If you are interested in this house please send me a private message to enquire about availability before you book!
This is a wonderful home suitable for up to four people (or 5 if you don't mind a sofabed!). It is fully furnished and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. There are two double bedrooms with a shared bathroom. The Kitchen is stocked with equipment and utilities including a washing machine and dryer. There is WiFi available. We have a great little patio garden and in the good weather there's nothing better than relaxing or cooking up a barbecue out there. It's a non-smoking house but the patio is a grand spot for it.
In the neighbourhood you can enjoy the Royal Canal and the really beautiful glasshouses at The Botanical Gardens, as well as taking in the Glasnevin Cemetery tour. For anyone interested in a bit of Irish History or genealogy the museum boasts the "Best Small Museum in Europe" award and is one of Trip Advisors top recommendations for anyone visiting. Any Dubliner will tell you that 'The Gravedigger's Pub' is one of the oldest and best in the city, it even gets a mention in James Joyce's 'Ulysses'. If you want to experience authentic Irish ambiance it's a must (and we live right on the square beside it!). On Saturdays there are many farmer's markets around the city and one right next to us in a local co-op.
We are located a 30 minute stroll or 20 minute walk from the city centre in a quiet square. There are several buses that will take you to town in 10 minutes or less. A taxi home at night will cost you around $10. For cyclists there is the option of using the 'Dublin Bikes Scheme' while here, the nearest stand with available bikes is located an 8 minute walk from us. We are also in a great position to access the airport ($20 in a taxi) and airport buses ($8). If you are driving we also have a free parking spot outside the house.
This is the perfect residential spot for anyone who wants to stay close enough to the city to enjoy it but not right in the craziness and noise of town.
We live on a terrace so for the sake of neighbours we would ask that loud noise be restricted to the day time (9am-10pm).
We are non-smokers and would ask that guests smoke in the garden or outside.
Guests are welcome to watch DVDs or read books from our collection.
When you arrive you will be given a set of keys for your own convenience.
We had a wonderful say in the apartment!! It was the perfect size for five people and has a lovely kitchen that we used multiple times! The location is like a 30 minute walk to the city center or a short taxi ride. Maeve was very nice and accommodating about our arrival and departure time as well as left us a nice breakfast. I would definitely recommend this place!
Maeve's place is really nice and cosy. It's not far from city center, in a nice area. Maeve has been very welcoming and helpful.
Maeve and Rob could not have been more welcoming. Their house is really lovely and the location is great.
We were four adults and very comfortable in Maeve's house. It has good natural lighting, nice-sized bedrooms (with good mattresses!), a roomy kitchen and living room. Bathroom is a bit small but perfectly adequate. Good internet connection. We liked the location-- in town but away from the city center. Quiet, peaceful neighborhood. We also liked the nearness to the National Botanic Garden, the cemetery, and of course the Gravedigger's Pub.
Maeve was a very accomodating hostess and worked with us when our travel plans were up in the air due to the Aer Lingus strike. I would recommend Maeve's house to anyone planning a stay in Dublin.
The reservation was canceled 40 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Dublin is a beautiful city and Maeve appartament is nice and near to the centre! Perfect for long or short period of vacation. We actually enjoyed our time in Ireland!!
Maeve is a reliable and communicative Host, she took care of our needs even if it was not present during the stay (she has delegated a reliable person who gave us lots of good tips!).
The apartment is nice, equipped with everything you need and is located outside the busy city center (a bit far to walk, better to use the bus or taxi).
I love traveling to new places to enjoy culture, art and music. Our home is a little place just outside the city and is a great spot to relax in after a busy day. We live right beside "The Gravediggers Pub" which is one of the most famous in Dublin - it even gets a mention in Ulysses - so there's always a nice place to go for a drink or to meet friends. We enjoy going to plays, cinema and live gigs in the city and are happy to recommend events to you during your stay!
