Grocery store, restaurants, and food trucks close by and Whole Foods and Trader Joes not much farther. Parking for 2 cars as well as plenty of off street (free) parking, garage for storage & large fenced backyard. Craftsman style house, please read the space details listed elsewhere on website. Host/concierge lives 10 blocks away.
Wallingford Craftsman built in 1906- 6 bedrooms and 8 (real) beds total - Main floor has 2 bedrooms (1 room with a King bed and one room with a 2 twin beds) and bathroom with bathtub/shower. Main floor is hard wood flooring with some area rugs. Top floor has one bedroom (queen bed) with view of Lake Union and down town. The top floor also has a separate "sleeping loft" which is counted as a bedroom, a very large room at the top of the stairs with no door that has a Queen bed and twin bed with extra area for air mattresses, sleeping on the floor, etc. and queen air mattresses are available. The space is large and has privacy. Top floor is wall to wall carpet. Downstairs there is one bedroom with a king size bed as well as another room (the rec room) that has a twin bed and a sofa that makes into a bed. The second bathroom is located off of this room, which has a sink, shower, and toilet (no tub). The one car garage is also on this level, and is available for storage. Parking spaces for two cars, with plenty of off street parking. There are no pictures of the downstairs area yet up on the site. Approx 2600 square foot house, and it is the whole house. Please email for questions. House is used as a vacation rental only. No one else is living on property at time of rental or moving out when guests come. Host and concierge lives 10 blocks away and requests you call or text immediately if you have an needs, concerns or questions.
Please note: Absolutely no smoking on the property - inside/outside/on the porches, etc. Kitchen eat-in area with views of Lake Union/down town, separate dining area also. TV has basic cable with HBO but is also set up with antenna - 40 local channels as well as stream off internet (through a roku or apple type box) with HDMI cable and internet and wifi is available. Kitchen also comes fully stocked with coffee maker and coffee grinder, toasters, gas range, full size refrigerator with ice maker/water dispenser. On demand hot water heater, so the whole house will never run out of water. Pillow top mattresses or memory foam toppers for good sleeping. Well stocked kitchen for good eating. Come make yourself at home, enjoy the views and explore Seattle. Located in a quiet neighborhood of single family houses, but just 2 blocks from 45th - the walking area of Wallingford with restaurants, cafes, shopping, groceries, etc. Wallingford art walk 2nd Weds of the month and all sorts of other activities.
Close by is the University of Washington and the U District Farmers Market - Seattle's oldest and largest, this Saturday market is nationally recognized as one of the best farmers markets in the U.S. and runs year round. The U-District also has many choices for budget friendly restaurants.
Burke Gilman bike/walking trail 3 blocks away and about 1 mile to Gas Works Park. Green Lake and the incredible Woodland Park Zoo is less than 2 miles away. Express buses to downtown and everywhere - just 2 blocks away - The buses are Metro transit: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)x, and sound transit (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) and the bus map is on metro transit web site. Two dedicated parking spaces. Please no smoking anywhere on the property. Rate is based on occupancy of 4, extra persons are $40 a night. Minimum stay is 4 nights. 3 night or less stays are available, however, will incur a $85 to $125 cleaning fee. (just ask)
House is kid and family friendly. There are extra chairs (6 total) available as well as baby equipment such as a pack and play (play yard/ temporary crib), bumbo chair, extra blankets to put on the floor, baby toys, a stroller, etc. Pictures shows one room with a loft bed, but, that bed has been taken down and is no longer in that room. Currently there is one twin bed in that room, with another twin available if needed. Backyard is large and fully fenced with grassy area and patio table and 5 chairs. The fireplace in the living room no longer operational.
Access to whole house and back yard. Backyard is fully fenced, fully landscaped with grassy area, and sitting area and patio furniture for outside dining. Gas BBQ may be available, please ask. There is also an attached garage that is available for guest use for storage, etc. We let guests check in early or check out late if house is available isn't scheduled to be cleaned. However, garage is always available to drop off bags early or to leave after checking out.
Interaction with guests
Normally maybe just meet them or leave the key for them as needed, and based on guest wishes. Host lives 10 blocks away and is always available via cell or text, and is more than happy to act as concierge. However, minimal interaction with guests based on initial check in and follow up (usually the next day.) We would much rather have you ask for items or come over and adjust or show you how to operate something, than read about it later in your review.
Close to the UW and the Ave with lots of great ethnic restaurants at college student budget pricing. Other great restaurants and Wallingford neighborhood of shops, etc, also just blocks away. There is a movie theaters near the QFC (about 6 blocks) and more theaters near the Trader Joes (6 blocks).
Yes, express bus to downtown, just 2 blocks away, and bus to Seattle Center, Space Needle, Experince Music Project, etc, also just 2 blocks away. The UW campus is about 8 blocks away and the Washington State Convention Center is about 4 miles away, about 6 minutes by car.
Other things to note
See below in house rules - No smoking on the property whatsoever, there will be a minimum charge of $50 for guests found smoking outside. Inside charge based on cleaning costs, minimum $300. Please sort garbage, compost and recycle, and please respect the neighbors and neighborhood. Walking distance grocery stores - Trader Joes at 46th and 8th Ave NE (about 6 blocks) and QFC grocery store about 8 blocks (45th and to the West at Wallingford). Very large organic and natural foods in upstairs area of market. At 65th and 12th NE is Whole Foods and at 70th and 5th ave NE is PCC- Puget Consumers Co-op (also like Whole Foods), Safeway at 70th and Roosevelt (and these are about 1 mile away. ) Don't go to Safeway in U district on 12th and 43rd - bad element there.
No smoking on the property whatsoever. Please don't smoke on the neighbor's property either. Minimum $50 charge for smoking outside, minimum $300 charge for smoking inside. Pet free home. While I have the kitchen cleaned between guests, a kitchen full of dirty dishes/spills/etc will incur an extra cleaning fee based on what I pay my cleaners. I have only had to charge an extra fee once. We have a very robust recycling program in Seattle, the instructions are in the house, and separating of recyclables, trash and food waste/compost. Please understand that kitchen, while well stocked, is not set up for catering weddings. Dishes/pots and pans are appropriate for a group of 6 to 10. For those in town hosting weddings, extra charges may apply based on extra costs incurred due to cleaning and garbage disposal fees. Please take care when you park to make sure you do not block the sidewalk (usually if at least 1/2 of it is accessible, this is enough). One guest blocked the sidewalk and got a parking ticket. Sorting garbage, food waste/compost and recycling is mandatory and required by city law - or a ticket could be issued for recyclable or yard waste (including food waste and pizza boxes) are found in the garbage. There is a poster explaining this in the house. Please be respectful of the neighbors and realize this listing is in a neighborhood with families with small children. No amplified music outside after 10 pm.
