About This Listing
The space is available for one to four guests in the same party. Accommodations are in a separate wing of the house. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin beds. There is a private bath as well as a sitting room and screen porch for the exclusive use of the guest. The house is within walking distance to a private ocean beach and within a mile of the Shinning Sea Bike Path (bike rentals are available nearby). Numerous restaurants serving traditional Cape fare are within a two mile radius, with many more in nearby Falmouth and Woods Hole.
The only house rule is that the guests enjoy their stay.
We had a terrific first experience with AirBNB – Charlie was a fantastic host! He gave us great tips of things to do around the Cape and helped us plan a memorable 3 days. It’s a great space in a very safe and quiet neighborhood. The house is split into 2 parts - we were given the older section of the house including the bedroom(s), a private bathroom, a living room area, and a patio. We were disappointed we didn’t get a chance to test the fireplace, but maybe in the future. We were free to come and go as we pleased and Charlie was very flexible with the arrival and departure times. The house is in a great location too! We were really close to the Shining Sea Bike Path (recommend!), a 10 minute walk from a beach with a section for the public to access, and close enough to easily explore Falmouth, Mashpee, and Woods Hole. Breakfast was consistently delicious (make sure to ask about the blueberry pancakes!) and Charlie was a great conversationalist. Would definitely recommend!
Our stay with Charles was a wonderfully restful experience. It couldn't have been nicer. Our host couldn't have been nicer. He was thoughtful and lovely to our daughter...bringing her a freshly cut rose for her room. The suite was comfortable and spacious. Fresh coffee and delicious blueberry pancakes greeted us in the morning. Surrounded by beautiful art, interesting conversation and lovely accommodations created an experience that we would love to repeat over and over agin.
We had a wonderful time staying with Charles! The house is absolutely beautiful and has a lot of charm, and Charles was a great and informative host. He was very helpful in giving us advice about where to go and what to see during our time in Falmouth, and even made us breakfast in the morning! Definitely stay with Charles if you can while you are in the area!
We were running late and Charlie wanted to make sure we had the lay of the land so our arrival would go smoothly. When we finally did get to meet we enjoyed the stories of his experiences on the cape from childhood to present. His home is a lovely example of the blending of the past and the present and is very comfortable. We were lucky to be there while the roses were in bloom. He was very helpful with directions and suggestions for sightseeing. Visiting with Charlie turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.
Our stay with Charles was delightful and very interesting! From providing us with local knowledge on the area, (including a short historical film), to our delicious blueberry pancakes for breakfast, Charles couldn't have made us feel more welcome!!! Beautiful quiet area, surrounded by trees and bird life and close to the beach...it was hard to leave!! Thanks again Charles.
Awesome experience! My adult daughter and I had a wonderful time on the cape last week. Our treasured time together was compounded by the location, home, and hospitality of Charlie! It was much more than we expected. His home is located close to a biking trail and is in walking distance to the beach. The neighborhood is delightful and in a natural wooded surrounding. Our accommodations were excellent in a comfortable old cape home setting with lots of private space and close to town for restaurants, dining, and adventure.
Charlie, our host, is extremely intelligent and obliging. He has beautiful gardens and home decor. We loved his home cooked delicious breakfasts, conversations, and sight seeing suggestions. Also, his massive library selection is impressive. Hope to come back soon. Thank you Charlie
I stayed at The Cape Cod Cottage for one night when I was in town for a family wedding. My cousin and her two grown sons stayed with me. Charlie was a wonderful host. We stayed in the wing of his home that was the original house, which had two bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom and a screened in porch. Charlie lives in a section of the house that is a recent addition. He has lots of interesting and beautiful artwork throughout and we had a pleasant time at breakfast with him as he told us about the area, his home and the artwork. We enjoyed the conversation, and the homemade pancakes, very much. It was such a treat to stay in a comfortable home rather than a hotel! He also told us how to walk to a nearby beach. Overall, a very gracious and flexible host!
