July 24-26. My son (23) and I came to LA for a baseball weekend but he wanted to stay in Hollywood. It was ourfirst AirBnB experience and itwas perfect. Linda's studio was exactly as advertised. I slept in a very comfortable bed while my son slept great on the oversized couch. Linda had things ready upon our early arrival including snacks and drinks in the fridge plus a nice bottle of wine. She could not have been more hospitable. Her multi-level back patio was a great place to relax day or night. Although we were walking distance to Hollywood and Sunset Blvd and did make the walk down to check it out, it was not near as cool as a simple self guided walk through this wonderful and historic neighborhood. Linda provided information for the walk and it was awesome. We also enjoyed the walking tour of the neighborhood as detailed in information Linda provided. We drove to a few places like Santa Monica Pier, Beverly Hills and Griffith Observatory, hanging in the neighborhood was just as nice. A nice (albeit uphill most the way) walk to Yamashiro Restaurant for dinner wrapped up our weekend with some amazing views and great food. My only regret is that we did not have more time to simply sit and visit with Linda and Olivia.
Guess we will save that for next time!
We arrived just before check in time and Linda was there to meet us. She is very nice and accommodating. The room she has for us in the Hollywood Hills is fantastic. Just far enough off the strip to have quiet and just close enough to everything you need. We had a great time and loved the way Linda had banana cake and other goodies set up for us. We are planning our next visit already!
Just got back from celebrating the 4th of July at Linda's place. Linda was very nice, the room and sitting area were beautiful and comfortable and looked just as they appeared in photos. The neighborhood is gorgeous and we had a great time!
Even though the room is attached to Linda's studio and living space, she was very courteous and considerate, ensuring we had plenty of privacy. The location was nicely removed from the tourist traps of Hollywood but close enough to allow those interested to take a short walk if they wanted to be in the mix of things.
And walk we did. We walked over to the entrance of Runyon Canyon Park for some hiking, great views, and exercise. The entire way we were grateful we weren't the folks trying to find a place for their car outside the park. Linda's home was close enough it was just 10 minutes of walking until we arrived.
On the 3rd of July we took the short walk from Linda's over to the Hollywood Bowl, passing along the way scores of cars that were trying to park or were stuck in traffic. Very convenient and allowed us to enjoy the show and the fireworks stress free.
Her recommendations for dining were great. Linda suggested we walk up the hill to Yamashiro for the amazing view of L.A. and urged us to make a reservation at the delicious Mozza Pizzeria which was just a short uber ride away. We enjoyed both, the first for the view the second for the amazing food.
While we mainly walked or used Uber to get to our destinations, we did drive to Pasadena to see family. Linda's home is just a few minutes away from the entrance to the 101, so it was a very quick trip and we avoided most traffic.
So, all in all - this was a great place. If you are visiting the Hollywood area, we recommend staying here!
Linda was a fantastic host. The place looks even more beautiful in person. Lots of details and personality. It was very relaxing, open, bright, and the bed was even more comfortable than my brand new bed back at home!! I had everything I needed in the place and she really made me feel at home during my business trip. She was very friendly and attentive. It felt like I was staying more at a friends house than a "hotel." Couldn't recommend her place enough!
Linda's place is a total gem! It is a welcoming, comfortable and bright little sanctuary located in a fabulous neighborhood. Linda and her daughter, Olivia were warm, personable and very accommodating... not to mention the goodies they left for us - which was an added bonus! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to treat themselves to a special little getaway.
I felt great here! Linda is a natural hostess and immediately made me feel welcome over the phone and upon arrival. The guest house is attached to her art studio, so the home and setting have a cozy, creative and eclectic feel that I like a lot. Nice personal touches welcome visitors: the banana bread and granola made by her daughter, the bottle of wine and mini-fridge with more snacks.
The studio is spacious, with separate living/sleeping areas and bathroom. Windows fill the place with natural light, really nice, though at night you need it darker there are heavy curtains that can be closed to separate the living from the sleeping areas. There's a nice big desk and wifi, a great place to work on the laptop and take in the view. Outside are several different sitting areas in the terraced backyard.
Location is the middle of everything yet just up in the hills enough to feel a away from it all when you want to relax. The architecture of the house and neighborhood are unique; vintage Spanish-Revival in an older part of the Hollywood Hills, a neighborhood with a lot of character, filled with staircases and architectural curiosities like the "High Tower elevator" (which can be seen from the desk.) The area was built in the 1920-30s, the streets and driveways are narrow, though it was easy to adapt to. Really positive experience and I definitely recommend Linda's place!
Linda's place is as amazing as everyone has stated!! You should look no further for a place to stay....unless its the same time frame I would like to stay!!!
Location could not be better for a trip to Hollywood/L.A. Literally everything is easily do-able from here. We went to The Farmers Market for food and people watching, breakfast at Griddle Cafe on Sunset (love this place), shoe shopping at Off Broadway (the most shoes in one place ever), the Sunday swap meet on Melrose and Fairfax (if you have time do this...you will love it), and our highlight was the Jazz Fest at the Hollywood Bowl. Walking from Linda's place to the Bowl was amazingly easy, close, and convenient!!!!
We have done all these things many times before as we are frequent L.A. visitors but staying at Lindas really set this trip off!!! You can see how cute the place is in her pictures, finding it is a piece if cake, bed is very comfortable, towels are off the hook! (I am a towel snob so this was a great surprise)!!! Energy about the place is very positive and welcoming!
Meeting Linda and her lovely daughter Olivia was wonderful! They are both so personable, friendly, and down to earth. My only regret was that we stayed so busy we didn't have enough time with them. Would have loved to share more time with them both!!!

About the Host, Linda
I have been living in Hollywood for 35 years. Most of those years I have spent working in the film business as a production designer, set decorator, often times doing location scouting.
I have currently gotten back into doing my own artwork, which is wonderful for me. I'm working toward a one woman show in LA.
I love traveling. I am pretty adventurous. We usually spend summers in Italy (the same place for 10 years) where I have found an artist and "foodie" community. I have traveled to India (several times), Malaysia, Australia, Turkey, Russia and around the US and Europe.
I am a cook and enjoy having dinner parties.. I love the choice of ethnic restaurants in LA and can direct you anywhere you might want to go. I have a passion for decorating, color and off beat style.
I am thrilled to have become an airbnb host. I take great pride in hosting and continually strive to make my listing a special experience for my guests. I love new meeting people, several have become friends.
