Chiospetrino is a stone house built in the 1860's, in the medeival, mastic producing village of Vessa, on the island of Chios in the Aegean Sea of Greece. To Petrino has been renovated to provide all the comforts of a pleasant stay whilst maintaining its traditional character. Each room has a private bathroom, air conditioning, mini kitchenette or fridge, hair dryer, television.
Chiospetrino is about 25 minutes away from the airport and the port of Chios. It is in the mastic cultivating region of the island, the only place unique mastic is cultivated in the world. It is 5 minutes drive to the beach of Lithi, a golden sandy beach with crystal blue waters, and tavernas alongside the coast where one can enjoy local food and drinks.
There are numarouw monasteries one can visit, one of which is Nea Moni, with a beautiful drive.On the way one can stop at Aygonima and Anavatos two more medieval villages with a breathtaking view. Further on to the city of Chios there are a number of museums, the Korais Library, clubs and cafes, internet cafes and more.
Furthermore one can take daily trips to Oinnousesor Psara, or even to neighbouring Turkey. It takes a 45 minute ferry ride to arrive in Tsesme, where there are buses waiting to take you to Izmir for the day, which also takes about 45 minutes. Tickets and bus tickets and return are a package deal. Arrival back to Chios is around 6 in the afternoon.
