The Space

THE SAME LUXURY AS MY WATERFRONT VILLA SUITE...JUST A SMALLER NEST FOR THOSE ON A MODEST BUDGET! In addition to my 2nd Floor Guest Suite, I have a cozy first floor Study with Chair-and-a-Half Twin pull-out with comfy Mitchell Gold mattress purchased from the Ritz-Carlton in Amelia Island. Features include double sliding glass doors with a view of a lovely courtyard with foliage, flora, birds, squirrels and geckos.

Enjoy all of the amenities of this lovely, elegant Tommy Bahama inspired Waterfront Villa with a view of the Sawgrass Golf Course located in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach just minutes to the Beach! Just a short stroll to the end of the street is the community pool.

The Study is small and cozy (11x12), and features Wi-Fi, (no TV, but you are welcome to enjoy the living room unit), a half bath across the hall, and use of the upstairs Guest Bath if the Guest Suite is not occupied. If the Guest Suite is occupied, I offer use of my personal Master Suite Bath/Shower. You will have your own personal towel rack with lots of fluffy towels, and personal shower caddy with soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, and your own personalized basket for your toiletries. I'm off to work by 8am and home by 6pm, so you'll have it all to yourself during those hours, and when I’m not utilizing it during evening hours. There is a chest of drawers in the foyer for your clothes, and ample room in "The Beach Closet" for your hanging clothes and luggage. So far, all of the Airbnb guests have loved the coziness and budget-friendly value of this accommodation!

As any "pull-out sleeper-type mattress", it does not provide the same back support and comfort as the conventional plush pillow-top Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress in the Guest Suite upstairs, but this one is "top of the line" and somewhat thicker, so it's great for a short stay.

Proximity of your Room: The Study is located downstairs in the front of the villa. It does not have a door, but has a privacy drape which provides complete privacy. I work full-time, and have lots of hobbies, so even though this is advertised as a "Private Room", you will enjoy most of the "Entire House" and common areas and will have the place to yourself most of the time. I'm attentive, but not intrusive. I will be delighted to show you around the area.

The kitchen (email hidden)/wet bar is a few steps down the hall from your room. Includes Continental breakfast, coffee & teas, toast, English muffins, jams & jellies, yogurt, bottled water. I love to bake, so there may be homemade banana bread, coconut pound cake, lemon bars or cobbler. If you prefer a gluten-free, GMO-free, no-grains diet and prefer smoothies for breakfast, I have a great blender, and offer Silk or Blue Diamond Almond milk, and organic Decaf coffee. The Publix and The Fresh Market are just a couple blocks away for a variety of fresh produce, and healthy goodies.

Convenient to shopping, dining and night life. For a heartier appetite, enjoy a scrumptious breakfast, brunch or lunch at the famous Beach Diner or the Starbuck's just across the street from the subdivision entrance. There is also a McDonalds just a block away. There are 1,530 restaurants within a 15-mile radius of the villa!

You are welcome to use my beach cruiser to explore the area or ride to the beach.

This is the perfect vacation getaway spot for beachgoers, outdoor enthusiasts, sportsmen, historians, and golfers. The water is hypnotic, and the sunsets mesmirizing. You will feel immediately relaxed and embraced by this tranquil space!

Please visit my other Guest Suite listing - "Waterfront Villa Suite - Beach & Golf" for more details about the area and accommodations.

Guest Access

Guests will have access to all common areas - the living room, dining room, main kitchen, and screened lanai and deck.

The Neighborhood

THE UNIQUENESS OF THIS ACCOMMODATION IS UNPARALLELED IN VALUE, QUALITY AND PRICE - The ambience, tranquility, water view, privacy, romantic setting, exposure to wildlife, close proximity to the beach, golf, TPC Sawgrass, shopping, dining, nightlife, and safe gated security make this the PERFECT VACATION RETREAT!

Getting around

I typically call "Mo" with Beaches Shuttle which dispatches from Jacksonville Beach. I have a special discounted rate with Mo, and he is the most reasonable, reliable and punctual. He will pick you up from the Jacksonville Airport Baggage Claim area, and deliver you right to my door in a clean, quality custom passenger van.

  • My stay with Cris was incredible. She literally provides 10 star service. Some AirBnB spots are just that--spots you can stay. But Cris' place is much more. She loves the AirBnB culture and she creates an incredible atmosphere to make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive at her place. In regards to the space, her place is very clean and welcoming. The screened in porch sits on a private lake, overlooking the golf course. It's a perfect place to read, write, contemplate the finer things in life, etc :) I told Cris that her place is where I'll direct all of my friends and family to stay when they visit the area. Oh and the best thing--Cris is amazing!!!! A beautiful person.

  • Cris was incredible. I frequently stay in nice hotels all over the world and I have never been treated as kindly as Cris treated me. She doe not overlook a single detail and I was completely relaxed.

  • I had a wonderful stay with Cris, Paul and Bud the cat last week in Ponte Vedra. I was in town for a week to work at The Players Championship and the property was ideally located for all my needs. Cris was a wonderful host and made sure my stay was as comfortable and nice as possible. The room was small but met all my needs. The sleeper chair/couch was very comfortable. I had to share a bathroom but that was no problem. The Villa is in a beautiful area. I had full access to the kitchen which was great. Paul even made me a 'Bulletproof Coffee' one morning. Bud the cat talked to me a lot and was a great pal for the week. Will definitely be back if I can. Overall a great Airbnb experience.

  • I want to start this review with a few words about Chris, the lovely host of this airbnb.
Chris takes it upon herself to make your stay to be the best airbnb experience you have ever had. And she is a success of achieving this. Everything she does is so adorable and considering. She goes beyond everything I thought of staying at an airbnb. She gets my highest and warmest recomendations as being a super host! Both for being who she is but also for the lovely room I was staying in( she even upgraded me to the suit) the breakfast, leaving notes for what i could have for lunch, offering in so many ways. Chris respects your privacy but also offers you company if you want. She is generous and to be serious, you want to hang out with her,she is awsome, smart, funny!
Everything she offers in her profile is for real!
If I ever go back to Florida this is where i would go!
Chris, I do consider you as a good friend and I hope we stay in touch!

made it my mission to make your Airbnb experience the best ever! I just treated you like I would a daughter coming home from college. Thank you for the beautiful scarf! I am wearing it today, and I will think of you and our wonderful visit each time I wear it. Travel safe, enjoy your adventures, and reuniting with special friends!! Miss you already!

  • I came in after being trapped in a hotel room for a week and was dying to find a host who wouldn't mind if I used her kitchen. Chris was so accommodating and warm. I had a wonderful stay and hope to return. The home is quiet and quite inviting with a great cat named Bud and a great view. Wow, I didn't know I had a home in Florida but now I know I do. Thank you, Chris.

Danny, thank you for the great review! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, and it was wonderful to meet you and hear about your life as a PGA TOUR caddie, and talking about golf! I loved the beef jerky! Anytime you're back down this way, you are welcome to stay. Meanwhile, stay in touch and have fun in your travels! All the best to you Danny! Cris

  • I had an amazing time staying with Cris. Not only the place is beautiful but she will make you feel right at home. She will definitely go the extra mile to pamper you and offer you the most hospitable spot away from home. The villa is very cozy, quiet and has a gorgeous view! She also provided me with maps and flyers and information about the area and was at all times beyond helpful.
I'm so glad to have met her, I will definitely go back at some point and highly recommend anyone to stay with her. I also had the privilege to meet a wonderful couple from Tallahassee, Mary Ellen & John, also guests of Cris and we all had a great time.
Nevertheless, I need to point out, that she took the time to even offer a late night snack for us after we attended Mumford and Sons concert in St Augustine!

Please hurry back and stay in touch and let me know about all of the fun and exciting things you're doing! Big hugs my sweet girl! Cris

  • Cris is the most phenomenal host! Staying with Cris in Ponte Vedra was my first AirBnB experience—and what an introduction! To begin with, Cris responded to my booking enquiry immediately and I was able to arrive with just two days notice! Cris’s home is lovely, so beautifully presented and has such a feeling of warmth. Then of course there is Bud, Cris’s very friendly cat companion! Cris is welcoming, charming, helpful and so respectful—whether you would love to sit and have a wonderful chat (Cris has so many interesting stories to share!) or prefer privacy to do your own thing. She has truly thought of everything to help make her guests time enjoyable; from lovely breakfast supplies to a beach kit! I didn’t have transport of my own and Cris generously allowed me to use her bike. The surrounding estate is just gorgeous and I had the best time scooting from the shops to the beach (which is only 10 mins on the bike along safe roads/footpaths) during my six-night stay in August 2013. Certainly hope to get back to Ponte Vedra and visit Cris again!

  • There are not enough words to describe this wonderful woman! Cris is very very thoughtful, caring and generous and I truly felt like a daughter in her beautifully decorated home! Without asking for it, Cris prepared me a delicious dinner when I arrived and we talked and shared lifestories and experiences, something I will cherish for life! Cris also gave me maps and information about the area and she even had a "beach-closet" full of things for me to borrow to the beach. The area were Cris lives is very quiet, safe and beautiful and it is close to the ocean and long beaches. Another thing worth seeing is the pond/lake at the back of her house where you can feed turtles and even see an alligator or two! I very much recommend Cris as a hostess! Next time I will stay with Cris longer! / Debora

  • I have been many times to Jacksonville and St Augustine and must admit this was by far the best place, well better than described and very cost efficient, which Cris makes sure to be always in immaculate conditions. The suite, like the whole house, is beautifully decorated, very roomy with a large walk in closet, private bathroom/minibar and private terrace. Great quality linen and plenty of clean towels, fresh water, etc.
There is a separate room downstairs where I hosted a friend for a few days. Large garage space with remote and the living room viewing the screened terrace with the water views just make it a place you don’t want to leave, beautiful sunsets, birds and water animals at the porch.
For sure, the best location: I was 4 minutes to the beautiful and clean Ponte Vedra Beach and to world class golf courses, Sawgrass, TPC, restaurants and more. There was a bicycle I used to the beach and the beautiful neighbourhood, very safe and clean. Also minutes to Jax Beach, to the large St Johns Shopping mall, movie theaters, etc. I also made some awesome daily trips to St Augustine, where the accommodations are not as good and well overpriced but only 25 mins drive and a great place to spend the day, with many attractions, beach, marinas, a variety of stores and restaurants (The oldest city in USA).
And I just could not go without mentioning the host. Cris is a wonderful person whose natural kindness makes her the perfect host. She went beyond herself making sure my stay was well above expectations with constant attention to my daily needs, plentiful breakfast.
I have no words to further describe my stay and not only recommend this place as I will definitely come back for a longer stay. Thank you Cris for the warm and amazing experience at your place, a 6 Star accommodation!

I'm excited to welcome you as my Guest, and introduce you to the local culture of this gorgeous, natural coastal area! While I've been hosting and entertaining for years, I discovered Airbnb last year, and fell in love with the concept. My long time friends who know me well, say that they feel as if they're in a "Bed & Breakfast" when they visit me...truly the ultimate compliment! (email hidden), I know it's all about the "hospitality". I am a very nurturing host, and with my passion for decorating, cooking, and socializing, I'm confident that you'll feel right at home in my tranquil space. My work and hobbies keep me engaged, so you will enjoy plenty of alone time. I am attentive, but not intrusive. I will welcome you upon arrival and will be delighted to show you around the area. I'(email hidden), born and raised in Atlanta, where I spent most of my life, before moving to Ponte Vedra Beach 5 years ago. I'm 59, single, and share my space with my cat Bud who thinks he is a dog. (He was raised with two 100 lb. Yellow Labradors.) While in Atlanta, I worked in the corporate world, and have owned my own interior design business for 30 years which enabled me to embrace my passion and build three custom homes, and renovate numerous others. Several of my designs were featured in Atlanta Homes magazine. Airbnb hosting is the perfect creative outlet for me. I traveled the U.S. from coast to coast, Canada and Puerto Rico with my husband before losing him to Cancer 10 years ago. I later traveled to the Bahamas, and Positano, Italy, on the Amalfi Coast, Naples and Rome. Italy is my favorite destination thus far, and Tuscany, Venice and Florence are next on my list, as are Paris, Belize, St. Maarten, Costa Rica, California wine country, The Adirondacks, and the Grand Canyon. There are many destinations I long to visit, and being an Airbnb host enables me to meet new people, learn about their cultures and share their travel experiences before embarking on my own. I will definitely utilize Airbnb for my lodging! I'm currently in marketing in the golf industry, to promote the game of golf, the preservation of golf history, and honoring golf's greatest contributors. My profession enables me to work closely with the PGA TOUR, and serve as liaison for professional golfers when visiting locally. I also coordinate marketing through the Florida Visitors and Conventions Bureau and the Florida Attractions Association to promote tourism, so I can provide you with plenty of brochures, maps and suggestions on fun things to do if sunning, swimming, shelling, and hunting for sharks teeth isn't quite enough! In my spare time, I play piano and guitar, and enjoy painting, drawing, sewing custom decorative items for the home, reupholstering, refinishing and repurposing old furniture. I love power tools and DIY projects! I enjoy gardening, gourmet cooking and entertaining, trying new wines, traveling and exploring new places, and meeting new people from different cultures. But most of all, cultivating new friendships, and expanding my cherished circle of friends. As your host, I'm extremely friendly and laid-back with a zany sense of humor. I've lived through a lot of stuff, so not much bothers me. I will treat you like family once you arrive, so don't be shocked if you run into me in my PJ's at the coffee pot in the morning or grabbing a late night snack...that's just how I roll. Feel free to be yourself and make yourself at home while you are here. Life is too short to worry about the small stuff. My goal is to make your stay the best, most comfortable, and most memorable Airbnb stay EVER! FAV MOVIE - "Under the Tuscan Sun". Diane Lane takes a spontaneous trip to Tuscany after a divorce, falls in love with a Tuscan villa, buys and renovates it. I could SO totally do that! A FAV BOOK is, "Unpacking your Bags" about detaching yourself from so many possessions, so you live a simpler, less stressful life and gain freedom to travel without excess baggage. (Hmnn....I'm working on that.) FAV SHOWS - I love Modern Family, and don't laugh, but "The Millionaire Matchmaker" on the Bravo Channel. It's hilarious, and ironically, I've picked up a few really great dating tips! My latest favorite is "Treehouse Masters" with Pete Nelson, Master Treehouse Builder. Amazing stuff! I've already designed mine and it is on my "Bucket List"! FAV MUSIC - Tommy Emmanuel, Mumford & Sons, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, Bruno Mars, Lady Antebellum, Adele, Eric Clapton, The Stones, Tom Petty, Miranda Lambert, Dire Straits, B-52's, Tim McGraw, Pink Floyd. FAV FOOD - Broccolli - great anti-oxidants! Coastal cuisine - anything with claws or fins! Crabcakes with a Buerre Blanc sauce and Corn Relish. My grandmother from Maryland who lived to be 93, made the best crabcakes ever! A FEW OF MY LIFE MOTTOS... *Live life as if each day were your last, dance as if no one were watching, keep your heart open to new friendships and love. *Perform at least one good deed every day. *The only difference between a good day and a bad day is your attitude. *Laughter is the best medicine, so over-medicate every chance you get! *It's okay to eat your dessert first! MY FAVORITE QUOTE... Frederico Fellini: "You have to live spherically - in many directions. Never lose your childish enthusiasm - and things will come your way."
