We refer to our place as Contemporary Tropical, with a well lit open layout, concrete and wood floors, concrete counter tops, and colorful pleasing visual appeal. The kitchen is spacious, has a gas convection oven and plenty of room to make your evening meals. The major appeal to our house is our large outdoor Kitchen/ BBQ area with Palapa and gas fire pit. A wonderful place to cook your meals, sit and enjoy a glass of wine, and sun tan while listening to music. The bedroom is simple, and the bed features a Memory Foam Mattress that is probably the same as sleeping on a cloud :-) . You will have your own private bathroom that has recently been remodeled.
Our house is walking distance from the golf course (2 miles), Bay wood and bay (a few blocks) and bike riding distance from Montana De Oro (4 miles) where you can find great mountain biking trails, horse back riding, surfing and hiking.
Aaron and Clinessa have been born and raised in the area and would be happy to share our local knowledge of great mountain biking trails, hiking, surf spots, wineries, and beer tasting, music events.
There is a bus station a block away and mountain bikes can be provided to the right people.
We have a cat and dog, so yes pets are allowed but will be screened.
The whole house.
We love to interact with our guests and are very outgoing. We are down to interact on whatever level our guest are comfortable with.
We live in a very friendly neighborhood. It walking distance to the back bay which is very picturesque.
Our favorite thing is how quiet it is. At night we can lay in bed with the widows open and it is 100% quiet. No noise at all, it is extremely peaceful.
A car is recommended.
Aaron and his wife were very accommodating as we had two children and arrived much later [early AM] than anticipated. We enjoyed our brief stay and wish we had more time to enjoy the creativity of the place.
We stayed two nights and it was perfect. Clean room, great bathroom, and even though the room wound up being in the house rather than separate, we had plenty of privacy. Best part of your stay though was the great recommendations for food and activities that our hosts gave us! They were super sweet and knowledgable about the area.
My had a wonderful experience during my stay with Aaron and his wife in Los osos. They were extremely helpful with local recommendations for food and entertainment in the area. The bed was so comfortable and the house was very clean. I felt very welcome and it was a great location. Thanks Aaron!
Loved the burch bunch and their bungalow. Clean, awesome remodeled spaces. The room is small but my husband and I plus 2 month old baby had a cozy 2 night stay. Burchs are very easy going, left us coffee on first morning. Walking distance to trails, back bay cafe, nature preserve. Short drive to embarcadero and great restaurants. Would give 5 stars if room was larger but it's not their fault, and the price reflects that too. Thanks Aaron and Clanessa.
My wife and I had a great time in our visit to SLO. One of the highlights for us was being able to use the outdoor and indoor kitchens. Aaron and Clinessa made the stay pleasant and the location and house was convenient and more than satisfactory for what we needed. Note that the bathroom is not in-suite, but it was right across the hall from the bedroom and otherwise private. Thanks!
My girlfriend and I were winging it on a camping / road trip along the California coast. When we couldn't find a suitable campsite for the evening, Aaron and Clinessa saved our butts!
Aaron responded to our inquiry quickly and even left a dinner party to let us in his home and show us around. The house is incredibly comfortable and the outdoor area / fire pit / cabana was a welcome retreat from the wilderness.
All in all, I would (and will) recommend the Burch house to anyone making their way down the California coast. Do not hesitate to book this gem!
Had a great stay! Aaron recommended a rocking Octoberfest and local restaurants which were superb. Outdoor gas grill and fire pit were nice touches as well. Very comfortable bed provided good rest after our half marathon. Nothing but good things to say about very gracious hosts.
Wonderful stay, we arrived very late, and it was no problem for them.
Just wished we stayed longer, not just for overnight!
Aaron and his wife were very warm, welcoming and accommodating hosts. Much care and thought has been put into their beautiful home, and the bathroom we used was stunning, but that beauty doesn't extend into into their guest bedroom. It was cramped, felt a bit dated and the bed was very high off the ground requiring a stepstool. That wouldn't have been such a problem if there was ample other seating in the bedroom, but there was just a desk chair and nowhere to place your luggage.
