About This Listing
Hello there. You’ve selected the right listing if you’re looking for a comfortable and convenient location in Brooklyn. Let me tell you a little about where I live.
Newly renovated One-Bedroom Apartment in Gowanus/Carroll Gardens Brooklyn
The building, located on Union St., has been family owned for a few generations. There are five other units in the building and everyone is really open and friendly. The neighborhood is VERY quiet and secluded though a few new places have been popping up across the street from me.
The apartment is small but comfortable for one or two people. The bedroom fits only my queen size bed and a nightstand. It’s pretty tiny. But the rest of the place is very open and I’ve made a “man cave” out of the room outside the bathroom. This place was newly renovated when I moved in in January 2011 and I keep it clean. I’d ask that you do the same. The rate includes all utilities including wireless internet. There is no cable but I have instant Netflix through my Wii console and I’m not planning on suspending it unless you definitely won’t use it. The problem with the internet that the previous subletter explained was rectified years ago and I haven't had a problem since.
About you: Non-smokers only please and sorry, no pets allowed. Please get in touch with me if you have any questions. Be well and good luck on your search!
Interaction with Guests
I'm very responsive and open to dialogue between myself and all guests.
We sit between the best of the two neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Carroll Gardens is a seven minute walk (to the right) and Park Slope (to the left) is about five. There are tons of shops and restaurants in either direction.
Out the front door and to the right the Carroll St. stop on the F is seven minutes. Out the front door and to the left the Union St. Stop on the R is a block away.
Other Things to Note
If you have a car parking is usually always available on my street.
I'm a pretty easy going guy but there are a few things I like when it comes to living in my place. The main thing I'd say is to take a look around. I'm very cognizant about presentation and comfort. I take into account that you'll probably want a clean place to stay in and that every appliance functions the way it's supposed to.
I'd expect you to leave it as well kept as you found it.
it was the perfect match. the neighborhood, the rent, the calmness, the size, the interior... we really enjoyed our 4 weeks in the apartment. we had some internet WIFI problems, but that was not the fault of the host. thank you again for being so generous and friendly.
About the Host, Francisco
I'm a professional modern dancer with a major dance company. Frequently I'm on the road and need someone to pick up the rent when I'm not around. That's basically why I'm here on airbnb.
I've lived in NYC for twelve years. I've been in Brooklyn for half that time and couldn't feel more at home. Originally I'm from San Antonio, TX but I graduated from a small women's college in Missouri you've probably never heard of. Yes, I said women's college. It's an interesting story and if you want to know about it I'm happy to share. My apartment is my sanctuary. I've lived alone for a little over a year now and I can't imagine a better time in my life so far. I live in the greatest city in the world, the best neighborhood within that city and I have the job of my dreams.
In addition to dancing for a living I like to photograph and toy around in Photoshop as a hobby. Most of what I shoot these days is dancers in the wings because well...that's what I'm around for the most part. Not to mention the high level of drama and energy. I get to travel the world so street photography has become nearly as great a passion as dance.
