The Space

The Beach Bungalows is a cozy alternative hotel consisting of four raised teak bungalows, conveniently located near the beach. Each bungalow is fitted with a queen-size bed, ceiling fan, mini-fridge, full shower bath, and a safe box for your valuables. On the lower llevel, each bungalow has a personal lounge area near the pool, with daybeds or hammocks perfect for relaxing after a fun day at the beach!

n effort to reduce energy consumption, we decided not to install televisions or air conditioners in the bungalows, but there is a comfortable common area with a/c and a flat screen cable tv in the event your favorite team has a match you just can't miss! We also have wi-fi available on the property, a refreshing pool, and a common kitchen area and barbecue grill for guest use. Come kick off your flip flops, stay with us and enjoy all Tamarindo has to offer. Our friendly labradoodle Parker may even bring you a beer if you ask her nicely!

The Beach Bungalows provides its guests with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience beautiful Costa Rica. Close to restaurants, bars, boutiques, and grocery stores and only a few minutes’ walk to the beach, the Beach Bungalows provides a real "get away" feel, with its unique garden setting and visiting monkeys.

We also have installed a state of the art water treatment system that allows gray water to be used for irrigation, helping to conserve precious resources, and a water purification system that makes the water from all taps drinkable.

Whether you want to scuba dive, surf the day away, zipline or just take in the sun, Beach Bungalows is the perfect spot to be! We can help you book your adventures and then provide a comfortable spot to relax at the end of an amazing day! And with our magic jack connection, you can make free calls to the US and Canada to tell your friends about your adventures.

Let our intimate tropical setting with just four custom cabinas built from local sustainable teak -- each with a bedroom and bathroom upstairs, an in-room fridge, a safe for your valuables, and a separate outdoor lounge area near the pool with hammocks and day beds or lounge chairs -- be the base for your Costa Rican adventure!

  • We were warmly greeted! A lot of information on where to eat, activites to do, and rental options. the bungalows were amazing and just right for a couple. The pool was refreshing and cleaned several times a day. The breakfast served was so delicious and made with love! great cooks! Great breakfast conversations and excellent location. A 2 minute walk into town and just enough away from the busy streets in town. I highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about staying in Tamarindo!

  • The Beach Bungalows was such a great place to stay!
Trish is such an outgoing and fun person, and Claudio is so kind and sweet. It was our pleasure to have met such a wonderful couple.
We arrived in the middle of the afternoon and it was extremely hot! After offering us a nice cold beverage, Trish gave us a run-down of the best places to eat in Tamarindo (and there's a lot!)
I have to admit that I was a bit concerned at first about the place not having any AC because it was so hot in the afternoon, but Trish assured us that it cools down a lot in the evenings and she was right! A wind picks up at night and that combined with the fans in the room was just perfect. In fact, we often had to turn the fan off in the early morning. The bungalow was clean and I love the design! The Beach Bungalows reminded me a bit of Bali.
The pool was so wonderful to have for cooling off mid-day. We loved hanging out in our private lounge area just reading and hanging out, and it was also great that if we wanted to socialize, we could join the others on the patio. Too bad we couldn't stay longer, we were a bit shy and really didn't get a chance to get to know the other guests until our second last day there.
Our last night there was really memorable for us. We had a late lunch so just decided to have fruit and guacamole for dinner, which was kind of a mistake because we were hungrier than we thought by that time and everyone so graciously shared their food with us. Trish and Claudio offered us some steak and roasted tomatoes! It was easily the best dinner we had at Tamarindo. The food was great and so was the company.
We definitely recommend staying here. You have privacy, but if you want you can also meet some great people. This is the best of both worlds.

P.S. Somehow, I didn't realize that breakfast was included, but that was a nice surprise for us! The breakfasts were really yummy!

  • My girlfriend and I stayed with Trish for 4 nights, and we had an absolutely perfect time. The drive from Liberia was fast and smooth, and we arrived to Trish smiling and holding cold cans of Imperial. The bungalows are really comfortable and private, and the pool is lovely. Trish's breakfasts were sensational—local organic goat's yoghurt, the most delicious mangos I have ever had, honey from bees that pollinate coffee plants, and much more besides. The location is also fantastic: it's a short walk to the beach and local restaurants, but far enough away to be quiet and private. Finally, I should mention that Trish's boyfriend Claudio fixed a flat tire on our rental car and refused to let us pay him for it. All in all, if you are visiting Tamarindo you should look no further and reserve a bungalow here. We'll be back!

  • I stayed at the beach bungalows in the first week of March. This is a great facility and Trish is a great host. Its a short walk away from the main street, which means it's not loud at night when you need sleep. The breakfast is amazing and Trish's dogs are super cool.

We hadn't planned much when we came to Tamarindo and Trish gave us great recommendations for places to visit. Try the restaurant with live music in front of the bungalows (I ordered a filet mignon and it was pretty good!), Nabbana restaurant on the beach for a sunset, Lola's at Playa Avellanas a different day (if you have a 4 x 4 since the road is rough) and Conchal beach. We also played mini golf one night at the facility close by.

    Thanks for hosting us Trish!

  • Trish and Claudio were the best hosts. The hospitality and casual ambience made us feel like we were part of a group of friends on holiday. So much so so that we lost track of time and thought we had one more day to go before our departure until we got up on Monday morning and reality hit us.

Look forward to going back to get our diving certification with Claudio.

Will recommend this quaint and relax little gem of a B&B to my friends and family.

  • Our stay at Trish was really a delightful experience. We had a blast at the beach bungalows. Trish and her team are very attentive and made this a nice homefeel place. Sitting together the evenings chatting over ideas and world politics with other guest was really nice. The wooden cabins are well maintained and give you a jungle feeling. The hammock underneath is the best! Loved it! There is restaurants and stores just a few minutes walking away. Thanks Trish and team for a great time. Hope to see you again

  • The Bungalows are beautiful and tidy. The overall experience was a great one. With access to a private pool, being able to (website hidden) or call home for free, and breakfast; made our stay even more comfortable. The only thing is to be prepared for outside/nature sounds but we never had a problem falling asleep. Was a really fun experience and we loved our room. Great location and great hosts.

  • We had a blast at the beach bungalows. It was the perfect place to start are honeymoon off. Unfortunately Trish was not there but she was so helpful setting us with a transfer from the airport to the bungalows and with any other questions we had before we got there. When we got there Claudio was there to greet us and show us around. He was super nice and so helpful setting up day trips for us. The place itself was so amazing had everything we needed. We can't wait to visit the beach bungalows again!!!

  • The Beach Bungalows are exactly as advertised. Everyone is exceptionally nice! I was not able to meet Trish but corresponded with her through Airbnb, text and email. She is amazingly fast at responding! Mateo was there to great me at 11pm when I arrived, and is great to chat with. I dove one day with Carlos, and the experience was very professional. The grounds keeper and Maria keep the place spotless and are ready to help at any moment! The morning breakfast is more than enough to keep you going till noon. Despite the lack of AC the room cooled off nicely at night, being elevated it had a nice breeze. Being well ventilated also made it easy to hear the sounds of Tamarindo and it does take awhile for the town to decide to sleep. It also wakes up quite early, the howler monkeys insist on conversing with the dogs about 6am, but it is a great way to realize you are in Costa Rica first thing in the morning. ha. I enjoyed my stay and I am sure you will as well.

taking a break in sunny Costa Rica
I love travelling, new adventures, my dogs, and getting to know people from different places around the world. While taking a break from my legal career, I wound up in Costa Rica taking surf and Spanish lessons and fell in love with the beautiful beaches, amazing surf, fabulous scuba diving, and wonderful people!! After several months in Tamarindo, I decided to look for my own piece of paradise and knew as soon as I saw it that the Beach Bungalows was the place for me. I would love to have a chance to share this magical place with you!
