A beautiful and relaxing cottage in the middle of the nature.

The space

We are pleased to welcome you to our unique place. The cottage is located on a hillside in the middle of a virgin Mediterranean shrub forest and offers a beautiful view of the valley and the vineyards. It is on the border of the Cevennes National Park, nearby the middle ages town of Anduze.

The cottage was built in the 16st century and was used by local wine grape and silk farmers until recently. It was traditionally renovated in 2008 and is now the perfect place to stay if you want to spend a great holiday in the region.

We offer a full equipped apartment that combines comfort, calm, and relaxation in nature.
It has a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a single sleeper sofa and a curtain-door sitting room with a sofa that can unfold into a double bed. There is a independent kitchen, and also a bathroom with a shower and WC/toilet.

The cottage is 65 m² and is perfect for up to 5 people. It's located on the ground floor and has a private terrace. The garden/yard, and the swimming pool are shared with my mother and the guests from our other cottage (charming cottage in the cevennes) and the bed and breakfast room.
It is possible to rent the whole house (cottage "Voûtains" on the first floor + bed and breakfast on the second floor). The house can then host confortably up to 9 people.(see our listing "bed & breakfast in the Cevennes").
My mother lives in another part of the property and she is happy to help and give you tips about the region if you need it.

Be aware that we only rent the cottage on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday in June, July and August. NO EXCEPTIONS.
It is only accessable by car, which you can rent in Ales (by Avis) by the train station, or in Montpellier and Nimes by the train station or airport.

Guest access

Guests have access to a private parking shared with other guests from the other cottage and the bed and breakfast.
They also have access to a shared swimming pool and the garden around it.
There is also a tennis table and a petanque game set at there disposal.

Interaction with guests

My mother lives in another part of the property and she is happy to help and give you tips about the region if you need it.

Other things to note

There is Wi-Fi at the cottage but it is very slow because our modem is far from the nearest dsl hub. It means that you can check your email or surf online but you can't watch videos.

We had a wonderful stay - Nicolas's Mum was lovely and gave us some great advice on places to visit. The house is beautiful, in a wonderful area - so much to do! The pool was a huge hit with our boys! Thank you!

What a beautiful villa. And Martine, who is the hostess (and mother of Nicolas), is wonderful. We had a lovely time with our baby who was accommodated for (high chair and travel cot) and there were some toys on hand. We swam during the day and admired butterflies and deafening cicadas. The flora is gorgeous.

What a great week we have just had! This place is a hidden gem and our family of four, including two girls aged nearly 3, loved our week here. A beautiful apartment, playroom and best of all a fantastic swimming pool which was required in 30-35 degrees heat each day! Martine was very helpful as and when required, but let us get on with our holiday privately :) We will be back!

I stayed at Nicolas's cottage for a week, together with my husband and my two daughters. The place is great, especially the beautiful views! We got very detailed and helpful indications about how to reach the cottage and good tips on what to visit, while there.

Hi, I'm Nicolas, 33, and I rent my living room in Paris and my mother's cottages in the south of France. I like languages and cultures. I lived several years in Berlin and in Utrecht (The Netherlands) and now I am back in Paris. Last but not least, I like meeting new people from different backgrounds and different countries and show them some of the great things that Paris has to offer. If you have questions, don't hesitate, we can chat in French, English, German or Dutch.
Just come to visit us, whether in my cozy Parisian home or in my mother's cottage in the beautiful and sunny south of France!
