The Space

This newly interior designed two room apartment in the heart of trendy Prenzlauer Berg can accommodate up to six people, so it's great for a family, large group or for those people who like having space!

The flat is in a typical Berlin building with wooden floors. It's on the second floor and right next to Berlin's beloved Kastanienallee. The mix of design classics like Egon Eiermann, DDR-Design classics, Interlübke and 70ties design lamps mingles well with the selfbuilt kitchen and the furniture designed especially for us by a group of industrial designers.

The first bedroom is furnished with double bed, two Corbusier-couches and a wardrobe. Since we are lamp-fanatics, you can find here two lamps from the now demolished "Palast der Republik", the headquarter of GDR Parliament.

The second room is furnished with a double bed and two single Interlübke-beds, either to use as a couch or for two more guests to sleep in.

The separate huge kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, plates, glasses and everything else you might need for a dinner. An Espresso-machine from DeLonghi helps you to get started in the morning.
Since the kitchen is at least 28 square meters it serves as a living room as well - here you can hang out in front of the Flatscreen TV or read on the comfy chair.

The bathroom has a bathtub.

Breakfast is not included, but we strongly recommend to just go downstairs to Cafe Entweder-Oder - their breakfast is legendary!

Oderbergerstraße is one of the most beautiful streets in town, very broad, perfect for sitting outside in the summer. Here you find lots of small Cafes and Bars as well as second hand stores and Berlin Designers. The Mauerpark is just at the end of the street, and if you are there for a weekend you should take a stroll over the flea market on sunday!

The UndergroundStation "Eberswalder straße" is five minutes away - from there it is two stops to Alexanderplatz. What few tourists do but what is actually very practical is using the Tram. The numbers 1 and 12 leave around the corner, and with them you can go directly to Hackescher Markt and Friedrichstrasse in Mitte.
The Tram No. 10 takes you to Warschauer Straße, the Border between Friedrichshain & Kreuzberg. There are lots of things to discover in that Area, believe me!

  • Lulu & Mieke's flat is conveniently located, we really liked the neighborhood. The flat has a lot of space... We had a great time!

  • Absolutely great location and super apartment.
The location is very central and everything is easy to be reached by Underground or walking even.
Only downside was the kitchen equipment was a bit on the low side so we had to buy our own mugs. But we got them in a touristy shop so they were gifts afterwards.

Again I can only recommend this place for anyone. Great apartment and great location.

  • We found the apartment excellent for our family of 2 adults + children 5 months and 4 years. The neighbourhood is very convenient with lots of restaurants and cafes (cafe krone on Oderberger str. was great) and several types of public transport nearby to get you to the sights. We often walked the 10-15 minutes to nearest subway, but there's also a tram stop right around the corner. There's also two supermarkets in less than 5 minutes walk, a Lidl and a Kaiser's that's open 7-24 Mon-Sat.

The apartment was clean and well equipped, although could see a bit of wear overall. The big tub was a nice plus. Soundproofing in the building had some room for improvement, but that's normal in many places and didn't bother us.

Lulu and Mieke kindly allowed us a late check-out on request, and provided a baby bed. We'll be glad to stay again, if we're back in town.

  • I highly recommend staying at this apartment. It is on the ground floor, 5-10 minutes walk from public transport and just off Kastanienallee which has lots of nice bars and restaurants.

It is composed of two bedrooms (each is spacious with a double bed and plenty of storage space) and a living room with a large sofa and two single beds (which can double up as seats if you have a big group of people). The bathroom is large with a mirror, wash basin and bath tub with sit-down shower. The kitchen has a seating area for 6-7 people, a table, and all the usual kitchen stuff you need.

We were shown in by Jeff (a friend of the hosts) who met us and explained all the details. Lulu was very helpful prior to our arrival, especially as we had to make a late alteration to our booking (one extra person staying). The apartment is excellent value for money.

  • the apartment is amazingly big, housing 3 very comfortable rooms. we staying were only 2 people, but this apartment would be great for 4 - 5. the location was great between Mitte and Prenzlauerburg near many great places to shop for clothing and goods. the cafès near are wonderful as well. Cafè Krone and Suicide Sue being two favorites. very comfortable, we were glad we could stay here.

  • Enjoyable Stay, don't let the exterior of the building jade your first impression. Berlin has a graffiti problem, loved large roomy apartment and the neighborhood, some great places to eat( try Babel) and a grocery store a half a block away.
Short walk to U bahn line and the Berlin Wall memorial is also close enough to walk.

  • The apartment is extremely comfortable, pleasant and well-positioned. I would recommend it without a doubt.

Hello Community! Me (dark hair) and my friend Mieke (blond hair) have been friends for ages. We both love traveling - we hitch-hiked the pan american highway from Canada to Brasil when we were 20 (our mothers hated it!) - and we want to offer our guests a "home away from home" how we would like it. Both of us think that not only the sight-seeing highlights like Brandenburg gate are interesting, but also the normal districts, the houses and streets are of major importance for getting an insight view of the city. This is the advantage of a vacation rental. We hope that all our guests are happy with their stay and are always happy to help - except too late at night of course : ) See you in Berlin, Lulu & Mieke
