend this apartment to others!
Super nice apartment! Will definately stay there again if given the chance and will definately recommend this place to my friends!
We spent a few days in Paris in Mark's lovely apartment on Rue Petit. Our party had five adults and Mark's apartment had ample space for all of us and could easily accommodate at least six people. The apartment was clean, Mark was very communicative, and he was exceptionally well organized. He provides a black book that gives you basically all of the information you will need to make full use of the apartment.
While Mark could not be there to greet us himself, he had his friend Jing there to greet us and help us get settled in. The neighborhood doesn't necessarily have a lot of old-world charm, but it will give you a good impression of daily life in Paris. The apartment is situated quite closely to metro stops and the efficient rail system will get you everywhere you need to go in Paris without having to pay the exorbitant prices necessary to stay in the city center.
The pictures provided represent the apartment accurately. We felt the apartment was a great value, especially for a larger group because it is really very large, has quality appliances, beds, and showers, and it also has a lovely terrace. We had a great experience staying in Mark's apartment, and Mark himself communicates promptly and puts forth a lot of effort to make his guest's stay enjoyable.
