The space

Lovely place to stay in a magical location of Costa Rica.
This is a piece of paradise on earth since it is something totally different, staring that there are no roads, so the only media of transportation is by boat, which will make your stay an unique adventure.

Cabinas Beyetty is owned by a local family, who has lived in Tortuguero all their life. We have six rooms available for our visitors. Every room has a private bathroom with hot water shower and fans as well as one double bed and one or two single beds. Nice typical breakfast and meals are served upon request.
(Extra, no meals included in the rates)

We have various native local guides who can take you to wonderful tours in the area such as night-time turtle watching tour, guided hike through the national park trails or a canoe/ boat/ kayak tour to the canals to view the flora and fauna that this amazing place has to offer.

You can find several local restaurants, super market, and shops close by. Unfortunately we don't have any banks so make sure to bring enough cash for your stay, dollars and colones will be equally accepted. Just a couple of places accept credit cards.

If you're looking for an affordable place to stay in Tortuguero, this is a great spot. My room was by no means luxurious, but it was comfortable and secure. Since the whole village is rather small, you can walk anywhere from Cabinas, and it's very close to the supermarket, a frutería, and several restaurants. The hosts were very nice people, and I went on a fun canoe tour with the husband my second day there. His wife made me breakfast afterward, which was tasty and filling. I had to take the 5am boat back to La Pavona, but they were accommodating and allowed me to simply leave my key in the door to checkout. Overall, I had a great stay and would recommend it to others who are going to stay in Tortuguero.

Beaty and her husband Alphonso are truly wonderful hosts. We enjoyed spending time with them and learning about the local culture. Beaty made a wonderful breakfast for us every morning and Alphonso was our guide for five amazing nature tours. The lodging is simple just like the village of Tortuguero.

These hosts are awesome. Very friendly and accommodating. They both spoke english which was very helpful for us. The location is perfect as you are in the village without being right in the middle of the action so you can get some rest if you wish. Breakfast was very delicious and made our stay super affordable. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting the "local" experience in Tortuguero.

This location couldn't be more convenient if you are having a short stay at Tortuguero. It's on the main street, which has a very lively vibe. The room is basic but very clean. I didn't see any insect during my stay. The owner wasn't there during my stay but his nephew was there to take care of everything. He is a wonderful and considerate young man who helped me book tours, made breakfast (which is delicious and a great value) and he is always around to help. The personal touch added great value to the experience. I highly recommend this pace!

Couldn't have asked for a kinder more thorough hospitality than what I received here. Betty was not here but her daughter Betty was and she went so far as to share a meal with me. Her father Alonso is an amazing wealth of knowledge and on his initiative went with me to find hatching baby turtles. There is nothing like this. I was thrilled picking up the baby, cleaning sand off, and watching it head for the ocean. The next day Alonso took me on a hike and pointed out many fascinating things and then this time found two nests of baby turtles. Alonso also took me on a canoe ride into the park. His family history which is rooted at the birth of Tortuguero, is rich, and he's grown up there, knows everything, helped me understand flowers, the man is an unannointed biologist, I saw caymens, and many other animals. Oh, also, the room was perfectly adequate and comfortable. Very cool sweet people. Stay here. Thank you very much Alonso and Betty for taking care of me!

Beyetty and Tomas were very friendly and helpful, but as the cabinas are in a highly trafficked area and only a few feet from their private residence, it was very noisy. As the location is also very close to the school in town, it was chaotic the day we arrived, as there was a celebration going on for the start of a holiday weekend. As the reviews on Airbnb gave the impression of seclusion, we were not prepared for any of this. The rooms were rustic & sparse, as expected. We were first given a room on the ground level, but requested to move up to the second level, hoping this might alleviate the noise & chaos. The room upstairs was unbearably hot and as there were no screens on the windows, this left the room completely accessible by the deck with windows open. It was not possible for us to be comfortable or find peace under these conditions, so we found other accommodations.

We loved staying with Beyette and Alonso in this magical setting. The reviews we read were accurate; the rooms were simple but clean. We went on a turtle tour and canoe ride with then which were both lovely. It rained a lot on our stay so plan for dealing with your wet clothes. We would definitely stay here again!
