I prefer spending my time at Uppana relaxing, going on forest hikes, fishing, and unwinding. For me, it’s a place where all the hustle and bustle stops. I hope that all my guests can experience the same. Heat up the sauna, enjoy the views, and relax in the outdoor hot tub, where you might catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights at their best. Located on the shore of Lake Marrasjärvi, the cabin offers the perfect place to relax – reindeer often wander nearby, bringing nature close. We built the cabin with the idea of combining all the modern luxuries with old traditions.
Uppana is within driving distance of Rovaniemi Airport, and day trips to ski resorts like Levi, Ounasvaara, and Ylläs are easily doable. For visitors from afar, Santa Claus Village and, most importantly, the peace and quiet of the area will surely delight.

Historical Touch
Uppana is much more than just a cabin – it’s a piece of history. Originally a crown forest croft built in 1901, it has evolved over the years into a peaceful retreat where generations have lived and worked. Uppana is originally my mother's grandmother's home, and I've promised my own grandmother to restore it to its original glory. The current cabin still stands on the same land, and its long history is reflected in the surrounding nature, buildings and landscape.

From the yard, you can head straight onto the ski trails on Lake Marrasjärvi, hike in the nearby forests, or simply relax and watch the reindeer that often visit the property. No public transportation: You can only reach the area by car, but the scenic views along the way are worth it.
