Just a block off Thayer, next to a park, and a short walk to Brown or RISD. You'll have my sunny spare bedroom to yourself. Feel free to use the kitchen.
My place is a five minute walk to the heart of Thayer St, where you'll find a ton of places to eat, the Brown bookstore, bars and shops. Most Brown and RISD campus locations are less than a 15 minute walk away.
When you arrive, you can walk from the Kennedy Plaza (20min) if you come by bus, or from the train station (15min). There is a hill coming from direction though, so consider a cab for about $6-$8.
Great place, great host. Super close to Brown University. I would stay there again..
The space was great! We spent the time going from the convention center to the apartment and it was super awesome. The spiral staircase may prove challenging if you have vertigo but it was spacious and in a good area. We never met john but he left good info on picking up the key. Loved it!
John was very accommodating and responsive at short notice. He provides an extremely inviting and comfortable environment with a beautiful outlook in a lovely part of Providence. Would highly recommend.
Loved the big apartment/house. The location was great and was truly very accessible to Brown University/downtown. Walked everywhere. John was always readily available when I had last minute questions and made the stay very easy. For my short stay - this worked out very well.
John has a nice space in a good part of town. Although the room was decently clean the futon was not very comfortable (unless you like stiff beds). The bathroom was not clean and I felt a bit uncomfortable using it. I didn't have the chance to meet John which may have improved the experience, but overall I felt like he made a rushed attempt to create a good place to stay - and it was apparent.
John was super nice. Very nice about letting me use kitchen and fridge. Walking distance from brown and risd which is what I needed. Great place to stay!
John was a wonderful host! The room was clean and warm and even had a nice desk where I was able to work in the mornings. Highly recommended!
