Interaction with Guests
You will have complete privacy and you will not have to share any room or facility. We are close by if you have any questions but we will respect your well-deserved holidays by leaving you well alone to enjoy.
The area offers a rural view over green prairies and forested hills. It is a well-known retreat for city-dwellers looking for a quiet and green corner. The area is well-served, enjoys superb beaches and it is 20 minutes' drive from the capital city, Santander (182,700 inhabitants).
For those wanting to visit neighbouring regions, the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao is 45 minutes' drive through a motorway with arguably one of the best views in Europe.
For those of more sporty disposition or wanting to try new things, we know very good surfing schools managed by real surfers, and we can arrange, at no extra cost, for courses. All ages and all levels of fitness are welcome. Our neighbour has a horse-riding school for those of you missing those early-morning rides and we'll be happy to put you in touch with them.
if you are more into art and culture, this neck of the woods holds a collection of humans' earliest manifestations considered as art, stretching back to over 35,000 years, according to UNESCO.
The house and its surroundings are both in a rural environment and well connected by motorways and other roads, so a car is a must-have to get around.
Please note that no additional guests other than those agreed in advance are allowed.
'Lord' and 'Rex' are our family dogs. They are very well-behaved and respectful and children tend to love them, but they will leave you well alone to enjoy your stay. On the other hand, Lord, Rex, and our horse 'Cuca', think that the house has enough pets as it is, so no additional pets are allowed, I am afraid.
You are expected to treat the property and its contents well, and to abstain from making excessive noise at unsocial hours, but this is basic common sense.
You will be given a set of keys to access both the property and the house proper, and you can expect not to be bothered by either us or neighbours (perhaps the occasional church bell from the distance). The property has a washing machine and dishwasher, towels, cooking utensils, dishes and cutlery for your convenience.
This is our house. My family and my two dogs live on the right-hand side. The left-hand side, with its three bedrooms, is to let.
Todo fue perfecto. Los anfitriones encantadores y la casa muy cuidada. Se percibe mucho cariño en los detalles de la casa. Lo pasamos muy bien. Muchas gracias!
My experience was more than expected. Nice view from every direction. The countery life of the place made every thing looks nice and simple. House is new and very clean. The treatment of the owner is very nice and he is so helpful. Yes, I recommend this house for any body visiting Santander and I wish to go again and again.
Es war alles sehr schön. Sehr sauberer Zustand.
First let me tell you about our great host; he and his father were very comforting and accommodating. They answered every question and concern and made every attempt to make our stay pleasant and worry free.
Now let me tell you about the home, it is lovely! It is in the country and private. You do share a common wall with the hosts parents, which we never heard through the walls ever. The dogs on property barely ever barked and were both very friendly. There is a horse with a cow bell, Haha but after two days we got used to that too and even got to pet the horse often. You are not close to walking to anything but again, it's peaceful and private. The local beach was nice and had a few places to eat and shop and we spent one day there but mostly drove into Bilbao to site see, and Pamplona for the running of the bulls ceremony. The beds were very comfortable and there were dishes and clean linens. The only con for us was We planned to do Landry as we thought we were having use of a clothes dryer. Our clothing did not hang dry in time for us to pack up to leave, as It rained the whole time in town so that made it hard on us. Other than not having the dryer as we thought, the place great!!! Very charming and cozy and you gelt safe away from others. The hosts were very nice and friendly and we feel they went out of the way to make sure our stay was good. THANK YOU!!!
We had a really peaceful and quiet time and Inigo's place. The house is very clean and super - comfortable and Inigo's parents warm and welcoming - yet really making sure that we had our privacy. There is a bunch of great surfing schools in the area and the waves are fab for beginners/intermediates and the beaches are lovely. For us the only drawback was the wifi connection that we needed- strangely it did not work only our laptops/i pads/i phones settings and the very same wifi worked at Inigo's parents and his bro - so maybe it was our devices - so likely we were just unlucky with that.
About the Host, Inigo
We are a couple living in Brussels.
We love art and culture, travelling and meeting interesting people, while we are not working hard ;-)
We think AirBnB is the way forward in travelling: built on trust, letting people have a more personal experience, and giving more choice as to where to stay and whom to receive. As long as you give people what they want - respectful clients and owners, quality accommodation in great places, and a way of building up a network of 'good addresses' without losing its initial identity, it will work.
