HISTORY AND CULTURAL ATTRACTIONS
The Trieste neighborhood, which is characterized in the early twentieth century for its construction high quality and luxurious, at the end of 20 years becomes to all effects district "Savoia" because of the royal residence of the famous European dynasty (today Villa Ada).
Surrounded by magnificent villas -now public parks- precious and unique palaces - such as to really become architectural experiments (the adjacent district Coppedè, is a wonderful example), this is a neighborhood inherently representative of our twentieth century.
And it is also an important part of the history of Christian Rome: from the second century AD, the subsoil of this area is characterized by the proliferation of a vast and complex network of catacombs, among the most famous and important of Subterranean Rome. The Catacombs of Priscilla, for example, were called the "queen catacumbarum", for the amount of martyrs buried there.
Close to major public and private Universities of Rome, this area also offers wineries and bars to spend your evenings.
More generally, the nearby neighborhood of San Lorenzo, a meeting place for the whole university world, offers a large number of clubs, restaurants, pubs, as well as excellent secondhand clothing or original one.
In addition to being the second largest park in Rome, Villa Ada offers a music festival and concerts from around the world: it is among the busiest and the most expected event of the summer season.
In winter, however, is the historic nightclub Piper to offer a high level of international music programming.
Our apartment is only 5/10 minutes from all these attractions.
If you want to get away a bit, still enjoying the life of Roma Nord, we recommend, in summer, Ponte Tazio chiosco in Piazza Sempione, with live music near a cozy park and Brancaleone, in winter, a club of acclaim for electronic music, with a program of concerts to watch.
Elisa is an amazing Host, the apartment was nice, clean and cosy! Could fit a whole lot of people even tho I was there on my own.
Elisa was great and very helpful with information, even when we were late arriving. Apartment was in a perfect location for us, easy to get into central rome and wonderful pizza restaurant just round the corner. The accomodation itself was very comfortable - especially the bed which was the best I have ever slept on! We particularly liked to sit out on the balcony area. Would definately stay again.
Elisa's place has a wonderful, lively spirit and atmosphere, the courtyard to the apartment, and the entrance are quite lovely. It was great to be able to use the kitchen, as we were able to cook ourselves dinner, and have breakfast in the home. Elisa was also kind enough to accommodate our needs for a larger party of 6.
The location isn't central and it doesn't have wifi - but staying there made it feel like we were going back to a home every night. We just had a little bit of trouble getting warm water and proper water pressure with the shower, but Elisa was very understanding in trying to help us work it out, and hopefully it was just a trouble of that weekend :) Loved the experience!
