The communication with Angela was great and her mom's reception and check-in were great as well. As mentioned in other posts, the area is a bit further up than the main square which makes it cuter (with a lot of great little cafes and shops) but also a short yet a bit of a steep walk uphill. The neighborhood, San Blas is very nice and quaint but it may get lively in the weekend evenings! Overall a great experience and I really enjoyed feeling that I was a part of someone's home! Gracias Angela!
This is a quiet little bedroom on the second floor of the owners house. There are 2 double beds, quite comfortable, and a little propane stove for heating water for tea or cooking small meals, (make sure there is propane in the tank). Also, be sure and ask the host for a space heater for the cold evenings, 32 degrees C in early July. The room is located about 4 or 5 blocks from where most of the action is, the main square, but you will be pleasantly surprised at the numerous restaurants and artisans shops just around the corner. In fact Angela's location makes it perfect for viewing the whole city day or night. A short walk further up the hill you will find Limbus Resto Bar. Take my word, check this place out for a drink and bite to eat and take in the view of Cusco at the same time.
Angela and her family were very welcoming and lovely hosts. This apartment was slightly off the beaten path but close enough to the center of town. Plenty of shops and restaurants close if looking for a quick gift or bite to eat. The water pressure was as advertised, as it was difficult to take a shower at night but it was not a hindrance. It also got a bit cold at night, but the hosts provided plenty of blankets for a warm night's sleep. Should I find myself in Cusco again, I would definitely look to stay in Angela's apartment if it is available.
Angelas place is located nicely in San Blas. Not the main square but only a few blocks from all the action and therefore is walkable to anything yet quiet enough at night. San Blas is up the hill a little bit so I guess if you hate exercise then this might not be for you but I enjoyed the walks. It's an easy 10-15 min walk to anything (all of Cusco is walkable) and it is nice to see a part of the town that feels more residential than touristy. Apartment itself is more space than needed. Very comfortable and I never had an issue with hot water or water pressure
