A more longwinded explanation of the apartment …

A bit about the apartment, it is a two bedroom with 3 floor to ceiling windows (one in the bedroom and two in the living room). The apartment is very clean, in a very safe neighborhood and looks great.

The second bedroom is small, but has a wall to ceiling window in it, as well as exposed brick, air-conditioning, and full size Sealy bed. It also has a large closet and three small dressers to put your things in.

The kitchen will be stocked with plates/dishes/cups/cutlery etc, as well as pots and pans. We installed new cupboards, new sink, new stainless microwave, and redid the butcher block countertops year.

The floors are parquet wood flooring throughout the apartment and there are two areas where the wall is exposed brick, so it provides you with a great look and an attractive apartment.

There are also bookshelves, coffee table, brand new leather couch, chaise lounge, and ottoman, small dining area, ceiling fans, and air conditioner. There are several plants in the apartment as well to give it a homey feel.

The Upper East Side is incredibly safe with no problems as far as crime or drugs etc. You can feel safe walking around at night when coming back late from work without a problem.

The building does provide a night security officer who monitors the area at night to ensure safety, but if you speak to anyone about our neighborhood they will confirm that there are never any problems.

I am close to everything ... with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd avenues being a 3 minute walk away and literally thousands of restaurants and bars of all different tastes, from Italian, Ethiopian, Peruvian, Argentinean, American, English, French, Middle Eastern, Vegetarian, Sushi, etc. Literally there is everything right near by. If you would like to see.. you can go to (website hidden) and see all the 546 restaurants that are in our neighborhood alone.

Central Park, the Met, the Guggenheim, are all a 13 minute walk away or a 3 minute cab ride. All areas of the city are completely accessible without a problem via cab, bus, or subway. There is even a taxi stand right nearby that takes you to Wall Street/Downtown in 10 minutes for only 6$ a person.

Min 4 month rental ... longer preferred. but contact me as I have other places as well :)

Anyway ... hope that helps ... if you have any other questions please let me know. I will try and get back to you right away.

1. Are Linens Included?
Yes... clean and new linens are provided for you.. no worries about having to bring that with you. Save the space in your bag! :)

2. Do you provide me with keys for the apartment?
Yes.. I provide you with two sets of keys ... and have family in the city to help you if you locked yourself out.

3. Is a laundry mat nearby?
No need.. since I have a washer and dryer in the apartment

4. Is there any additional fees?
No.. I don't charge any extra fees.. as a lot of other places do.

5. How do I know if the apartment is going to be clean?
I have a cleaner come in between guests... ALL PAID BY ME ... so no hidden cleaning fees for you.

6. Can I cook and use the kitchen?
Cook your heart out! Feel free to use whatever you'd like... as well as don't feel as if you need to buy the basics... butter, sugar, salt, etc... as you can use mine without any charges.

7. Are there a lot of stairs to get into the apartment/building?
I live on the first floor.. and so there are exactly 6 small steps to get into the apartment. I have had elderly persons rent the apartment who were concerned about stairs.. but it isn't a problem at all.

8. Do you have wifi? Computer?
Each bedroom has a computer, television with cable in it for you to use! There is also wifi
if you bring your own computer.

ANYWAY... whew.. long winded perhaps.. but I hope that helps. Feel free to contact me and ask any questions you may have

  • My Mom(78), my daughters (19 and 16) and I stayed here on our "girls week " in NYC. A fabulous week was only made better by the amazing accommodations afforded us by nyc native.
The neighborhood is centrally located, beautiful, quiet and safe. It was never a problem to get a cab half a block from the front door. The first floor location made it easy to access even for my elderly mother, only a couple of stairs and you are there! There was plenty of space for all of us- even being Texans and used to our wide open spaces!! The kitchen is nice and very useable.
We got discounted tickets for several plays from our host and there was no problem getting them at will call.
My next trip to NYC will definitely find me back in this apartment!

  • The apartment is really great. The pictures are exactly like the apartment appears. The hammock is very comfortable. The beds themselves are the super comfortable and significantly more comfortable than a Hilton we'd stayed in while in New Jersey.

The apartment was well stocked and the wifi super fast. Check in and Check out was super easy and convenient and Roberto was very responsive at all times.

Absolutely no problems recommending this apartment to others and would certainly look to stay there in the future. Neighbourhood is fantastic and feels very safe.

  • This was our 1st trip to NYC. Roberto ensured that in the apt we had everything we needed. There were towels in each room (email hidden) book to help us navigate the city. This apt is close to everything. Whether you want to take the train or cab you are close by. Its also a lake property with great views. There is a grocery store right down the street and a bonus starbucks. We walked to central park which was close by and was not disappointed. There are several places to dine and although I had no issues with the apt Roberto was just a phone call a way for suggestion of places to eat (great suggestion for grays papaya by the way). Our 3 night stay was wonderful and this apt gave you the real NYC expierence. The place was clean and everything you need was there. I would highly reccomend to anyone that this is the best place to be, central to everything and easy to get around the city. I would definitely return! Thank you Roberto for your hospitality.

  • The experience was a good one. The neighborhood was safe. My only quibble was that the host asked that garbage be put out every day, but did not say where the garbage was to go nor were there any bags to put it in. Other than that, the stay was fine.

  • Roberto was a very easy host to interact with, and was both prompt and courteous. The listing was exactly what we expected for our NYC stay, with a few small issues with getting the TV and/or computer to work. However, this wasn’t really a problem, as we brought or own devices that were able to access the provided WiFi. As we were out for most of the day watching TV wasn’t really on our list of things to do, but it may be important for other guests. The neighborhood was fairly quiet, given the ambient noise one would expect in a city like Manhattan. Grocery stores, pharmacies, and a variety of eateries were within a few blocks, so being able to find anything you might need late at night within walking distance wasn’t a problem.

Overall, a very positive experience and would be happy to stay there again!

  • Roberto's apartment is in a convenient area with easy access to the subway (approx 10min walk) and Central Park and the museums.

Although the flat is a good size, it's slightly tired and quite dark (the living room needed more bulbs). The smaller bedroom is also a tight squeeze and very drafty and cold next to the window (It was approx -5 C when we visited). That said, it's in a lovely apartment block and we didn't experience any noise at all.

There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby and it's very easy to hop onto the subway to access the rest of the City.

Hi, I am a native New Yorker who has traveled and lived around the US as well as several places abroad. So, at times I rent out the second bedroom of my two bedroom because I love travelers and hearing all their stories. I do know a lot of deals in the city, from very inexpensive tickets to the theatre to great places for drinks/food that won't break the bank. I try and be as helpful as you need me to be.. because I grew up here, I absolutely love it when people visit my city and fall in love with it! I want you to feel relaxed and at home in my place, so feel free to use the kitchen, help yourself to a drink, or ask as many questions as you'd like. I ask for a copy of the persons identification such as drivers lic. or passport. Email me if you have any questions.
