This apartment is in a safe, gated apartment complex . 3 story building with my apartment on the top 'penthouse' (only a joke with the neighbours) interesting views from balcony looking onto Irishtown and other local views.
This is a great neighborhood with loads of restaurant and bar options, and wonderful walking area. Irishtown Library is in front of the building of the Bottleworks. There is a hair salon 5 minutes from the apartment. There is a cafe/charity shop next door to the apartment and another new cafe bar a few doors up. An express supermarket downstairs opened until 11pm. Poolbeg beach, Irishtown Nature Reserve. Sandymount beach, all walking distance. Great for walking. Right around the corner to the apartment is the Oarsman pub which is great for food and sport, the Yacht club and Sally's also another great local. There is a laundry and dry cleaner service, local shops eg. Pharmacist, Ferera Fish and Chip shop excellent I might add!. Then heading left after the bridge 5 minutes up South Lotts Road, you have Junior's, Paulie's, The Chop House and pubs Slattery's, The Bath, Beggar's Bush. Going to town via Pearse Street, instead of taking a left onto South Lotts Road, (which is where Air BNB headquarters are now, very cool building and look to it's working environment). On Pearse St, you have the Grand Canal dock area with Bord Gais theatre, many bars the Marker Hotel , Ely Restaurant.
Aviva stadium is at your doorstep. RDS is 25/30 minute walk. Merion Square, The National Gallery and The Dail (Government office) are all very accessible by walking. One can register for Dublin bikes ((website hidden)) if you like cycling! There is a bike stop on the corner of Pearse St inconjunction with South Lotts Road.
My space is easy and relaxing environment, very accessible to town and nice and easy neighbourhood if you prefer to be in a quieter part of town. Close to 3 Arena, (Aircoach bus stop) from and to the airport, Aviva stadium for a game . The apartment is rented as a one bedroom apartment but can accommodate up to four people by providing a double blow up mattress which is very comfortable and linens etc provided. This is an additional fee.
Wi-fi . The apartment is rented out in its entirety. As mentioned the studio will be closed, this door is off the hall area. Balcony area nice and easy weather permitting etc. 2 bathrooms and comfy living environment.
Interaction with Guests
As much as they would like. If I can advise on any things of interest whilst in Dublin or travelling around the country. I am available any time to talk with them.
It is a great neighbourhood for local attraction, walking, eating, socialising and easy travelling into town either by walking or taking local transport bus or luas! The luas is across the east toll bridge. This is situated between the 3 G venue and the Gibson hotel which is lovely place to sit and enjoy the local roof top view. There is a cinema also next to the Gibson, which is handy if you do not want to head into town. Low price tickets from Monday to Thursday! Ringsend/irishtown is an old part of Dublin and it is very safe.
Walking is easy, Buses run regularly into town 1 and 77, then by walking 10 minutes on Charlotte quay there is a 50 56a 77 and 77a. 5 bus stops and you in town ! The luas is over by the Gibson Hotel and 3G arena another option to get into town.
Other Things to Note
Aviva stadium is worth a look . A easy view is on the bridge of Ringsend, interesting architecture in the area, the Gasworks building, the Canal is beautiful for walks and picnics. The beach is close by, nature reserve. Airbnb building is right on the corner of South Lotts road and Ringsend. Very cool building, (website hidden) headquarters, Barrow St old U2 recording studios. Odlums Flour building super old building (not in use now) you have the Vilking Splash tour that takes in this area on its tour - great fun!
Smoking is permitted out on the balcony. Turn off the lights when leaving. Not to slam front door as I have plates on the walls, taking care to open and close door and windows. If something gets broken or damaged please do let me know! To lock the door when leaving it has a double lock. The guests should have respect for the property and its contents - nothing it too precious in the apartment apart from the art on the walls ad plates on the walls. If when finished with the shower if one could give a quick wipe to wipe water from walls etc just to prevent collection on water which over time discolors shower groutting. Only if one thinks to do it....! thank you in advance...... And of course to enjoy the neighbourhood! If one has a pet we can discuss .
Anne Marie gave us great directions to her flat, and even spent time once we got to town to write down suggestions for places to go and things to see in Dublin. She suggested this great pub right around the corner that had delicious food and a great ambiance, and told us about museums that we did not even know existed. She even took the time to call us a cab for our early flight on Sunday morning so we wouldn't have to worry about it. We were all pleasantly surprised at how well she took care of us.
The flat was exactly as listed, and it was a great amount of space and value for what we paid. We all enjoyed that we weren't in city center so we could escape from the touristy part of the city. The Tesco right downstairs was great for grabbing pastries to go to walk 15 minutes to city central. It was not a bad walk (even in the rain). We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Dublin.
It was our first AirBnB experience, but if all hosts are as great as Anne Marie, I'm sure we'll want to do another one.
awh Elizabeth thank you so much. It really was lovely to meet you all and hear your excitement for adventure. I am so happy to hear you enjoyed being in the apartment and despite the rain it was not a burden for you all. Safe traveling with the rest of your trip. Thank you for your review it is always lovely to hear great experiences from guests and that you had a great time here. Best wishes and safe everything !....have a good time all of the time.....AMB
Anne Marie's place is great. She had arranged for the keys to be given to us by her neighbour, no problems there. The flat was very clean, everything just as described. The bed is very comfortable for two people, the blow up mattress as well, although for two bigger guys it might get a little small. But we knew that from the description and Anne Marie made sure to tell us about it already in advance. We didn't have any kind of cigarette smell as described in some other reviews.
The flat is situated in a very good location with a small supermarket right below it. By taxi it's only a few minutes and less than 15€ to the city center, on foot you can take a relaxed walk and get there within 20 min or less. The area itself is very quite, so you won't wake up from any noise from the street or neighbours.
Anne Marie is very quick to respond to any questions and makes an effort to ensure you a good stay in Dublin.
Would book it again the next time.
Phillipp, thank you so much for your great review. I must say you were very accommodating. So I really am delighted to hear you were all very happy with the apartment, the it was clean, and the location of the apartment was good along with the silence of the building. I look forward to meeting you the next time. Best of Anne Marie. ...have a good time all of the time...
Great flat! Everything matched the description Anne Marie provided on her listing. The flat is in a nice location, and the 20 min walk into the city is very easy (down a large street from the city centre and then just one turn right and you're there!). We took a cab a few times too, and that's under 15 euros from the city centre so that can be useful and fairly cheap if in a group. The flat was very comfortable, clean, with all basic amenities, including some basic food like tea, pasta, etc. (there's a Tesco just below the flat too, so you won't go hungry!). The two bathrooms are very clean and convenient if more than two people are staying in the flat (the bedroom has an en-suite). The bed was very comfortable, with plenty of blankets to keep you warm, and the air mattress for the living room is a good one, with an electric pump so it's easy to inflate and deflate should you want to put it away during the day.
The area is quiet, and the flat looks to the back of the building over a nice, modern courtyard, so the small balcony can be enjoyed in peace. We also did not hear any noise coming from outside or the neighbours so if you need to rest it's great!
Anne Marie was very nice and helpful when we first arrived. We got two sets of keys, which was convenient to share between four people, and she gave us a lot of great ideas about places to eat at or visit. She gave us instructions about the flat and also left a short summary of the most important instructions, as well as some useful addresses and phone numbers for services in the area. When we needed to contact her the day after we arrived, she replied within minutes of our text and made sure to help us until the problem was solved (I didn't know how to work the shower and I only had two engineers with me!).
Overall, we all enjoyed the flat and would definitely come back there for our next trip to Dublin!
Thank you very much for your detailed review Elizabeth that was very kind and respectful of you. I really am glad you enjoyed your time in the apartment and you felt at home. I guess that is the difference between staying in a hotel and staying at someone's home. I do try and make it as welcome as possible. It was a great pleasure to receive you and your pals, as from the moment you all stepped into the apartment you were happy which makes me happier. Best wishes and thank you again for staying at the Bottleworks. have a good time all of the time ! Yes you would be welcome again for sure..!....Anne Marie
Anne Marie was very polite and was waiting for me at the appartment. The appartment was not very close to the city, as it was impossible to walk in the cold weather and at weekends there are few buses to the appartment, so I had to take taxis, which was about 13 euros from Temple bar. The appartment could have been cleaner and the linens and towels had a smell to cigarrettes which was not nice. The appartment is quite good, the shower is great and the neighborhood very nice with bars and a nice park for jogging.
Sorry Monica that you had a bad time, it seemed to me you were happy with everything as I checked in with you on a few occasions. The walk to town is 20 minutes which I have stated on the apartment guide. The buses are weekend times I guess not as busy as during the week. Unfortunate that I am not in control of the weather yes it was very cold. The apartment is professionally cleaned not too sure how you say all of the above. I am disappointed you felt your stay was not to your satisfaction. AMB
Anne welcomed us at the apartment when we first arrived, she was friendly, thoughtful, and showed us everything we needed, and more!
She made sure we got everything we needed during our stay.
The apartment itself was amazing! I actually think it looks better than what the pictures showed!
There's no smoking smell as some reviews said, it actually smelled nice, I'm a non-smoker and I hate smoking btw.
I'd totally stay at Anne's place again if I'm ever in Dublin.
Thank you so much Albara I am delighted you enjoyed staying in the apartment, yes I could upgrade the photos for sure, and thank your for that thoughtful review with regard to mentioning the smoking issue I had in the past. I look forward to hearing from you in the future. Best of luck with everything! Anne Marie
Anne Marie is a lovely host, her apartment is in reasonable walking distance to the city center. She gave us valuable suggestions for the weekend and the apartment was very comfortable with two bathrooms and sunny balcony. One can recommend staying at her place.
Anne Marie was a great host and very welcoming. She was quick to respond to any questions we had. She recommended us places to visit in Dublin. The apartment is in a great location close to Dublin's city center. It's clean, well-equipped and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend!
I am happy, out going, enjoys life with family and friends. I love adventure and excitement. I work from my studio as an Accessory Designer. I love music, art, nature. Food French, Italian, Indian cuisine and a great sandwich with cheese and coleslaw, a bag of Tayto or King crisps ! But have mouth rinse if you plan on kissing afterwards.... Music anything from Pink Floyd, Daft Punk, Bob Marley, Nick Cave and lots more,
My idea of having a guest(s) in my home, is a special time for those that choose to come and stay. I believe in honesty so all of trust is put in to the persons to respect the apartment and people in the building. The energy is peaceful within the apartment, the building is quiet only 3 floors 12 apartments in total. Great neighbours! I would the guest(s) them to enjoy my home and feel at home, and hope they enjoy their stay here. I enjoy travelling by car, in particular when I am in France my lovely friend has a beautiful 1800 Volvo 1966, so that is style, flying, trains, buses everything has a bonus when you know your travelling to somewhere, locomotion is brilliant in all forms. I enjoy cycling. It is always exciting when someone new is coming to town and hear what they want to do!
I love Ireland, Il de Re, Paris.New York,, Italy and Thailand. Whilst there are many more places still to travel to. I am currently learning French.
