Dimora Antica Pianella was born inside an ancient palace of XII century, in a beautiful and typical historical center of Pianella, a nice little country near Pescara. For centuries, this palace beloged to several rich families and it is developed in different parts: a large dining room, 4 60 mq deluxe double rooms and characterized by an atmosphere of antiquity, typical of the whole structure; on the ground floor a large dining room with kitchen and living room and an outside area with pool, solarium area, Jacuzzi and sauna.
This villa is in an amazing landscape where we can found together the natural aspect of our mountains and a strong sensation of history and tradition, thanks to little alleys of the country that you can see from the windows of the rooms.
Pianella represents a strategic point of departure to have your vacations in Abruzzo because with few kilometers you can reach different touristic places, to the sea and to the mountain, like for example trabocchi’s coast with its clear sea and our National Parks, where spending days through nature and animals.
Although we got a little lost trying to find this place it was a great start as we got to walk through winding alleyways and passages of this lovely little town. Frederica was a lovely host, gave us lots of information but wasn't pushy and the place is just as described.
We stayed only for one night as we were touring the east coast but my partner said this was his favourite place we stayed. Great view across the mountain. Only downside was not having access to the pool due to it being cleaned during our stay and we arrived in a heat wave.
Frederica able to communicate well in English which helps to get local information and finding her when lost!
Also the town itself is a little gem - the cafe/bar in the Piazza has a friendly host who is also an artist and a social club that hosts a signed letter by Garibaldi! They have a frequent visitor who speaks a little english having worked in America who has great stories. There isn't much tourism here and everyone knows you are staying at 'the place with a swimming pool' but they are friendly and accomodating of people with poor italian such as myself. The use of a kitchen means you can experiment with italian cooking and the flat itself is spacious enough to host a family with a lovely balcony area you can also dine on.
Couldn't recommend the flat more highly if I tried!!
