You’ll love Creekside Cottage because of the beautiful view, the coziness, the convenient location! Dogs welcome with an additional $25 per pet cleaning fee. With three bedrooms, it accommodates up to five guests. Thirty miles from Hocking Hills State Park.

The space
Creekside Cottage is a quiet, private gem nestled in the Appalachian foothills in a wooded country setting, only a 5 minute drive from Ohio University. Built in 1928, the cottage has three bedrooms and a central living area which combines a sitting area with a fully equipped kitchen. The bedrooms (one with a full bed, one with two twins, one with one twin bed) are equipped with quality mattresses and all linens are provided. Tastefully decorated, you'll find an extensive library of classic novels, historical biographies, photo illustrations, etc. Window AC and central heating will keep you comfortable no matter the season. There's also a large deck with porch swing and outdoor furniture, a fire pit, and a hot tub (very nice for relaxing at night and watching stars, which are GREAT here!)

Where you’ll be

Athens, Ohio, United States

The cottage is just two miles from the Ohio University campus by car, bike, or foot, and the same distance from Court Street, where you'll find many of Athens' bars and restaurants, especially alumni favorites. It's also just outside of the city part of Athens - neighbors are not close and trees and hills surround the cottage affording true privacy. To the north and east of Athens is Stroud's Run/Dow Lake, a great place to hike, birdwatch, or generally enjoy nature. There's also a killer rails-to-trails bike path running through town, several breweries, a cider house, a few wineries in Athens County, one of Ohio's best coffeehouses (some insist it is THE best!,) a great farmer's market, lots of healthy local food, live music, VERY nice people, special events year round... We love it here, and we hope you will, too. If there's anything specific you'd like to do or see, just ask!

I'm an Ohio University graduate who never left. I love the area, the people, and the enlightenment of a college town. I love hitting the farmer's market, and welcoming new and returning guests to my cottage! If you need any tips on what to do, see, or eat while visiting, just ask. I know all the good hiking spots, restaurants, and unique things Athens has to offer.

During your stay
Creekside is very private, tucked away in the woods on its own little piece of acreage and separated from the parking area by a wooden privacy fence. I will call you on the day you arrive to welcome you and make sure you have everything you need or answer any questions you may have, but unless you prefer it or it is necessary, you may not see me at all.
