We enjoyed returning to this comfortable sanctuary after some hard days. The sunset view is not to be missed! Katy and Donna were very kind and helpful. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and the master bed was super comfy. The bathrooms are nicely appointed with great water pressure and plenty of hot water.
Beautiful 2 bedroom cabin with a great view of the Smokey Mountains Skyline from the porch swing. Spent most mornings eating my yogurt and watching the fog lift out of the valley from that swing with the promise of the day in front of me. The main bathroom is modernized and spacious. The WiFi is fast and reaches the entire house with very good signal. The living room is cozy and seats found to five adults with a great family video library and nice flat screen tv and DVD player. The kitchen fits this small cabin well and is well stocked with pots and dishes. All the appliances are recent. Having all the linens-towels, washclothes, sheets and all bed linens-was wonderful!!
What a wonderful stay!! The cabin was very clean and modern and had all the amenities. Although it rained our entire stay, we had a blast playing cards, sitting on the beautiful wrap around porch, and taking walks in between the rain showers. The location of the cabin is also amazing--far enough from the town to feel rural, but a quick drive to Boone or Blowing Rock. We will be back!
We loved staying in this log cabin. It was just what we were looking for. Katy & Donna were very attentive - they email back immediately if you are having any issues - which, judging by our stay, you most likely won't have. I only emailed them because I couldn't locate the thermostat. It was so modern I didn't recognize it as the thermostat. But I found it in 5 or ten minutes and they had already emailed me back to tell me where it was and how it worked. It heated the place up very quickly. Almost too quickly. We didn't have time to take our jackets off. The place itself has everything you need to entertain yourself. I could've just stayed there the whole time & not ventured out but we did venture out to Blowing Rock, Boone & Gtrandfather Mtn which were all very close by. We drove the Parkway from Grandfather to BR one afternoon and ate at the Blowing Rock Ale house and it was a day well spent to say the least. They have a lot of information on places to hike, and things to see and do to get you started. From there you can go online or just ask people around town and you're sure to find what you're looking for in terms of NC mountain adventure. They even had a couple stamped postcards that you were welcome to use to tell your fiends about the beautiful sunsets you'll see from the large swing on the huge porch. Theres even a guitar you can play while you sit around the fire pit under the brightest stars I've seen in long time.
Katy and Donna have an absolutely wonderful cabin here! It has been beautifully put together, and we loved the attention to detail, like fluffy white towels, a log fireplace, family games, porch swing chair, blankets, candles, as well of course fantastic views of the hills ... The place is fully equipped, and has all lop-quality new items- my parents and husband alike could have stayed for weeks. Perfect for a family, friends or a couple wanting a cosy base off the blue ridge parkway. We were here for peak fall colors, but would like to come back in the summer to make the most of the fire and ponds, or winter/ holidays for the fire and kitchen!
Family loved the cabin! Views were amazing and cabin was cozy!
Heat was a problem. It cycled off every 4 hours and we couldn't keep it going. Charter cable had issues with wifi so we lost wifi after a night there...
So if the heat were fixed it would have been perfect!
So happy you and the family loved the cabin!
The thermostat will sometimes inadvertently reset to "away" status if it doesn't detect any movement in the house. There is a way to override this feature on the thermostat. I wasn't aware that you were having an issue but am sorry to hear that you were inconvenienced by our supposedly smart thermostat.
Charter has been out and replaced wires and the modem and all is working well now.
We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to see you again soon!
Wow - the view! We could not have asked for a better mountain landscape to wake up to. The home was beautiful and the perfect fit for our weekend in Boone. A short drive downtown and a quick hop to Blowing Rock for the wedding we were attending. The beds were cozy and the amenities were great. Thanks for sharing your home with us and our dog Finley! He loved going on walks with us around the area.
