A real prairie farm, our comfortable older home is a wonderful retreat for those who want a quiet country experience or something more active. We cater to families as well as singles or couples. You can relax, swim in the pool or wander the property.
Prices can be confusing ... please read below. Located on an organic grain farm, 15 minutes north of Regina (just off Highway #11 north), we have three bedrooms available for rent. Each bedroom is separately priced based on 1 - 2 guests sharing. For example, the "green room' is $100/night two people sharing. The other rooms are slightly less per night. All share one bathroom. The "Green Room" has a queen sized bed and an adjoining sun room. The second bedroom is the "Brass Room" with a double brass bed. The third room is the "Twin Room" with two twin beds. A full breakfast is also provided. Guests can use living room as desired. The kitchen is also available given notice. A small swimming pool is available in summer. Large porches for lounging.
The property is near the Qu'Appelle Valley and has a pasture with flowing stream. It is ideal for a farm retreat or a quiet residence for those with business or pleasure in nearby Regina or Lumsden. We raise Canadian Horses and have accommodation for horses too overnight in separate pens. Photos are available.
We have highspeed wireless internet and satellite television available.
Guests have access to the main living areas of the house - kitchen, dining room and living room as well as the bathroom. The guests are also free to wander around the property, taking care around the horse pens and the swimming pool. There is a BBQ available for guests' use as well.
Interaction with Guests
Depending on the preference of the guest, we usually like to get to know our guests, sharing travels or other details as possible.
You are able to get into the north end of Regina and shopping centres in about 15 minutes. However, we are in a rural area - it is very quiet - only bird songs all day and coyote calls at night. Sunsets are incredible and in the winter, the northern lights put on displays frequently.
There is no public transit to our farm. You will require a car unless we arrange to meet you at a certain time/place.
There is a 7km stretch of 'gravel' once you leave the highway. When it rains or snows, driving can be a bit more difficult and extra care taken.
Other Things to Note
During farming season (April - October) you may wish to observe various operations such as seeding, swathing, harvesting or making hay for the horses. You are free to do this.
We do have two dogs on the property which are friendly. You may also bring your pet with prior arrangements.
We don't allow smoking in the house although there are two porches which can be used if required.
Within reason, guests are free to bring in alcohol for their own consumption.
Children must be accompanied at all times while on the farm property, especially around the pool and near the horse pens.
The listing description was exactly as stated and Elaine and Will are most gracious hosts. Best Saskatoon buttermilk pancakes ever. Once we got back home the next day we immediately missed Elaine's cooking. The beds and rooms were comfortable. The Only regret was not having the time to stay longer. Highly recommend taking the few extra minutes on the highway to head out to Keewatin Farm Bed and Breakfast.
Unfortunately Elaine was travelling when we visited, but husband Will greeted us. Will return in few days and both Elaine and Will will have returned from their travels. Grounds muddy due to heavy rains but that was fine and we managed fine. Is great house and accommodations wonderful. Will did a masterful job of entertaining and being the most proper host.
We had a wonderful stay! Our room was delightful, with a sitting room off of the bedroom that was lovely. The home-cooked breakfast - including the Saskatoon berry pancakes - was more than excellent. Elaine and Will were the perfect hosts - gracious, accommodating, interesting and kind. If we're ever back in the area, we'll stay there in a heartbeat. Dave and Margrett, Gibsons, BC.
Very nice place to stay! The house was very clean and cozy. There was alot of food at breakfast and it was delicious. Elaine and Will were great hosts. Definitely would stay there again!
This is a quite unique BnB. It is a lovely house/home built in 1916, the property is a bit of a drive out of Regina, but we thought it was worth the drive. The farm stay feel, with horses and clear air was refreshing after staying in cities or towns on the rest of our travels. Our two children enjoyed a swim when we arrived.Elaine and Will were lovely hosts and provided an outstanding breakfast to see us on our way.
My husband and I operate an organic grain farm near Regina, SK. We raise organic crops and Canadien Horses. We have a large farm house with outdoor pool, large spaces for walking and porches for sitting and listening to the country sounds.
