We are pleased to welcome you to our unique place. The cottage is located on a hillside in the middle of a virgin Mediterranean shrub forest and offers a beautiful view of the valley and the vineyards. It is on the border of the Cevennes National Park, nearby the middle ages town of Anduze.
The cottage was built in the 16st century and was used by local wine grape and silk farmers until recently. It was traditionally renovated in 2008 and is now the perfect place to stay if you want to spend a great holiday in the region.
We offer a full equipped cottage that combines comfort, calm, and relaxation in nature.
The cottage has a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a single sleeper sofa and a curtain-door sitting room with a sofa that can unfold into a double bed. There is a independent kitchen, and also a bathroom with a shower and WC/toilet.
The cottage is 65 m² and is perfect for up to 5 people. It's located on the ground floor and has a private terrace, a shared garden/yard, and a shared swimming pool.
It is possible to rent the whole house (cottage "Voûtains" on the first floor + bed and breakfast on the second floor). The house can then host confortably up to 9 people.(see our listing "bed & breakfast in the Cevennes").
We rent the cottage on a weekly basis, from Saturday to Saturday.
It is only accessable by car, which you can rent in Ales (by Avis) by the train station, or in Montpellier and Nimes by the train station or airport.
I can only agree with what everyone else has already written. What an amazing place. Exactly as beautiful as the pictures imply. It's everything you need. Remote, quiet, gorgeous. LIttle Anduze is just nearby for the village feel and for a bigger city Nimes is only 30 minutes away. Just perfect and made even more so by the lovely Martine being there herself. Enjoy.
We loved the location, the cottage and the host (Martine). The cottage was cozy, immaculate and well stocked for our stay. It had the charm of a historic building with the amenities of a four star hotel. It was in a central location to explore all the sights and was surrounded by charming little towns. Highly recommend this accomodation. You won't be disappointed.
This place is all the pictures show. A great and romantic old place with all the new comfort you can wish. Great view, great house, lovely hostess who does all to give your stay that extra bite.
Good, better, Martine! We had the most wonderful week one can imagine! Thanks to Martine, Bagard and La France! Flo, Jeanette, Louise et Charlotte
This cottage is beautiful and is situated in a unique French landscape. Its even better than in the pictures!
The house was clean and comfortable. We experienced a warm welcome.
The owners Martine and Nicolas were very kind and considerate and advised us on local activieties and places to visit.
It was a perfect holiday!
We had a wonderful stay. Perfectly peaceful and tranquil. Martine (Nicolas' mother) was a great host, a great artist and a great cook! (Delicious fresh apricot jam and cake). The swimming pool, with beautiful views over the rolling vineyards, was ideal for cooling off in the searing heat.
Our family of five spent a week at the cottage near Anduze and had a wonderful time. The space has been beautifully restored and this along with the property and views were just what we were hoping for. We ended up spending far more time at the house than we expected because it is really that nice. Our girls swam in the pool several times a day and we played pétanque with them out on the gravel terrace with pink wine in our hands while the sun was setting on the grapevines below. A little bit of heaven! Thank you Marine for your warm welcome and all of your help in making our stay special.
This place is just gorgeous in every way. Peaceful, restful, comfy, charming, clean, well-furnished and characterful. In an excellent holiday location, convenient to some of the most wonderful places in the south of France. I spent 10 days here with my teenage son (who was grateful for the WIFI to catch up on the cricket, rugby and (website hidden)). We walked, swam, cycled, kayaked, played badminton, explored, did 'culture', spoke French, ate, drank, slept and read. From the very moment we arrived, Martine was a most welcoming and generous hostess, as well as an interesting and artistic woman who has done a beautiful job on the renovation of this old property. Her English is very good and she is very patient with faltering attempts at French. Her son Nicolas (who doesn't live there) makes all the arrangements and he was always prompt and informative via the AirBnB site messaging, so it all went very smoothly. We had friends passing by who stayed in the BnB above for a couple of nights - they are already planning to return and book the cottage - as I plan to do myself next year. In a nutshell, this is a gem. The only potential drawback is the lottery of who you might share the place with, if there are people in the BnB at the same time, but then it will only be 4 other people - max. So go ahead and book the whole place .... just not when we want to go! Enjoy.
Perfect. Wonderful little guest cottage in a charming part of the Languedoc. Stunning renovation of the classic renaissance villa, with modern taste and rustic charm. Just outside the town of Anduze, and great access to some of the best spots in So.France. We are sommeliers from the US, so the positioning of this villa was ideal for the convenience of meeting with some of the top winemakers in the region: Clos Marie, Lancyre, Mas D'Oncle, La Roque, as well as the many cooperative vineyards. Highly recommend this villa on value, location, amenities and a comforting welcome from the hosts.
We do wish we had allowed more time to stay and enjoy the apartment and the surrounding country. Six nights was insufficient to soak up the peaceful surrounds, explore the wider area and enjoy the walks. The house is newly refurbished, very clean, and all the linen, pillows, towels, mattresses etc are new so no problem for anyone who has dust allergies. Good heating in winter. Beautiful sunsets. The view from the main bedroom is idyllic. The weather in November was perfect. The Cevennes area really is something special.
Martine was a wonderful hostess - kind, warm, helpful and also respectful of one's privacy. She and her son Nicolas, who happened to be down from Paris, were excellent company.
A little tip, go to the address Nicolas sends you personally, not the one formally listed. The address is not quite correct and the person who lives at that address is unresponsive.
