Shortlisted for Shed of The Year 2018, shed and breakfast is tucked away in a little garden in colourful Cliftonwood sandwiched between Clifton Village and the vibrant Harbourside. It has a super king sized bed, its own little kitchen with 2 hobs & a fridge. Though close to the house, the shed does feel very much your own once inside. Down steps and through our back door, you reach a private bathroom in the house. You're welcome to share the little garden with our family and Wilf the dog!

The space
When we renovated our home in Cliftonwood, we lived in the yellow shed for two years and we loved it! We'll describe it as best we can here but on our dedicated shed and breakfast website you'll find more information about the shed so do check it out.

The shed is 5 metres long by 2.5 meters wide so it is compact but we hope you will feel that it has everything you need for a happy stay. The little kitchen has a two ring electric hob, a good sized fridge with a freezer compartment, a sink with cold running water and all the pots and pans, plates etc you could need to make simple shed feasts. There's a toaster and kettle, an old pine country kitchen table and the shelves are stocked with teas and coffee. We also provide some local organic bread and honey with fresh coffee for your first morning. There are books and games to enjoy during your stay as well as wifi connection, a blue tooth speaker and a roberts radio. The Super King sized bed has an electric blanket with dual controls, wonderful french linen sheets, a feather duvet and colourful bedspreads and once you get in you won't want to leave! We provide towels and a hair dryer and there are a couple of storage baskets for clothes and a little hanging space The shed is fully insulated and there is fancy new dyson heater and an electric blanket to keep you toasty as well as blankets and hot water bottles for the colder months when it can be a bit on the chilly side at night. In the utility in the main house approximately 5 metres away through the garden (take care on the steps at night), you have your own entrance with access to a slow cooker and microwave as well as hot running water, a washing machine and your own private wet-room and loo.

Outside you'll find a sunny (sometimes!) south facing garden that you share with the family but with your own bench and table, a barbecue you can use and a little gate that leads out onto the quiet colourful street and the vibrant city close by. If you are bringing a car, permits are needed on our road between 9am and 7pm mon- sat so just let me know and we'll sort out parking permits for you at £2 per car per day.

You'll also find a lovely write up on the Bristol Post website with the title Top 11 Air bnbs in Bristol...And if you are super keen you can find us featured fleetingly on BBC One's The One Show! in July 2017!

Where you’ll be

We are just a little bit smitten with Cliftonwood with its colourful houses and characterful streets. It is a real gem in Bristol and is really close to loads of fab places to visit, wonderful walks and great places to eat and drink. We have made a pack up for the shed with maps and brochures of all our top places as well as a guide to all our favourite haunts but we won't publish those here as the list is too long.... if you want a copy before you come then email me and i'll send you a pdf copy. Our particular road is such a welcoming and happy place with lots of friendly neighbours and a real community feel, it is however a steep hill so be prepared for a spot of huffing and puffing when you are on your wanderings! Round the corner there is a famously welcoming family pub The Lion which is fab for sunday roasts, there's also a beautiful community garden up the road and the river is just 5 mins walk as is Clifton Village and there's Ashton Court really close too. The city centre is a leisurely 30 min walk or 10 mins on the bus or ferry. We can't wait to share all our favourite places with you.

Hi there we are Daisy, Jon, Indy and Wilf the dog! We met in Bristol back in 2010 and moved into our home together in Bristol in 2012, creating our very first venture together - shed and breakfast Bristol. It has been a whirlwind of house renovations, shed living, little person arrival! and general Bristol loving. We love to travel and explore as a family and we really enjoy hosting and making people’s stay special. It has been an amazing few years and we feel super proud of shedandbreakfast and have loved welcoming all our guests. But the countryside beckons and we are now beginning our new shed and breakfast venture in the wonderful Somerset countryside near the creative hub of Frome. We hope you will visit us and we can not wait to get started and for shed and breakfast take 2 to evolve and hopefully open in spring 2020! Our shedandbreakfast website has a blog where we will keep you updated of our progress! In the mean time we will be busy building veg patches, buying chickens and generally getting stuck in to country life. As well as the odd trip to air bnbs on our travels! X

During your stay
The shed does feel nice and tucked away from the rest of the house once you are inside but I am a full time mum at the moment so I am often at home and we do love and use the garden quite a bit, so though the shed is your own space, it is close to the house and you may well see us as you come and go and we hope you will feel really at home here. A lovely review said 'Jon and Daisy are excellent hosts and strike a perfect balance between being friendly, helpful and approachable without being intrusive or nosey, were more than happy to give us some advice on places to eat or see during our trip and Wilf the dog is a friendly big ball of fur!'
