Very nice place. Very sweet hosts and recommend this place to anyone. :)
Another great adventure at the Rustic Avocado Ranch!
Again for those passing through town on the Way to Santa Barbara this is the ONE PLACE YOU HAVE TO check out.
If you are looking for old turn of the century with modern necessities it is the place to stay.
If you want to write or paint it is a great location, if you want to have a party the outside is made for 5 - 10 - 20 people.
Great Farm and Rustic living that we all should take a break and let sink in.
If you are the busy 10+ hours a day work schedule, it has Wifi but best place to come to unplug and unwind for a weekend or a day.
Thank you again Lee the greatest host and the Perfect AirBnB host which they had in mind when creating this great site.
I was so sad to leave Avocado Ranch! I will be dreaming of drinking cinnamon coffee in the backyard, collecting breakfast from under her chickens, drinking wine by the fire pit and chatting with Lee in the kitchen. I can't recommend this magical place more! I almost don't want to tell anyone about it so there's always space for me :-) But Lee is so lovely that I want her to have many visitors. Avocado Ranch is truly a wonderful place to stay!
This is a warm and soulful resting place filled with the spirit of its hostess Lee, one of the rare women who mean it when they say "make yourself at home." This home isn't for everyone, but if you like the pictures you'll adore it in person. Great beds!!
Thanks, Lee,for a lovely stay! Loved being in your yard with the fire, among the avocado trees. Peaceful and nurturing. Enjoyed our conversations and meeting your son and other guests. Hope to return someday. All the best, Mary Beth & Pete
Lee is a natural! She is warm and welcoming, and what a great breakfast! Her coffee is delicious and fruit salad and fresh eggs....delightful. We were lucky enough to meet almost her entire really nice family (hi, Anthony!) and then she helped us host a barbeque for our family whom we were visiting. Just a great time! Thanks Lee!
Very relaxing stay, quiet and restful. Thank you Lee for opening your home to us - we enjoyed meeting you. We were in town for a family event and enjoyed the solitude offered. Convenient to Carpinteria & Santa Barbara. The bed was very comfortable.
Lee and Anthony are fantastic, the house is fantastic, the yard (fire pit, chickens, avocados) is fantastic--everything about staying here was absolutely amazing! Really, this was better than I could have ever expected. Stay here and you won't regret it.
This was an incredibly special stay. We arrived to wine and homemade soup on the stove. The house is old and funky and beautiful in all the best ways. And then in the morning, Lee made us a delicious breakfast and coffee to enjoy in the backyard - which has so many crafted nooks and crannies: a long table with chandeliers hanging from the tree branches, chairs set up around fire pits, the garden with trees planted in honor of her grandchildren, the chickens. As others have mentioned, Lee herself makes the whole visit a delight. I felt like we were leaving a friend as we drove off in the morning (backseat full of found avocados fallen from the trees.) Thank you Lee!
Lee's place is one of a kind!
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Rustic Avocado Ranch for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The night of our arrival Lee was hosting a hoe down fundraiser behind the house for a nearby Westmont student which we were welcome to, and did, join; it sort of felt like a welcoming party for us to be honest. There was a personalized chalk board on the front door welcoming us into the house and our names were on the bedroom door letting us know where to stay along with who was in each of the other rooms.
The home was built in 1870, if I remember correctly, with high ceilings and a very comfortable bed. The entire home had a very cozy feeling. Each morning when we awoke there was breakfast waiting for us. The mornings Lee was there she cooked for us and the mornings she wasn't we were free to use the kitchen as we pleased and make breakfast for ourselves with fresh eggs gathered that morning from her chicken coop in the backyard. I've never had eggs more fresh. A self professed coffee snob, Lee also serves some delicious pour-over coffee each morning. Her family that was around, but not often seen, was also very friendly and helped keep fresh towels in the bathroom and clean dishes in the kitchen.
The ranch is just 2 minutes from US101 and only 10 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara. This more than worth the drive if you're looking for places in Santa Barbara itself. When enjoyed it so much that we spent one full day just lounging around on the ranch.
There are not enough positive things that I can say about the experience and my girlfriend and I are already thinking of when we'd like to return.
