Apartment in one of the most beautiful areas of San Francisco, with a quiet suburban like feel, yet only a few blocks to some great restaurants, easy parking, and a bus stop right on our corner. Pets more than welcome.

The Space

Very large bedroom with a king size bed, lots of closet and dresser space, and personal bathroom right across the hallway. Fits up to three. Check-in and check-out times are for room access only -- generally we can accommodate storing luggage/wifi access/etc much earlier/later.

Guest Access

Wifi, Cable TV, Netflix, and free laundry are available. You are welcome to use the kitchen as long as you clean up after.

Interaction with Guests

Guests are welcome to make use of my local knowledge as much as they would like -- either not at all or mostly available to (email hidden) if they would like!

The Neighborhood

It's San Francisco, you can walk around our neighborhood and see the entire skyline, with some of the most sunny days. Really can't complain, at all.

Getting around

You can walk down the hill to the tourist areas (Mission/SOMA) or use public transportation, the bus line is on our corner, to get anywhere in the city.

Other Things to Note

We do have a happy golden retriever, Odin, who will be greeting you at the door.

  • This was our first b&b experience and we has a nice, clean bedroom with our own bathroom. Matt was very helpful when asked and provided excellent coffee. The area had awesome views and was a $1.00 bus ride to the city. Thanks Matt. Regards Jean and John

  • The room was indeed huge, as is Matt and his fiancee's apartment, not to mention the massive bed. We had a very enjoyable stay with Odin the world's friendliest golden retriever being one of the highlights of our stay. The neighborhood is pretty quiet with lots of free parking spaces, however we found it a bit difficult to get downtown with public transportation (bus stop not designated). Our hosts made us feel welcome and we would definitely recommend this place.

Beautiful view from the hill (be prepared !)

    Would recommend.

  • Nice place to visit San Francisco because of the bus stop right around the corner of the street. However, you have to be careful not to come back too late from downtown, because there are not many buses after 8 PM (we went there in june).

Regarding the place, Matt's room and bathroom are clean and it's pretty quiet ; we had a good time for three days there.

Matt and his girlfriend are discreet and friendly, they don't talk so much if you don't go talk to them, but it's easy to engage a conversation with them. Moreover, the dog is adorable and doesn't smell much, so it's not a problem at all.

Finally, there are good restaurants to 5 blocks away.

  • Matt's place was really nice and spacious. The room was exactly as described and had many gadgets to offer. Bathroom was clean and had everything one could ask for. Everything was clean and in order. Matt gave us some good advice on where to get good food which is actually kind of around the corner. Besides Matt and his girlfriend we were welcomed by one of the cutest dogs ever called Odin. Parking was as easy as it could get having always a spot right in front of the house.
    All together - Great place!

  • Matt's place is spacious, clean, and has fairly nice views over the city. Bedroom and bathroom all very clean and a VERY nice tv to watch in the evenings after a long day. Also very kind to let us use the coffee machine - became a bit of a morning ritual! It took quite a while to get into the centre of town unless you know the city's transport system well (in my opinion it's not as good as London's)

Would have liked to have seen / spoken a bit more to Matt as it was our first time to the west coast but they went camping for a few days so that could explain it. Overall no issues!

PS they also have a very cool dog!

  • Staying with Matt and his girlfriend worked out great and my friend and I really enjoyed ourselves. The room is really quite huge and the bed is super comfy. Matt and his girlfriend were both very nice and helped out with our questions on how to get to certain parts of town and anything else we needed. Their dog Odin is adorable. While the area is a little ways from downtown, it was super easy to get around, there were many delicious food options; and the view from a block or two away of downtown was really nice. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

  • The experience was great. The room was exactly as described. Bathroom was awesome. Everything was clean and in order. Those pics doesnt do the room any justice lol. For those of u who are driving to SF, you cant go wrong with Matt's place. Very spacious and private. Close to every tourist spots in DTSF. And also lots of parking space. Did i mention the huge and comfy bed? Yeah! Looking fwd on my next stay at Matt's place when i visit SF.

  • I found it to be a great deal! It was my first time using airbnb. It was convenient to get to the airport. The room was as advertised, big. The linens were luxury hotel quality on a large King size bed. The room also had its own thermostat and two luggage stands -- the kind you find in a hotel -- which was an unexpected pleasant and useful surprise. There's also a large full length mirror and nice art work in the room. However, there were no curtains over the window. I am sure he's working on replacing them. His two dogs were very friendly and docile. Matt was accommodating when we arrived very, very late.

  • Matt's place was fantastic for staying in SF for the first time. It had easily available parking and was only a hop, skip, & a jump from being able to check out the Castro and Mission districts. The room and bed are extremely comfortable, and it only takes about 5 seconds to feel like you are home. Matt is very friendly and hospitable and his place is generous. Am already recommending it to friends as the place to use to go visit SF.

I work and live in San Francisco (Potrero Hill). I am a software engineer by day and have many hobbies (music, skiing, tennis, racquetball, anything tech related, wine) by evening and weekend. I am a low drama friendly person who loves to get out there and try new things. I've traveled throughout Europe and some of Asia. Life should be relatively easy.
