  • Wonderful place to stay in a great location. Paul was very helpful and very willing to share ideas on places to go. Highly recommended!

  • First of all, I want to emphasize the fact that Paul is probably the most, up-front, trustworthy, above-board dude of all time. Everything he said/recommended/promised was exactly as said/recommended/promised...from the first day of the trip to the last.
The room: EXACTLY as pictured, and more. Perfect for two people. The location was great...quiet, close to everything, on easy bus lines, beautiful, etc. Pro-tip: the small room is like a cloud in a cave. It's soft, quiet, and oh so comfy. (Note: please make sure you have a friend or an alarm clock, because you will sleep all day if left alone). That said, the other bed is equally comfy, and the tv is adjustable so you can see it from both (hooray!)
Etc: not only did Paul provide a seamless airport pickup, he also took amazing care of us the entire trip AND recommended places to eat/visit that ended up being some of my new favorite places in Portland (and this was about my 12th time here).
All told: hooray for Paul and the Funky Pad. Stay here. It's the bomb. Only make sure you're out before my next trip.

  • Paul managed our rental and stay, and he was kind and super helpful. It's just as lovely as the pictures, and the whole house has a good vibe.

  • I arranged for my parents to stay with Paul and Carolyn for a night while they visited Portland - they were great hosts! We met Paul who was welcoming and friendly and gave us a tour of the funky pad and my parents loved it! It was super clean, very cool, and had everything they needed. We especially appreciated that there were some extras in the room - juices and coffee, which we enjoyed with the breakfast we brought them from waffle window. It (email hidden) to stay and I would recommend a stay here!

  • We've been road-tripping across the states. Our brief stay in Portland at the funky pad was everything we needed. We left well rested and would definitely stay here again.

  • The place was very clean and well maintained with all amenities you would expect of your own house. It was near the Kennedy School too, a gray spot to check out.

  • Our family of three thoroughly enjoyed our visit at The Funky Pad Suite. Paul was very responsive and helpful during our stay in Portland for the Vancouver USA Marathon. If we are back in the Portland area again, we will definitely stay with Paul and Carolyn.

  • Paul was an awesome welcoming host. The room looks just like it does in the pictures. It was crystal clean. Paul thought through everything when putting this room together. Anything you need is there. The space was very private. It was also easy to get to downtown Portland by bus from there and there is a beautiful park across the street. The next time I come to Portland, I'm definitely staying with Paul...if the place is available.

  • Very nicely appointed space; good location, bus to the MAX a very short walk from the Suite. Also within an easy walk to Broadway with its variety of cafes, and a grocery store.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Funky Pad Suite. It looks just like the photos, and like the description said it is insulated from noise from downstairs. The towels were very soft, and bed was comfortable. The park across the street is lovely, and only wish our stay had been longer so that we could enjoy it more. Paul communicated promptly, and was kind enough to call us right away after we had left our (email hidden)ank you Paul and Carolyn for a nice stay.

About
I'm Paul, and I'm a web designer. I work from home usually, so I'm often here to guide and serve. I love to cook, and claim to make the 2nd best Pizza in all of Portland... but I'll let you be the judge. I'm an East Coaster and spent a chunk of my earlier days in Boston and New York City. Carolyn is a smallwares specialist for the local restaurant industry, a DJ, and an artist/designer of many things, from jewelry, to clothes to accessories. She's from San Diego and went to SFSU. We both look forward to meeting you and showing you a fun and memorable stay.
