Kensington is a friendly, diverse residential neighborhood in the center of Brooklyn. On nearby Church Avenue you will find Bangladeshi, Polish, Russian and Mexican businesses, and more. There is delicious and affordable dining just steps away from the house. Eat breakfast across the street at Moondos Latin Grill, lunch at To Be Thai and dinner at Sake Sushi. We are also near Windsor Terrace, Park Slope and Ditmas Park.
Prospect Park is a 10 minute walk from the house. Horseback riding at Kensington Stables and tennis courts at the Parade Grounds are also nearby. There are several yoga studios within walking distance. Catch the F train to Coney Island, or head to Downtown Manhattan - a 30 minute ride.

Julie and Neil were great hosts, making us feel welcome from the moment we entered their house. The room was as described. We're familiar with the neighborhood, so it was nice to visit the nearby restaurants and coffee shops again.
We arrived during an extremely cold weekend. Julie provided us with extra blankets and a space heater and alerted us before our trip to pack for the weather.
This was our first experience on Airbnb. The house of Julie and Neil was well located and close to metro station, groceries stores and restaurants. It was very quiet and cozy. The room is as is as seen in the photos. The private bathroom is a big plus!!.
The kids were very gentle, especially Benjamin with his elegant clothing. Hope you they have enjoyed Colombian candies.
Julie and Neil were always very attentive to our questions and concerns. We were very grateful for all your attention. Thanks for bringing us to pick up our rented car the last day.
We enjoyed Brooklyn and the cold and amazing New York.
Welcome to Colombia when you wish!!
Julie was very welcoming. We liked the neighborhood and the bed was comfortable.
Great place to stay, it was nice, quiet, cozy , and in a safe area. Julie and Neil were very helpful and assisted with all the questions we had about traveling throughout NY. We definitely recommend staying here if you're headed to NY!
Excellent accueil chez Julie et Neil.Ils étaient très sympas et chaleureux.
Un point négatif : la distance jusque l'ile de Manhattan était un peu longue(35 min de métro)!
Julie and her family made me feel very welcomed and provided a lot of useful information regarding the neighborhood. This is a perfect location if you are looking for something convenient within 45 minute subway ride to Midtown. The neighborhood has a lot of grocery stores and restaurants that offer much better pricing than stores in Manhattan. The setup is exactly as pictured and offers a lot of privacy as you have the whole 3rd floor to yourself. Access to a washer/dryer is very convenient as well. I would highly recommend staying in this place.
Our visit was too short!! Loved the neighborhood and such a sweet family although did not see them too much. The space is very private in spite of being in a family home. Very comfortable and simple, which is just what we needed. Only thing I can think of to make it better would be a small refrig and coffee pot but Julie was very nice to let us keep some things in her refrigerator. Will definitely stay here again when we come to visit our twin grandbabies.

We are both NYC born and bred, but Julie lived in the Midwest for 12 years. We are raising our family in beautiful Kensington, Brooklyn - a mosaic of residents who hail from all across the globe.
We love hosting guest via AirBNB in our spacious Brooklyn house. It has been wonderful for our kids meeting folks from around the country and the world!
Julie is passionate about NYC history and all the hidden gems of the five boroughs. Some of our favorite places in Brooklyn include: Prospect Park, Coney Island, Brooklyn's Chinatown, Brooklyn Heights Promenade, The Brooklyn Museum and Red Hook.
We love to travel, but with a family we don't get to go very far these days. Some favorite locales include Petra, Jordan; Dublin, Ireland; and Charleston, SC. Dream destinations include New Zealand, China and Costa Rica.
