Pedestrian and bike friendly neighborhood makes it easy to visit nearby sights and leave the car behind. This modest brick home has everything you need to feel right at home and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Central heat/air. Kitchen stocked with basic ingredients. Rosemary available in garden year-round; basil, tomatoes, other veggies depending on season. Coffeemaker, d/w, microwave, toaster. Piano, games, and books for down (website hidden) with DVD/VCR and Wii in the den. No landline phone. Croquet for back yard fun. Queen bed in master BR, twin daybed with trundle in aqua room that converts to a king if desired, 3rd BR is my office space closed to renters, queen sofa bed in den, very comfortable, and a good amount of privacy away from the other bedrooms. One bathroom w/ shower attached to master bedroom, second bathroom with tub/shower off hallway.
A 5-minute drive gets you to the beach on Sullivan's Island and 15 minutes to downtown Charleston. A huge live oak keeps the front of the house in shade and the back yard is sunny and fenced. Linens, towels,beach towels and chairs provided. Bike rental shop close by. The house is walking distance (3/4 mile) to the old Pitt Street bridge where fisherman, birdwatchers, and walkers enjoy the marsh and views of Fort Sumter, harbor, intracoastal waterway, and Charleston. Alhambra Hall is close by with comparable views, a playground, and public restroom. Visit the Pitt St. Pharmacy for an old-fashioned soda fountain where you can sit on revolving stools and order a grilled cheese and a malted. Shem Creek is home to shrimp and fishing boats, restaurants on the water where you can watch the pelicans and dolphins, and kayak and SUP rentals. Restaurants, shopping, services all close at hand.

Eve was great host for our stay in the Charleston area. We loved her house! Everything was clean and tidy, and just as described. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. The back yard was big and well-maintained. We were close to everything; we had a five minute drive to the beach and 15 minutes to the city. It was a great way to spend the 4th of July holiday!
Eve made us feel very welcome. There was a binder with all of the information we needed to know. She was very friendly, and checked in regularly to make sure everything was okay. The neighborhood is a quiet and safe residential neighborhood and friendly. There was minimal traffic. The listing accurately described the house.
Eve's house was perfect for our family vacation. We wanted to spend Christmas in a house where we could feel at home and not a cold hotel room, and that's exactly how we felt: at home! Lovely garden, quiet residential neighborhood, a 10mn walk from groceries store, and a perfect home-base to explore, as nothing is more than a 10 mn drive away: downtown Charleston, Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, Boone Hall plantation... Eve was quick to answer and helpful during our exchanges, and I definitely recommend renting her house!
Our "digs" at Eve's were perfect! Everything was very tidy and organized. Darling neighborhood...we were able to take great walks in the neighborhood to the river with lots of lovely homes to look at. As you turn onto Eve's street, in the middle of the road is a HUGE live oak tree...that was a "tourist rush" just to see that!!! I would definitely recommend this location.

I love nature and appreciate the bird and marine life so abundant here. I go out early morning to look for turtle tracks on the beach as part of the turtle team. I have a small garden, enjoy travelling, reading, and playing games!
