Located in a lovely area of Niagara Falls, this 3 bedroom, 2 bath house is located only 3.3 miles from Niagara Falls State Park.
The master bedroom with attached bath is located on the first floor and has a queen bed. The other two bedrooms are located on the second floor and both have double beds. One of the rooms has a small sitting room attached that has a daybed for an extra guest. The other full bathroom is on the second floor.
On the first floor in addition to the master bedroom, is the kitchen, living room and dining room, and back hallway that leads to a screened in porch and the back yard.
The house is in the Deveaux area of Niagara Falls, a beautiful residential neighborhood, situated near Niagara University. The house is a 10-minute walk to the Whirlpool and Devil’s Hole State Parks and a 10 min. drive or 20 min. bike ride along the Gorge to the Niagara Falls State Park. Lewiston is also a short drive up the parkway and has many cute shops and nice restaurants.
The house is most easily accessed by car but the NFTA buses do run along Lewiston Road which is on the corner and goes to either Lewiston or to Niagara Falls.
The house has wi-fi so you can stay in touch but does not have a TV allowing you more time to enjoy the area : ) Pets will be considered. There is a driveway for you to use to park your vehicle.
Guests will have the entire house to make themselves at home.
Interaction with Guests
Since this is a whole house rental, we usually do not see the guests very much if at all though we are only 5 minutes away if they need anything.
The is a fantastic neighborhood in Niagara Falls with beautiful houses. It's a great location for walking to the Devil's Hole and the Whirlpool State Parks and doing some hiking.
All guests will be required to sign a short term rental agreement prior to check-in.
Lock doors when you leave the house (front and back)
Parking – Please park in the driveway. If you leave a car on the street overnight, it may be subject to a ticket if it is on the wrong side. Garrett Ave. has alternate overnight street parking which means you must park on the odd or even side of the street depending upon the next day’s date. For example, if the next day is the 16th, you will need to park on the even side of the street (across from the house). If the next day is the 17th, you will need to park on the odd side of the street (in front of the house). Take your cue from the cars or just avoid the confusion entirely by parking in the driveway.
Please do NOT leave wet towels or clothes on the wood floors or furniture. You can put them in the bathtub when you leave or on the bathroom floor.
Cleaning Supplies: Broom, mop and vacuum cleaner are in the closet in the entry if you need them. Other cleaning supplies can be found under the kitchen sink and bathroom sink upstairs. Extra paper products (toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags) are in the tall kitchen cabinet.
•No later than 11 am
•Leave the house neat. We do not charge a cleaning fee like most vacation rentals giving you the option to save some money. We do not expect you to clean the bathrooms, change the beds, dust, sweep, vacuum or mop but we do expect you to:
oClean up the kitchen from your cooking and meal preparation
oWipe counters and tables
oClean and put away the dishes you used
oTake your trash out to the bins by the house
Should we have to do any of the above bulleted items – a $50 cleaning fee will be taken out of your security deposit. The choice is yours : )
•Lock the door and leave the keys in the mailbox
If you have brought a dog with you, please do not leave the dog locked up in the house while you are gone. The dog can stay in the screened-in back porch, which you can leave open or please crate your dog if it is too cold outside. Please do NOT let your pets on the furniture or beds.
Trash and Recycling: Blue bin on wheels is for garbage only. The HUGE green bin on wheels is for recycling. You can recycle most stuff (list on top of green bin) but please rinse out cans, bottles, etc. as pick up is only every other week. Please be sure to recycle as much as possible : )
•Please do NOT leave the air conditioner running when you are not in the house/room.
•If you are running the air conditioning, please close the windows – no need to cool the great outdoors.
Carroll and Andre's place was exceptionally clean and organized and very comfortable. It's located in a very charming neighborhood with wide streets and easily walkable. The home is decorated with many antiques and if you love older homes with a lot of character (like me) you will love The Whirlpool Cottage. I am thankful to hosts on Airbnb who open up their homes and properties to travelers, giving us options and unique experiences on our journeys. I didn't meet Andre, but Carroll was very responsive and provided everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay
Not the most modern of places, but overall there was plenty of space, and it was a great value. Would stay again!
Charming, cozy home with lots of character. Safe neighborhood. Right down the road from the falls, which is why we came. Will visit again!
The house was a perfect place to be with our children with enough rooms for all of us and two badrooms was perfect.
Even Wifi works super and when there was a problem Carroll was there in 5 minutes that's Super!!
Thank you for staying in your house wich was perfect for us on a perfect location! greetings from all of us, Rudy Matthijs Casper and Annelies
Beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood. We were 3 families and had plenty of space. The kitchen was well equipped as well.
Since we were going to the falls park only, this was the most convenient. Thanks Carroll and Andre for accommodating us!
Great place to stay, the house is cozy and perfect for a vacation spot.
The neighborhood is also nice and quiet.
Carroll is a great host, she even came and check on us, to make sure we got there ok.
We would definitely stay there again in the near future.
It's only 10 minutes walking to the Whirlpool and 5 minutes driving to the falls: Great location. Great house as well. We loved to stay there with a family of 5, enjoyed the kitchen. Carroll & Andre really cared that everything was prepared.

We are avid travelers and running this guesthouse allows us some freedom in the off season to do just that. Carroll spent most of her career in Human Resources but gave it all up (darn) a few years ago to open this guesthouse & hostel - leaving the wonderful California weather behind but gaining a wonderful husband. Andre is from Germany and we found each other here!
