Great place, excellent location, for the most, it was great. Things that can improve: Fan location (so the air actually reaches out to the beds in the night), maybe a small TV screen and parking.

Excellent location in Puerto Viejo, nearby a great cafe across the street, and a bicycle and scooter rental nextdoor. Walk to the beach in minutes. Nice lounge area and good wifi. Excellent value overall. Also thank goodness for the mosquito nets over the beds, and the ceiling fan. Danke Heidi!

On our travel through costarica we visited a few hostels, we always booked 2 -4 nights and were happy to go to the next stop! Not this time, we had to extend our stay.. :) the hostel of Heidi is on a very nice location, you have realy good restaurants, the best bakery and some good waves very close! The room got cleaned every day and Heidi was the most friendly host we had untill now! :) we would recommend this hostel to everyone!

The room was great and everything worked well with check in and check out. We didnt really get to meet Heidi or the other staff to get a proper hosting experience so it felt more like booking any hostel. If you don't expect a super personslised experience I would recommed this place.

We were for only one night in the room of Heidi. The room is nice, spacious and clean. Unfortunately, we don't really met Heidi. But we were welcomed by her husband and felt comfortable. From the house everything is within walking distance. It lies on the main road, but in the room you can hear no traffic. Everything was good!

We'we been one week at Coconut Cabinas and it was everything perfect. The room were clean, a big kitchen was always disponible and Heidi was really helpful and always ready to chat a bit and explaining stuff. I really suggest this place and I'll come back!

Upon arrival, we we're escorted to our room. Very cute, quaint, and convenient location. Close to restaurants, cafe's, bars and shops, beach was directly across the street. Bike rentals directly out front. We were pretty much in between most of our point of interests, Playa negra, playa punta uva, playa manzanillo, and jaguar rescue center. Our host Heidi, came to greet us once we settled into our room. She was nice. Didn't see her around too much, maybe because we had an activity that lasted the whole day, everyday we were there. Our room had the "suicidal" shower head... didn't know how to work that thing so we basically showered in cold water the whole time, we didn't mind because it was extremely humid and hot. I would definitely come back and stay again. I recommend this place to backpackers, people who are traveling on a budget, and people who are not planning to stay in their room all day.
