Just a block off Thayer, next to a park, and a short walk to Brown or RISD. You'll have my sunny spare bedroom to yourself. Feel free to use the kitchen.
My place is a five minute walk to the heart of Thayer St, where you'll find a ton of places to eat, the Brown bookstore, bars and shops. Most Brown and RISD campus locations are less than a 15 minute walk away.
When you arrive, you can walk from the Kennedy Plaza (20min) if you come by bus, or from the train station (15min). There is a hill coming from direction though, so consider a cab for about $6-$8.
John has been very helpful on the day I moved in, and the house is wonderful. I enjoyed my stay.
This host lives in a old house that has been beautifully updated. The futon bed was very comfortable. The host was friendly, but mostly a laissez-faire kind of guy who gave us lots of privacy.
The neighborhood is full of beautiful, old, historic houses. The host is located walking distance to Brown U., RISD and the old part of Providence.
Positives: Very close to Brown University, a beautiful and safe neighbourhood with many restaurants nearby. Also nice to have free wifi.
Negatives: The bathroom and kitchen were very unclean. Guests should be aware that it is a shared bathroom with host.
This apartment was so close to everything you need on College Hill. The spiral staircase up to the bedroom is a bit tough to bring up large suitcases but otherwise it was excellent.
Hi John, thanks for letting us stay in your appartment! We had a wonderful day in Providence. We felt very comfortable in our room. Everything was fine!
John's place is absolutely lovely - a few blocks from Brown University, and about a 30 minute walk to the Convention Center. John is a very friendly welcoming person. I enjoyed my stay immensely!
Josh and his girlfriend (I think her name is Genevieve?) were incredibly accommodating. I arrived in from Boston at around 7am. Hoping to maybe stop my things off before my first meeting that day, I texted John to see if he was up. He was! Unfortunately, the timing didn't work out for me to get over to his place before the day kicked into gear. Nonetheless, John was more than willing to accommodate me at that early hour.
John's place is really nice. Very well located and spacious, with tons of natural light. While I didn't spend much time at home, when I did, it was super pleasant. John also allowed me to use his laundry machine, which was a great time saver for me. All in all, I had a great experience. I'm only sad I didn't get to spend more time chatting with John and hearing his thoughts on the surrounding area!
The reservation was canceled 11 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
John's place was very conveniently located near Brown campus. He provided a clean room with a futon bed and was prompt in responding to any emails I sent him. Easy and hassle free. Recommended.
We had an early arrival time, John made perfect arrangements for us to get in and get settled.
Room was great and sunny as advertised. Location is walking distance to Brown/RISD and Thayer street eateries.
We stayed two nights and everything worked out great.
