This is a quiet, private guest cottage in my fenced back yard. There is a full kitchen, one bedroom and a sofa bed. The garden is pleasant: right now the jasmine and citrus are blooming and the roses are beginning to bud.
This is a newly renovated cottage tucked away in the peaceful formal garden behind my house in old Santa Barbara. The cottage has its own small private patio. The location is great: we are at the bottom of the Riviera, near concerts at the Santa Barbara Bowl, a pretty fifteen minute walk to the historic courthouse and State Street, a five minute drive to the beaches or the Mission. The city bus stop is around the corner. One bedroom and the living room has a sofa that opens into a queen size bed. There is a newly renovated fully equipped kitchen. One of the pleasures of Santa Barbara is to explore our amazing farmer's markets. There are two garden patios in the garden. Amenities include cable, television, wifi, a washer and dryer, professional cleaning. I have two ridiculously friendly dogs who will visit you in the garden if you like, but please do not rent if you are allergic.
No smoking in the cottage, please.
We had a lovely time in Santa Barbara last weekend. Carol was very nice and responsive. Her cottage is in a beautiful garden setting. The location is about a mile from State St. but easy parking and ability to get around to other areas. The cottage is outfitted with everything you need and Carol is very accommodating. We would definitely book again if traveling that way.
Very nice place to live, appears bigger than in the pictures, garden is very nice to hang out.
What a wonderful introduction to our first Airbnb experience. Carol's garden cottage aka 'our R&R haven' was just what our family needed in Santa Barbara during our SoCal holiday.
Our first Airbnb booking began with us finding accurate discriptions of her cottage and neighbourhood. We liked the quick reply that helped us to decide upon the accommodation. Great directions by our host to get to her home, it was a good choice as the cottage setting is beautiful and private.
Close to downtown, lots of local info brochures to inform us, we didn't end up utilizing the detailed list of restaurants. Instead we found the grocery stores so were grateful for the well equipped kitchen to eat in both nights we stayed. Candle light supper, plenty of room for four adults and gazing out in the garden - it was a great oasis. On our way out the door, we pack a picnic lunch for the way back to LA - again perfect and appreciated.
A delightful discovery are the bookshelves with their plethora of good reads. All four of us found titles to enjoy while there. 'Things to do in Santa Barbara' based books were appreciated when we hiked to an outdoor natural hot springs a short drive inland.
In a few words...Quiet, easy, and a lovely courtyard.
Carol welcomed us to her lovely cottage the minute we walked up the stairs. She was helpful and attentive. The cottage was the perfect size for me, my husband and our baby. We loved eating breakfast in the kitchen and looking out at the beautiful garden. We also enjoyed browsing through Carol's huge book collection. The cottage was in a pretty and quiet neighborhood and was a perfect location to easily get to the Mission, the Botanic Gardens, State Street, and the beach. We would definitely stay here again.
Carol was a wonderful host! The cottage is beautiful and in a great location, very spacious and in a quiet neighborhood, and close enough to State Street and the beach that it was no issue getting around. I would absolutely book with Carol again on my next trip down to Santa Barbara.
Carol was a lovely hostess, very flexible as our arrival time plans changed. The space has a lovely outdoor patio spot.
We had a great time. Carol was a very gracious and helpful host. She made sure we were comfortable, gave us suggestions about where to go or eat, and yet allowed us privacy during the stay. The cottage was very comfortable and suited us perfectly. We would definitely stay again.
