  • My stay was excellent. Peter, his partner and his two dogs are lovely (they live next door). The house I stayed in was small but classy, clean, fully equipped and very homely. The spa/social area is great, I had a drink out there every night. The area is fantastic: walking distance from very good bars and cafes. I've stayed in a bunch of Airbnb's around east LA and this was definitely my favorite so far.

  • We drove down from the Bay Area for a visit to LA, and couldn't have been more pleased with Peter and his place (and his puppies). He was friendly and low-key, the apartment charming, clean, and comfortable. The spa deck/hot tub was especially enjoyable. The place is in a great location, close to a lot of good bars and restaurants, about which Peter had left us a very helpful list of recommendations. Would definitely recommend.

  • Peter was a gracious host. My husband and I arrived to flowers, ground coffee/cream, wine, and beer. He was easily available for assistance if we needed him. The apartment is located on a quiet street and the sound of traffic was dulled by a fountain (during a water shortage in California it is important to note that the water recycled through the fountain!). The shared deck was a pleasant place to sit and read; we ate dinner around the table on the deck several times during our stay. The apartment is small but well kept and clean, and the kitchen and bathroom were well-stocked with all the essentials so we didn't have to purchase them (e.g., dish washing soap, kleenex). Off-street parking was a plus, and the location was perfect for our needs.

  • We loved staying at Peter's place! It seriously felt like a little home away from home. So comfortable, private, designed with attention to detail. He definitely puts effort into making his renters happy and comfortable with much consideration! He had everything covered, coffee, beer, fresh towels, toiletries. It was wonderful. I'd definitely book with Peter again when I return to LA. Thank you!!

  • Peter's place in Silver Lake was the perfect LA hideout, with a sunny, relaxing terrace area and a modern, clean apartment. We were able to cook, relax and have a drink in the sun at this chilled out gettaway. Peter made every effort to make us feel welcome and comfortable and the easy access to lots of restaurants and bars in Silver Lake meant that we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in LA.

  • What a great spot! I really enjoyed my stay at Peter's, location is perfect, just a few minutes walk from the great restaurants, cafes and shops of Silver Lake.
I do not drive and I was able to enjoy LA with the many buses running on Sunset, or the various car companies.
The apartment is well equipped, with every modern appliance you could need. Netflix and wi-fi worked perfectly, bed is comfy, what more could you ask for! Perhaps an outdoor jacuzzi?Oh wait Peter's place also provides that, brilliant!
Next time I come to LA I will make sure that Peter's apartment is available before I even book my flights.

  • Peter's place was perfect! It had plenty of space for two people, and the outdoor sun deck, hot tub, and fire pit can't be beat! Peter couldn't be a better host- he was available to offer suggestions and help us get settled, but gave us complete privacy. Location was great too- lots of options for restaurants and shops just a few minutes walking down to Sunset. Peter made our first experience with AirBNB a great one.

  • The space is great- small but very conveniently located to all the attractions in Silverlake. Peter provides a great and humorous guide to area restaurants that we greatly appreciated. Its nice having the hot tub available as well. The bathroom is on the small side and in need of some updating but this should not deter from booking the space.

  • First of all Peter is a great, friendly, helpful, and responsive host! He had a list of local attractions/food/drink placed ready for us with notes about the neighborhood. He was available via phone/text and overall super kind and hospitable. He also has two beautiful and friendly dogs!

Peter's house was a perfect place for us to stay in LA—it's located in the heart of Silver Lake, walking distance to many restaurants, bars, coffee shops etc. He also has a space to park your car, which comes very handy after hours of driving around.

The outside deck with the jacuzzi is just fantastic--it's like a little, quiet haven after an intense day!

Shortly: Peter is a perfect host and his house was an ideal fit for our stay. Highly recommended.

About
Peter grew up in Australia and moved to New York under the guise of graduate study two decades ago. He lived, loved and worked in New York for ten years before surrendering to the sun-shiny ease of Los Angeles and a job producing bad studio television. These days he works from home and enjoys occasional bursts of gardening and puttering about locally. He finds the running of menial errands quite soothing. He retired from producing and currently ascribes to being part of that soloist, dawdling, covert and best of all, immeasurably vague profession, "Writer." Peter is as gay as the day is long but very straight friendly. Some of his best friends fall into the frighteningly straight category. He lives in a house at the back of the properties with his trusty side-kick, Deebo Brown - a placid and lovable large brown dog, gentle and loving to babies, children and people of all religious and political persuasions. Together they are determined to use their Aussie and Canine genetics for good, not for evil and to help make your stay great. Feel free to ask any questions you have about us or the property you are looking at booking. We really do try to make your stay memorable in the loveliest way. That might be setting the bar overly high but we really are believers in bars on the highest setting. Please let us know if anything is not as impressive as it sounds or looks.
